I think the lettuce is in the quiche instead of spinach. Mushroom spinach quiche is a pretty common recipe and I doubt Klei wanted to add another plant just to get a second leafy green.

Fridge... Why not remove one of the central mess tables and the tile below it, then put a fridge a tile below that so that a sweeper that's in the kitchen can corner sweep to the fridge in the mess hall? Further, you could put another sweeper and "sunken" fridge in the mess hall above, and the sweepers will chain the food upwards diagonally. Also sweepers in the room to take the left over food back to the storage will help your rot even more!
(And then also make a fridge with 100KG of Berry Sludge for your rocket fridges)
It's ovens in UK. An oven in your kitchen furniture and a hob planted on your worktop. If you marry up an oven and a hub, you get a cooker. 😊

I'm really enjoying this series. It makes you realize how many plants can actually be grown at the same time to conserve space and reuse resources. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with it.😅
In the Southern United States, a range is an oven with a stove on top. To be more precise, a range is what you call a stove when it's on top of an oven.
Yep this. Showing my age, but we use to have separate wall ovens in homes with burners above the cabinets on the counter top.
far as i know in canada here, the range is the thing on top you cook on. the oven is the inside part you put stuff in to cook
I always thought that thing was the "stove" but according to Google translate "stove" is just another word for "oven" and the thing on top is literally called a "stove top" (?) can somebody give some more input on this? This is not the linguistic rabbit hold I was expecting to fall into today

Where I live in Europe, it'd be called an oven?? Ovens and hobs are also typically separated for whatever reason.
The reason is options. Way easier to make them work with your vision of the perfect kitchen. You can get one unit that has both an oven and a hub, but that's called a cooker where I live.
As far as I understand it a range has both an oven and a hob/ stovetop.

For that natural gas canister, if you were worried about the thermals coming out, you could run a little radiant gap pipe over that radiant liquid pipe of your cooling loop to help, first. (I think you're right, it's probably just fine like this, but I've done that when I've been feeling lazy and only need a little bump of chill.)
These dupes are living high on the hog. What a lovely little homestead you're building them!
I do the same grill set up, but I remove a few blocks from the deep freezer and add in ovens right below the grills with auto sweepers. Two level kitchen using the same deep freezer.
Have you ever considered a "central thermal spine"?

Taking in waste heat from local Aquatuners across the colony. To then be dumped in the Steam Room or another hot place with a Turbine on top.
- I think you should have a gas storage, like you have for water. But just one Gas Reservoir or one room with high pressure vent for each type of gas. That way, you can have samples of any gas you find. The Exhaust pipe should filter through it, so you can try to get samples of everything.
- the problem with gaspipe in the freezer is that it effectively bridges that tile and tuner to the entire kitchen floor. You really need it insulated! The floor will either be freezer cold or gas hot!

Where i live thing that cooks food with hight temperature of air inside a chamber called "печь" - literally "a thing that bakes" or "духовка, духовой шкаф" - literally "air locker"
I usually have two deep freezers. One in the kitchen with the ingredients and one on the far end of the great hall. The one in the great hall is separated by a drop of naphta. Makes it accessible to the dupes and keeps the chill in.
Suggestion, use the new Storage Tile to replace the tile of carpeted floor ABOVE where the refrigerator is, and load food into that storage tile instead of the fridge. you can still limit it to only a few kilos so it shouldn't spoil in the short time before someone eats it, and it lets the food be accessed from the dining room itself.

What you can do for your dupes is make another deep freezer that is closed off with a liquid that they have to jump over so they don't get the wet feet buff. I usually make the freezer inbetween the ranges and have 2 liquid blobs instead of a tile on top.
Well echo probably didn't notice but the lettuce req for the quiche is only 400 calories worth so you will not need as many plants. Also, any plan for the amount of CO2 that your ovens gonna make? Nothing better than choking on your food AND from having nothing breathable 😂 FYI I think the peppers also can grow in chlorine. If you can try finding some wheat so you can cook burgers yum. Speaking of BBQ you could ranch voles with your current materials. Though you might have to find ways for "shortening " their life. If you're against drowning. Do you think automated squishing by doors will be ok😂 If you ever need to go for low temp liquid that is not too hard to get you can opt to liquid chlorine and CO2. ( before the end game stuff like hydrogen oxygen methane supercooler etc) Oh and you could have saved some pipes by growing your lettuce in a bath of the brine which was closer.

To set your deep freezer atmosphere up even easier in the future, I recommend water and bleach stone. The new after eventually freezes and then youngest lovely disinfectant chlorine 🙂

The upper clorine farm can be changed a bit more, the first tiles after the oil air lock are kinda useless, you can move the farm and air tiles a bit further and add storages of gold and salt next to that machine, and maybe a sand storage, the auto-sweeper can fertilize saltvines for you (it still works from the other side of the wall).
I love the kitchen upgrades they help out a lot when i go to make my own setups. Thanks echo!
It wouldn't be an echo video without the "not made out of steel" at least 5 times. As for quiche spinach is a common ingredient in them no oni spinach so got the lettuce

I am in the South of England and I would say 'oven' or 'cooker'. An old fashioned big version used to heat the house too would be an 'aga' and I think an industrial one might be called a range. Range sounds 'fancy' to me 😅
well in germany the oven stuff is pretty simple its just [what it ovens]oven. for example schmiedofen = forging furnace, schmelzofen = furnace (for smelting), brennofen = kiln etc. this also goes for the oven in the kitchen. that oven is either just "ofen" (oven), "elektroofen" (electrical oven) or "gasofen" (gas oven). ofcourse ther are altenative names like "backröhre" (baking pipe) but in general slangless and accentless german aka "hochdeutsch" its just [what it ovens]oven.

Here in Oklahoma, we call that sucker with 4 burners a range. There's an oven under it on a proper model. But I've been cooking everything on a hot plate for over a decade. It's basically a single electric burner. Have you ever noticed that the spom called full Rodriguez would fuel 5 oxylite refineries? Just direct fuel the edges and center, then have the edges overflow hit 2 and 4 where the overflow from the center would split in two and get them all up to 600 a piece. Maybe the 6k power requirements is a bit nuts, but you do have a gold volcano, right?

That item IS an oven as it has no burners and is only the enclosed heat chamber.

Echo, if you make your deep storage have a one tile gap on top, your dupes can grab food directly from it. If you give it naphtha bead locks and put chlorine in it, the heat transfer is negligible. As in a single dupe produces more heat than would leak into the freezer.
Make the farm cooling chamber an Omelette Sauna? Send your spare eggs to storage bins in the farm cooling steam room, omelettes can come back on the same rail as the crops!

In USA it is common for an oven/range combo unit, where you can cook with gas/electric on burners on the range, and then bake/broil something in the oven. But in these combos, most in these cases most people would call it a "Stove top" and not a range. So a range is ONLY if stuff is on top, if it is oven/range combo, they become stove top and oven :D

I just make another deep freeze spot in the side of my mess hall(s), with a tile of liquid to one side that the dupes can reach through (oil, petroleum, something that won't freeze solid). Then I can just send all the cooked foods up there and forget about them. Yes there's a bit of thermal leakage, but not enough to really worry me.

So... from this video, i learned you can click on the actual picture of the food item in the consumables tab to select or deselect ALL of it's checkboxes below. wow, I've been 0going through and ticking/unticking each box for each dupe, which is rediculously tedious, (especially when that menu loves to auto-scroll, lol). makes sense that this would be the case, but it never registered with me before. thanks echo

You could make 2 stoves, one with a higher priority, with only the food you want created first on that higher priority, and then the lower priority crafting station with the worse food.

An oven is the bottom enclosed chamber part, that roasts and bakes food in a heated chamber. The grill is in the top part which unsurprisingly grills food, traditionally on a metal grill with direct heat from a flame above or below. Finally the hob boils pans on top etc. Combined the US calls the whole combined cooking unit a range, Which is a single unit containing one or more hobs, grills and ovens and is usually kept continually heated.
ONI's electric grill is just a grill, with an electric heating element, and the range is a gas powered grill, oven and set of hobs. 😸
Honestly, the grill should be rendered obsolete with the range, and all grill recipies should be in the range. Unless it only has hobs and no grill... Which now I think about it maybe that's the case?
btw echo you can make personal vacuums using a block and the droplet method AND it wont mess with you plants.

Your super complicated auto food delivery system, just needs you to expand your freezer to include the loader controlled by automation, so it wont matter that food is loaded into it. It will be still be cold.

"What do you call this where you live?" Dude, don't even get the Czechs/Slovaks started on this. [Rúra/roura], other than oven, also means "pipe/duct", so that's great for a game like this :D There's also [sporák], which is the combination of the oven + cooktop.

You know, instead of the egg cracker I just put the eggs on a storage bin and they will crack when the viability gets to 0, it takes a while but it can be completely automated.
Quiche is usually made with spinach and the lettuce is the closest ONI equivalent...
For you natural gas What you could do is prioritize your power plants then go to your kitchen with a buffer tank
Gotta up the number of ranches you have. And the amount of automation around your colony, you need to save your manpower.

Balm Lilies are only 2 tiles high; Couldn’t you make a full row of Dacha Salt Vines, and move up the farm tiles for the Balm Lilies to make another full row of them?

Food rotting is driving me crazy. It's so complicated to try to get that autoswept back to clean storage, after they drop it wherever, seems to me. Like mechatronic engineer sweepers trough the only dining area? It's such a waste.
Echo u can make the same system with conveyor shutoff`s but just put the conveyor loader and auto-sweeper in the lower room (under the refrigerator).
