Ee Karen. You do make me smile. Congratulations to your son and Beth. Fantastic news🎉 Keep doing what you're doing. I've been with you since the beginning and watching you is still like having a natter with an old friend 😂 Happy 2025 to you and yours. Lots of love. Xx
Happy new year Karen 🥳lovely sewn garments so nice to see them all , congratulations on yours sons engagement what a lovely start to 2025 for you all 💍stay safe and well , Amanda xx
You're a natural at this vlogging lark please don't change. How could you forget the make up bags? 😂 Happy New Year, looking forward to seeing your 2025 makes.
Karen I have just made a dress where the neck was too wide so i found the centre of the the from and folded it in 1/2 “ either side of the centres sewed it up and put a large button on it and made the button a feature it really improves it x
Love your vlogs, don’t worry about lip smacking! Great makes, you’ve reminded me I have that colourful splodgy fabric in my stash!! Congratulations on being 1 step closer to being a MIL. Happy New Year 🥂
Happy New Year Karen! How exciting about your brothers engagement!! I love your vlogs. Don't worry about the video editing. 🤗 i enjoyed seeing your 2024 makes but I especially love the top you are wearing!! 💙
Happy New Year Karen . Hope you had a lovely Christmas. We had a lovely warm Christmas here in Australia. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos this year. Love and best wishes Maree from Australia ❤️💔
Happy New Year Karen, never noticed the lip smacking😂 I love your Freya top I have the pattern so must put it on my list for this year. I am guilty of being easily influenced when it comes to sewing and knitting vlogs so I had to give myself a stern talking to and this year is a no spend year. My children will thank me 😂😂😂😂 for reducing my stash.❤
Happy new year Karen!! I have just ordered some patterns as they were in the sale, not that I needed them I just wanted them and they were vastly reduced! I have just downloaded the Simi skirt by Tammy Handmade and its cut out and about 5 inches longer than it should be, half sewn up and currently adorning my sewing machine at the moment as I got distracted and have knitted up a chunky cardigan, just the sleeves and neckband to complete. All I can say is, don't be hard on yourself, we all love our patterns, stashes and things in between its who you and who we all are 😉
Ha ha! I had to laugh, I always tell my husband that I’m putting my EarPods in to listen to my vlogs, and then he starts talking to me errrrr has has just said I should wear a hat to indicate I have my EarPods in then he can see at a glance, men!! 😂😂
Oh Karen, I have a pile of unused patterns! Usually bought when they're half price. But also from Folkwear patterns, which heaven knows if I will ever make them. Keep well lovely lady, and so pleased for the good news.
@@judimccafferty8213 Aw thank you Judi it’s quite exciting! There’s a challenge for us both one pattern a month - we could be sitting on our favourite pattern of all time and not know it. (Who am I kidding - one pattern every three to six months is more my speed!) 😂🥰xx
Never ever noticed lip smacking!! Made loads last year - 90 garments plus make up bags etc etc. 2025 I am going to use some of the many patterns not yet opened and fabrics in my stash!! Already started making some things for my grandson out of my jersey remnants. Let’s see how much I can save 🤔. Be kind to yourself - it is all about enjoying what you do not productivity- a lesson in there for me too 🙈. Such lovely family news. Congratulations. Happy New Year to you. 😊. Lynne
@@SewMyTime I’m a bit pleased that other people have unopened patterns too. I think we would all save a lot if we did use our stashes of fabric and patterns as my sons would say “challenge accepted!” 😁 happy sewing lovely 🥰 xx
@@annesullivan1171 Well said Anne it was nice to have something to celebrate as we didn’t even have a New Year’s party this year for the first time in nearly 27 years! Both in our pj’s by 10pm 😂 I think we are all due a good year we deserve it! 🥰xx
Karen i never even noticed but I bet I will now 🤷🤣🥰 i think shiny shows up lumps and bumps I saw the fabric when you made the hope dress and loved it but I made the Milender dress and it’s lovely , IT WAS ME ,I SUGGESTED THE ARMINDALE DRESS 😂😂😂😂🤷 Happy New Year to you and Hubby
@@eileentarrant9876 Ah bless you Eileen if I’d been more organised I should have looked through comments and seen who it was. I’m determined to sew more this year! Happy New Year to you and yours too lovely 🥰 xx
What a lovely way to start the New Year with a Karen vlog 😊 Congratulations on the lovely news, non-surprise surprise 😂 I don't have as many patterns as you but do have to confess to 5 unopened ones. Don't have much of a fabric stash and what I have I don't like except for one rather lovely blue linen, is there any hope for me.......🙃 Take care and Happy New Year!
No everyone hasn't made a Billie, I haven't, nor have I made the Sagebrush or the Lyra :-) I have purchased many patterns that have not yet been made up. I also have fabrics I bought in 2021 that I've not used, too, plus 2022, and 2023! I'm not confessing to 2024 purchases :-) You are not alone. I am advised that sewing, buying fabric and acquiring patterns are completely separate hobbies.
@@kylieharrison3782 I will suggest this but won’t be water in my house 😁 another lovely subscriber suggested I leave in the ers and ums and we all have a sip of wine - honestly I think I’d get into trouble off of TH-cam we would all be sloshed! 🥴🤣🥰xx
Can I ask what size of Freya you make? Do you find the finished measurements quotes on the pattern true to size? Love your makes and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours. Congratulations to your son and fiancé 🎉❤
I am pleased you asked this Elaine, I have had a tidy up in the sewing room and couldn't find my Freya to see what size I originally made. I had written the sizes on the Tabitha T shirt pattern I traced off - this was a 6 and I think the original size I would have used on the Freya would have been a 7. Measuring the pattern piece it come out at the hip as 11 and a half inches which seems right as that would give you 2 x 23" = 46" waist. Roughly measuring my podgy bits tonight my is about 45" (Good grief 🤫) and for this Freya I drew a straight line from the underarm seam to the bottom of the top taking out the curve of the waist and this added a hefty 8" to the bottom (2" at the hem on both sides) but it is quite flowy and loose and doesn't cling to my hips so it has worked. In the book the finished garment measurements put the Size 7 at 41 1/4" hip and the Size 8 at 43. 1/4" - both would be too tight on me. Hope I haven't confused you here - If you want me to show you my pattern pieces on my vlog I can do that - might have been a bit less confusing! 🤣🥰xx
Thank you, Karen, for being so detailed with your answer! That’s been really helpful to me and I’ll trace out the pattern this weekend when I’ve got a bit of time. Trying desperately to sew from my stash as much as possible at the mo. ❤️😊x
