The first full trailer for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is here and we have every Easter egg and Marvel reference right here ! We finally get a few plot reveals of the Sam Raimi directed sequel, and extended looks at the litany of guest stars: Wanda Maximorff (AND the Scarlet Witch entity!), Future Young Avenger America Chavez, ZOMBIE Wanda from What If?, Strange Supreme, Defender Strange, Zombie Strange, and Charles Xavier, played by Sir Patrick Stewart!
This not only means that mutants are in the MCU-but it also gives us the big screen version of the Illuminati. This Marvel team works behind the scenes, rigging events from the shadows. It normally consists of Professor Xavier, Red Richards, Tony Stark, Dr Strange, Namor, and Black Bolt. So we speculate about the members of this group. Marvel mainstays such as Loki seem likely, while we might be seeing the debut of an evil Tony Stark, played by Tom Cruise.

Now this opening dialogue is Strange describing his dream, but I’m not so sure that the visuals we’re seeing here are his dream. The key takeaway from this opening narration is that a stranger has a bad dream, but [when I wake up the nightmare begins] the reality strange is living in is worse than the dream itself. So we’re going to be seeing variants of stpoehen throughout the trailer-meaning we don't actually know which Benedict this is. MCU strange? Strange supreme form what if, more on him in a second-defender strange, with the ponytail-zombie strange-beach party strange?
Having you lead play different characters gives the trailer a lot of opportunities to misdirect us, so bear that in mind as we go.
The reason I think this may not be a nightmare is because this is very much like one of the realities we saw in what if. Now what if followed alternate realities where characters make a single choice that alters the path of their universe. In episode 4, we meet a version of Stephen Strange who is unable to save Christine from a car accident, so he dedicates himself to learning how to change the past. Which the ancient tells him not to do, because it is an absolute point in time. So Stephen fights all these monsters, absorbing their power until he becomes a monster himself. He is able to reverse the absolute opinion time, but as a result his universe is engulfed by black goo. Similar to the good esee engulfing universes throughout this trailer.
Now the series ends with a strange supreme atoning for his sins, by watching over a couple guys fighting over infinity stones in jar-long story. But I’m wondering if this at the end of reality was given to him as a place where he could watch over these two guys in a jar.
Or maybe this is a dream, and Stephen is able to communicate with his other self through some sort of psychic bond, Like a strange supreme is warning this range of the dangers to come.
That episode of what If did also saw the ancient one splitting off the timeline into parallels, so Strange could try to reason with himself-so strangers across all realities could share some sort of connection.
The channel heavy spoilers pointed out that this version of strange represents ultimate chairs, while defender strange-who we see later-represents ultimate order.
Then we are introduced to America Chavez, bound by these same columns that we see here in the foreground.
America Chavez, in the comics-is super strong, is near invincible, and has the ability to open up portals across universes. In the trailer you see her doing this, opening up a portal behind her to escape these columns. But I’ll talk more about this place and what it means later in the video.
She’s got a bonkers origin story that I won;t go into detail on right now, but the important thing to know is that she is a key member of the young avengers. We’ve talked about him on the channel a lot, but the young avengers are slowly being introduced in new marvel tv shows and movies, and the team also includes wanda’s twins-who very well could return at the end of this movie. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

In the comics Wanda did NOT create a perfect world for herself. She created a perfect world for all the other heroes who might have stopped her (and for her father and siblings), so they would be too happy and just leave her alone to chill in the house with her imaginary kids. But unfortunately, she gave Wolverine his perfect world which included having unaltered memories and remembering his whole life (to that point, for Wolverine's entire 30-year history, he didn't remember any of his past before Weapon X and his adamantium skeleton). Because of this paradox, Wolverine knew the world was fake and he recruited others to put a stop to it.

I like the theory that the Strange statue is an homage to him making the ultimate sacrifice in that dimension, the way Tony did in the MCU proper. That’s what allowed the Superior Stark variant to do whatever it is he’s up to.

Though the potential symbolism of Wanda pruning the trees is interesting, I’m more curious about the trees themselves considering we see them all over the shot with Stranger looking at the statue.
She might play a Sylvie-like role in this movie. An entity that the Illuminati tries to prevent from existing to avoid Multiversal intersection/collision (assuming that the MCU was initially advancing Parallel to Sony and Fox Universes.) Her encounter with Agatha Harkness which led to awakening of the Witch could possibly be the Nexus event for her. She might use Strange to get to the Council and eliminate them.

Ah but once again you like many others believe the strange in No Way Home is already an all powerful all knowing Strange.
To me the strange in No way home seemed to arrogant. He seems a lot like a variation of himself like this arrogant one we’re seeing that builds a statue to himself. Maybe he let Peter take the box away. Maybe he let this play out just to see what would happen.

I couldn't quite see clearly, but Defender Strange's costume design reminds me of one of the artifacts Doctor Strange had stored away in the sanctum in the comics back in the 80s: the Wings of Needless Sorrow. He'd even used it for a while as a replacement source of power when he'd become too corrupted to use the Eye of Agamotto, around the time he was working with the New Defenders and crossing over with Cloak and Dagger. If that artifact turned up in the MCU, it could have some potential to tie in even more shows to the multiverse.

I can actually see America Chavez's introduction, to at least Dr. Strange, being at least similar to when Spider-Man swooped in to help in Infinithy War.

Did you note that when Strange is holding the chaos orbs out of the Darkhold the window behind him looks damaged, but when he slaps the magic into the Darkhold the window is intact? Could the shots be out of sequence?

You caught an interesting detail, but I don't think it is damaged, it doesn't look broken and we all know taht Marvel likes to play with CGI in trailers (like No Way Home when "a ghost" kicked Lizard in the face), I assume they are hiding someting that's behind him, that's my lil theory 😁

8:14 - I love this theory, it makes sense. Wanda would go on a hunt to find her children only to find out she was being manipulated by this demon dragon (or an alternate version of it) and that her kids truly don’t exist. That would send Wanda into an emotional and mental breakdown and kick off her villain origin story.
The trailer is so cleverly edited that you can go in a million different directions with how you see it. Love watching the analysis of all the ytubers and how they differ. In this, Ryan says Mordu (sp?) frees Strange from his handcuffs where as when I watched it flash by, I interpreted it that he was trying to kill him and Strange just put his hands up to block the blow. Great stuff!

In the Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness movie, Wanda Maximoff will be the key to introducing mutants into the MCU. In the 2005 House of M story from Marvel Comics, Scarlet Witch de powered 95% of mutants by saying, “No more mutants.” I think there is a great chance in the upcoming Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness film, Wanda will say a phrase ,with the use of her Chaos Magic, that will bring about mutant beings within the MCU and not them arriving and staying in the MCU from another universe. She could be told how Magneto from the X-Men Fox Movies had a daughter named Wanda who possessed similar abilities to her which could inspire her to say a phrase while using Chaos Magic to introduce mutants into the main MCU. I say this because Marvel can’t just have Mutants appear for “just because “ reasons. There has to be a logical reasons for the emergence of Mutants in the MCU, what I stated here could be it.
Monica Rambeau getting her powers in WandaVision helped to establish Wanda’s ability to alter DNA.

I noticed that both the bandage demon in the beginning and Gargantos both have actively lit up runes all over them. It makes me wonder one of two things. Either the bandage demon is a redesigned Chton (or similar entity) and it is controlling Gargantos or Wanda is using the dark hold to control Gargantos and maybe the demon. Or the demon is Chton and just has the same powers. Either way, it is very clear in this trailer that both beings are literally covered in active runes when they're shown up close.
The "bandages" are Cyttorak or a lesser demon made of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak

When you look closely at the scene where the defender Strange is falling, you can see scars on his face which is also present in the Zombie Strange's face from the TV spot.
Does that mean that the defender strange is resurrected from the dead and becomes an ultimate villain?
The details on the suit are identical too, he might be a pawn to someone or something greater

Their fight will be cut short with Wanda saying something about "saving" her daughter and that's how she'll be brought into the main MCU, making an official debut in the Marvels

Bruh that time travel thing really being ignited by Dr. Strange is actually mind blowing. Loki would've never gotten the Tesseract and Slyvie would never have left the multiverse in chaos. He foresaw all of that, which means maybe he knows in his heart that he is responsible for something much worse, and why he was so accepting of Peter. He wanted to do a good deed and it went horribly wrong which just made things worse.
I honestly think they will make superior Iron Man a “good guy” if he’s there. Cause like who’s really stopping Wanda if she’s evil. He def needs to help fight her.

What If...the fact that one variant of Strange is called "Defender Strange" is because he is the leader of the team the Defenders, but the members are all variants of current(MCU) characters. So it could be a team with the Hulk (Ed Norton), The Punisher (Thomas Jane), Silver Surfer (Doug Jones), Daredevil (Ben Affleck) and Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage). Probably couldn't get them to be in a coordinated scene, but maybe just a cameo appearance. Like when Defender Strange gets back to his universe, they are all waiting there for him.

I don't think Wanda is going to be the antagonist like we are being led to believe with the teasers and trailers. After Westview I think Wanda has been exploring her powers and coming to terms with what she has learned in the Darkholde. She has kept to herself because the world sees her as a villain after Civil War and now after Westview. Wanda has even started to believe herself to be evil as well, but that is part of her growth as a hero. Once she gets over this shame/guilt she will arise as the hero.
I bet the Wanda from Tom Cruises Toni Starks universe is the Villain. In this universe Tony stark used the infinity stones for himself. So there is neither a ultron or a vision. Without a vision Wanda never becomes the Wanda we know. And she kills all the mutants of their world.
It'll be Wanda, possessing a bunch of other Wanda's in other timelines. She's the villain.
That'd be lame. Especially since Strange's supposed to be the hero. Maybe she'd be a lesser villain to the main bad.

That scene we see strange talking to Wanda by all the trees. That one clip of just strange and the camera pans left to right. I think that's a trailer trick and we are seeing the world shift around him to the red dark place we see him talking to her in. I think we see the transition but without seeing it. You know how marvel likes to show us stuff in trailers but it's different in the movie.
The official poster for MOM is reminiscent of the What If… opening because of all the shards in the air

The only problem I have with your theory is that there are 2 Wanda's in one of those shots. I think her reading the Darkholde will likely play a HUGE part, but (like Wen Wu) she's being manipulated by someone taking advantage of her grief.

But unlike Wen Wu, it won't be a lie. Whoever is manipulating her will be using the actual souls that were in her children. (maybe the captured souls of two sacrificed children that Wanda accidentally "borrowed" from a demon realm which then returned to that demon realm.)

I think they are setting up for House of M because in that shot of the Doctor Strange statue, those trees are just like the ones Wanda and Strange met under to speak about the multiverse. Also, the windmill things on top of the surrounding buildings are shaped like her head piece. So is the detailing on the statue's boots. I think, instead of Magneto, it'll be Strange.
I can't wait to hear all of Doug's theories about Doctor Strange 2. The chaos going on in this trailer is absolutely amazing and watching this in IMAX is going to be EPIC.

This might be a weird theory but what if this movie is all about Wanda doing the opposite of the House of M storyline? The twist would be that in order to do so she needs to relinquish her Scarlet Witch powers like the ability to perform telekinesis, potentially heal, jump through dimensions, invade people's minds, etc.
Noticed those handcuffs locking on their own, could've just been magic or technology, or could it of been... someone who can manipulate metal? In at least one of these universes I'm sure we all know who Wandas dad is, js. Might he be apart of the Illuminati as well? hmmmmm

Probably just due to the concept of the channel and the ways he goes about things. I don’t follow him, so I’m not sure how careful he is about spoiling things when on social media or anything like that. But ScreenCrush is the complete opposite type of channel where not sharing spoilers is something he takes pride in. But I’m sure there’s more to it.

Wanda breakng the multiverse to save her children is a bit too similar to Fisk's plan in Into the Spider-Verse.

I think the Wanda aspect we are being fooled on. We definitely see TWO Wandas, one regular and one in Scarlet Witch clothing. I think there will be our Wanda and then an evil off the rails Wanda. So she'll be both a protagonist and an antagonist. Which is ironic because I think we're getting that with Strange himself, perhaps even Mordo as well. I like this idea that anyone and everyone is both a hero and a villain in this movie.
I mean ANY shot of Wanda as the scarlet with is definitely our Wanda because the scarlet witch is a nexus being.

I wonder if the guy in flames flying through the air is Johnny Storm/Human Torch from the Fantastic Four? That was my first thought upon seeing that character in the trailer. Be one way of bringing them into the MCU or us seeing them in their Universe.

I was wondering about the Heavy Spoilers dig too. I'm team Ryan all day hit would love to know the origin.
I think these digs are all in good fun, Ryan does it often enough when they interact on twitter, too.
I think it was a comeback dig as Heavy spoilers says something in a Multiverse trailer breakdown video, says something like, the cyclone outside the ruined sanctum where evil strange meets our strange, “an endless void that looks something like Ryan Areys mums…….” Heavy spoilers break down was yesterday so before this. I'm guessing Knull will be the new villain, the black creatures certainly look like the 'Living Abyss'. It would also bring VENOM and other symbiotes inline with the MCU
Why have two cells one with Chavez and one be empty unless it's for strange or already occupied by someone else possibly Wanda's children and I feel like that's what makes Wanda kill these guys tbh and I think that's why we get the slow shot of the cells in her eyes reflection because her kids are in there maybe even that alternate version of herself we see.
That might be the children cause marvel loves to cut things out of the trailer or change the scene entirely.

Could the guy Wanda's fighting be an Adam Warlock or Vision? If you look, when you can see his face, you can see what looks like the infinity stone in their foreheads.
Adam Warlock would be extremely unlikely as it seems they'll be introducing him in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
