    Thank you - the tile of interest is a great thing to point out.

    24:22 was just too cute. Ari also got excited about the refined ore. Amazing timing

    Some might say you are slow. I call it methodical! I also see the care you put into creating the narrative as a logical from point A to point B and you do so with intent and clarity! You have my admiration in your crafting of the progression and how you tie things together in teaching a method and not a "just do what I say". Thank you greately!

      I agree! I saw another TH-camr's full explanation, and in their first episode, it was just digging for 30min but I felt like I learnt nothing at all. Meanwhile, Echo's first episode was literally only probably 2-5 seconds of unpauced gameplay, and I felt like I learnt so much. And the parts I did know, it was still very engaging to watch.

    That intro was perfect imo. I've spent so much time worrying if I was smart enough, or efficient enough and kept resetting my colony. I was getting super stressed trying to play perfectly. Ugh. Thank you Echo!

    Thank you Echo! 700+ hours in and I did not know the tile of interest detail. I previously had to build and nudge but no more.
    Keep up the great guide!

    This episode was eye opening and wow just amazing. As someone just getting into the game after leaving it a while due to some confusion and frustration this episode in particular really highlights that I was just rushing things. I done even post often but I felt the need to say thank you.

    Been coming back to the game after a huge hiatus. I wouldn’t consider myself a beginner but definitely pretty rusty and never got the hang of some of the more advanced builds. This series has been super helpful in diving back into this fantastic game.

      The only time the speed of development is important is if you're going for the achievement Carnivore. Play ONI the way you enjoy it as it's a solo game and should be enjoyed the way we like it and find it fun.

    I'd add (no idea if someone else has suggested it) you can set the coal generators to the lowest priority, then the dupes won't steal errands from the sweeper.

    Love the content as always!
    This is a bit pedantic, but according to the wiki, “It's known as Tile Of Interest (TOI) by the community but should be named Cell of Interest because the location is a cell, not a tile.”

    I just started a new game yesterday. I only got 5 cycles in before I had to go to sleep, but I plan to take this one at least to here. I have never successfully set up a refinery or gotten atmosuits before so I want to use your advice to do at least that much

    13:40 surprised you're not going through that area where the Bristle Blossoms are and possibly turn it into a natural reserve or something

    Hey echo, why did you use a conductive wire bridge when explaining transformers (18:40)?

      Because chaos?

    • @insomnia2411
      @insomnia2411 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is better to use the conductive wire bridge whenever possible because you cannot overwrite wire bridges when you upgrade from standard wire to conductive. It saves you some headache down the line.

    Question, instead of dumping the brine directly into pool. Would it be better to run into cold water with radiant pipe then dump it????

    Thanks so much for this - I've never managed to get through the game but the tutorial is helping a lot. What about slimelung - is that something I can ignore when I'm trying to get more algae?
    Before i find an ice biome, or if i can't find an ice biome to kill the slime lung, I mean, thank you:)

  • @guyszabo8646
    @guyszabo8646 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I started watching this series waiting for how to get into late-game and space program stuff, and for some reason I never thought about using my cold biomes when starting to refine metals, I always tried to brute-force my way to a sauna, which always used more power than it was able to create.
    Thanks for opening my mind to it.
    BTW.
    I always end up playing on "no-sweat" mode, because on survival I do stuff too fast, too slow, or a bit of both(I don't even know which).
    Do you have any tip about understanding the pace of my colony, and how to evaluate correctly the immediacy and importance of an upcoming/ongoing disaster, and solve it accordingly.

    Thats not late im on cycle 481 on the lab map. I have 2 petroleum generators fed constantly by ethanol that i have farming since cycle 12( pod gave me acorns after sending a dupe to the next planet). Havent needed to refine metal for all that free gold below the starting biom. Eating mostly frostbuns grown in planter boxes on mesh tile in the small ice biom behind the flux-o-matic. Havent buit the materials study terminal but have several areas ready for steam turbines as soon as i do on the second planet that already has 30k crude oil waiting to be fed to the several metal sources.
    Sometimes its good to just take your time no rush you will get there.

    Any suggestion on what to do to handle the temperature this earlier when you don't have this geyser? I'm playing along with this guide (which is great), but my game doesn't have this geyser and the cold biomes barely have any water.

    • @mildlyderanged
      @mildlyderanged ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're using it for a SPOM just pipe it straight in, if you're looking to cool liquid otherwise mixing it with ice from an ice biome works, as does running radiant pipes past a bunch of wheezeworts.
      Long term you want to get into a Aquatuner but the two methods above will hold you for a while until you get into that

  • @TheAntoine185

    I'd love to have the advanced method for producing steel. I used this tip with the ice biome to make it but now I'm at cycle 1718 and I keep failing on making a setup for a fast steel production. I haven't unlocked yet the super cooland and I'm using petroleum and a cooling system with aquatuners but it's not fast enough. I'd like to process steel all cycle long without to worry about temperature. Do you have a solution to my problem?

    this is a silly request but can you take a moment to go over radiant pipes more because i play a lot and they still confuse me 😭

    • @EchoRidgeGaming
      @EchoRidgeGaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are just the same as regular pipes, except they transfer heat (which includes cool) with the surrounding environment a lot better.

    Nice work dude. Very thorough and informative, as a beginner oni player with only around 850 hours under my belt, hunting for information is difficult. There are a few other TH-camrs that do ONI content exclusively, but none that I can handle hearing speak for longer than 3 minutes except for you. There’s a middle eastern guy that I strain to understand, and an Irish guy that dear lord I cannot for the life of me bear to withstand his accent and energy combined. He’s like a less understandable prepubescent jacksepticeye on a sugar high 😂😂😂 so thanks for explaining things in plain language that is clearly spoken and well articulated.

      You can use nuclear waste as a coolant, but it it will leak in small amounts from the pipes onto the floor. This only happens with nuclear waste, and will happen with any machine that has nuclear waste running through it.
