You can’t use the cutting board to prep food because of the polycrilic.

I suspected the same & I noticed the board Kayla has in this video has stickers indicating for decor only, so probably good for all of us to look for that purchasing blanks.

Thank you - I haven’t tried to put vinyl on my wood blanks yet, so this was great to be aware of ahead of time. Have you noticed this problem with all types or only certain ones like bamboo? I’m not 100% sure what my blanks are but I assume vinyl would adhere better on “real” vs other? Thanks again!

Would you be able to you this over stained wood? I’m making door hangers and the vinyl stuck to the wood but I’m noticing that some spots it’s coming up. I did put an acrylic finish on it before adding vinyl
What if you want to add polycrylic on a painted surface then add a matte vinyl, will it affect the paint and will the vinyl still stick since you would not get to sand the surface?
Do you need to sand between costs of poly? And how long do you let it dry between coats and before applying vinyl?

Would another layer of poly OVER the decal be beneficial in holding the decal down? I am in the process of putting a decal on a painted / poly cornhole (so food prep is not an issue, lol). Just wondering if I poly over it. Thanks.

You mentioned a better quality vinyl. can you tell me a brand? I’m doing things that stay out side and the vinyl is coming off.
Do I use heat transfer vinyl or adhesive vinyl... I'm so lost when it comes to this? I work with smooth surface wood..

Did you let polycrylic dty before applying sticker
I have also use mad podge, thats works well. I put it on the wood then after I apply the vinyl I put 1 to 2 coats on top.

How did you get it to work? I just tried that because it wasn’t sticking and it won’t work either
@@WhiteJessica the other way is to put the mod podge on the wood and let it dry, and then iron on the paper. You could then put on a coat or two of the mod podge over the print or paper. One lady I watched sprays the paper from the back to dampen it then lays it on the wet mod podge, I tried that and it worked well. I hope this helps

Is varnishing the wood an alternative to this one?
I Was told if you use permanent vinyl you didn't have to prep the wood. I'm a newbie. Is this true as long as I gently sand it down the permanent vinyl will stay?
Could they not cut on the reverse side? Or can the vinyl be sealed for it to cut on?

Adding polycrylic and vinyl makes it not food safe so it is only for decor

I’ve tried this with 2 different gifts and the vinyl won’t stick. Does anyone have any ideas?
Does the polycrylic leave a smell like polyeurathane
Polycrylic has lower VOC's than polyeurathane. I notice a smell while I'm painting it on and ventilate the room but it quickly goes away and I don't notice it at all after it dries.
