I have really enjoyed this series. As you said "who would of thought" this little rifle has the potential to shoot so damb good, and like you said better glass may even tighten it up more. RUGER💥🏆

Thanks for watching bud. Ive had a ton of fun making this series. I figured the rifle would shoot well but never expected how well its done. Its just a pleasure to shoot.

I load 65 grain game king and 68 grain otm for my ruger.
I stack my targets so I get four five shot groups and the accumulated 20 shot group.
Love your work, keep it up.

My groups with 75 grain were running inch and half, trigger felt like five pound. Added a timney triggers back to sub MOA I have some black 75 grain good hunting ammo don't want to waste it for target practice. Still have some Hornady 75 gr steel match and it shoots MOA, they say Fiocchi light grain ammo shoots real good. Try 50 inch pound and not put the action in a bind. Now my plastic stock flexes so I loctite the action screws. You can order a spring and get the pull down to two pounds a lot cheaper than a timney trigger.

Thank you again for a great video. May I suggest, CCI BR-4 primers and a LEE Precision Factory Crimp die. I know the Sierra 69gr MK does not have a crimping groove, cannelure, one is not needed to reek the benefits. As explained to me, many years ago, the pressure curve is very important. The crimp will help eliminate the pressure curve fluctuation you may be experiencing. To be accurate, we must reduce the variables, this is one way. It decreases a variable, and makes ammunition more stable in the sense that the bullets is now securely held in place. I have been doing this for at least 15 years, and it works. I will send you a link to a video soon, I believe it will prove instrumental. Thank you again and keep well. Dave & The Girls

Hey how's it going! Yeah actually i do crimp my loads I had been told the same thing by a fella back in the day. I know Id really like to find some of those primers but they are non-existent around me. Hopefully Ill be able to find some at some point.. Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support!

@@TheHide funny, I'm late to this video, but I was curious if you crimped at all. I've heard precision match shooters dont crimp. I always do a medium crimp for my AR ammo (223) and a light crimp for my 30.06 and rem 223 bolt action. Great video !

I bought one Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 and liked it so much that I got another. To be honest they have both shot factory ammo so well that I haven't bothered with load development, but after watching your series on this rifle I'm inspired to head to my loading bench. In the past when I've developed loads for any .223 rifle, I also used Varget, but with match primers. Those primers are a bit hard to find and very costly if you can find them. One of my prize possessions is an 18" barreled Ruger American Carbine in .358 Win. Only 300 were ever made. Great video series!

My friend... how can it be that you have that variation of precision and speed between one group and the others, if the powder load is the same, I don't understand...?

you should try some CFE223 powder

I use that powder all the time with my 223 bullets and find 25.2 gr. is just about right with both Sierra 69gr. & 77gr. BTHP

Now that you`ve got a half way decent load figured out, move your OAL around to dial it right in.

    • @TheHide
      @TheHide  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Unfortunately only able to run at mag length while still being able too utilize the AR mags. That's a big plus side to this rifle being able to use those mags so I think Ill probably stick with that loading. At this point I think really trying anything else is just chasing ghosts with as well as this load shoots considering what the rifle is lol. Thanks for watching!

@@TheHide Amen brother, i get what you`re saying, yup, mags limit ya for sure. Are you using metal mags, or the plastic mags.
Metal mags are thinner, you might be able to squeeze out some more OAL there. Plastic mags being thick, you can lose OAL for sure.
And thank you for responding, most youtube folks dont. I enjoy watching what you`re doing with your hobby.

@@Boomerfootball1 If you're running the rounds through a magazine in semi-auto then yes i would recommend a crimp. If you want to single feed them in the rifle then no crimp would be needed. Hope this helps.

I dont know what twist rate your barrel is, but they sure look like they are key holing to me.
EDIT: after seeing the target close up, doesn`t look like it was key holing afterall. I watched it again, then heard the 1-8 twist.
As for your data on the target, all looks written with the same data numbers on all three, but yet the group size is different. (???)
Absolutely, dump that walmart simmons chinese scope... absolutely junk. Go step up to a Riton X5 Conquer or the NEW Vortex Striker. The gun is worth that.
