I'll have lots more footage coming soon.
Don’t forget to leave a positive rating on the workshop!
I was already many months into creating this coaster, but I decided to use it for Roundup 500 and put even more detail and passion into it. Of course, this meant that its release got pushed back a lot, but I know you all will enjoy it and I thank you for your patience!
Update: So out of less than 20 submissions, this somehow wasn't even an honorable mention in Roundup 500. This is the third time I've entered a ride in a contest and been excluded from honorable mention. Not sure why that is, but thanks NL2 team. Love the appreciation.
Hex Flight is a theoretical Arrow 4D coaster meant to show what a heavily themed, story-driven 4D coaster could have looked like. The ride utilizes a variety of strange and intense inversions to accompany the ominous theme and keep the ride experience unpredictable. The backstory of the ride centers on a witch that's rumored to live in a cabin deep within the haunted bog, and curious people (riders) want to know the truth. The dense, overgrown queue includes abandoned camps from previous trespassers with signage warning others to turn back. Those in the queue sneak through the back of the cabin (station), make their way to the top floor, where they encounter the witch (theoretically would be the main control operator above the loading platform). The hallucinogenic fog riders were exposed to causes them to believe they have been cursed and are taken on a flight of madness and terror- a Hex Flight, if you will. The story concludes that the rumored activity was true, but the intense hallucinations (the ride) scare trespassers away, leaving the witch to live on. This ride is my most heavily themed yet and took me months to make, but I'm very proud of it and I hope you enjoy it!
Fun Fact: This ride reuses the station and terrain for an old dueling wooden coaster that I never posted, so I put a bunch of easter eggs for it around the ride. I will probably remake that coaster and share it one day, but not right now.
NOTE: Change your settings in the main menu if you experience lag. This is by far my most detailed single ride yet, so changing

Keeping a normal loop in the layout is very funny to me

When you mix a roller coaster with a KMG Speed (probably my favorite carnival ride). Double pure fun.

It's really rare for a 4D to get entered into these contests, so kudos for making one! Music was well chosen to edit to and the fire effects during the ride were great. In the end we weren't sure how the captions on screen that give the story actually played out in relation to the coaster. In the end we didn't see how the story applied, and just enjoyed a really massive 4D coaster. Connecting the story to the ride experience is rather tricky, and even more so on a 4D where people are flipped in every direction. There isn't much time to focus riders on any particular spot to further tell the story. Most of this video is the POV, and not having cinematic shots hurt the entry. Also, please do not show uncut trips up the lift hill if this has nothing to do with the ride experience. It slows the video down quite a bit. In the end, we loved the bonkers new ideas for a 4D and really want to try them! With some additional care you can find ways to work your story into the ride in a way that the riders, even in the chaos of a 4D, can pick up on. That plus some short cut shots edited smartly to the music would really enhance your next entry.
