Thanks for pointing this out. 🙂 I suspected the same & I noticed the board Kayla has in this video has stickers indicating for decor only, so probably good for all of us to look for that purchasing blanks.
@@MammaFett yes, thank you! This was just an example for my video but it would definitely be important to let anyone know if they are making this as a gift. Especially since I gave the example of it as a gift in the video.
Just searched for a video like this and I always appreciate when your name comes up! Your videos are always inspiring or helpful! I needed a quick fix and you came through!!
Weren’t you going to be coming out with a video on your favorite fonts? I’m looking forward to watching it! Could you tell me which font you used for this project? Thx
Would another layer of poly OVER the decal be beneficial in holding the decal down? I am in the process of putting a decal on a painted / poly cornhole (so food prep is not an issue, lol). Just wondering if I poly over it. Thanks.
@@WhiteJessica the other way is to put the mod podge on the wood and let it dry, and then iron on the paper. You could then put on a coat or two of the mod podge over the print or paper. One lady I watched sprays the paper from the back to dampen it then lays it on the wet mod podge, I tried that and it worked well. I hope this helps
What if you want to add polycrylic on a painted surface then add a matte vinyl, will it affect the paint and will the vinyl still stick since you would not get to sand the surface?
I Was told if you use permanent vinyl you didn't have to prep the wood. I'm a newbie. Is this true as long as I gently sand it down the permanent vinyl will stay?
Would you be able to you this over stained wood? I’m making door hangers and the vinyl stuck to the wood but I’m noticing that some spots it’s coming up. I did put an acrylic finish on it before adding vinyl
Thank you - I haven’t tried to put vinyl on my wood blanks yet, so this was great to be aware of ahead of time. Have you noticed this problem with all types or only certain ones like bamboo? I’m not 100% sure what my blanks are but I assume vinyl would adhere better on “real” vs other? Thanks again!
Polycrylic has lower VOC's than polyeurathane. I notice a smell while I'm painting it on and ventilate the room but it quickly goes away and I don't notice it at all after it dries.
Do I use heat transfer vinyl or adhesive vinyl... I'm so lost when it comes to this? I work with smooth surface wood.. I don't have a vinyl machine so will need someone local to make me something but not sure what to ask for? Please help me!!! 🤦♀️🙏☺️
You can’t use the cutting board to prep food because of the polycrilic.
Thanks for pointing this out. 🙂

Yes! I should have mentioned that in the video. This is for decor purposes..
@@KaylasCricutCreations Be sure to tell the recipients that as well so they don’t get sick.

I just pinned this comment so others can see as well since I forgot to mention that in the video.

Omg thank you so much!! I'm so glad my videos are helpful! ♥️
Thank you for this! I wish I would have known about this trick months ago! I struggled so hard with a wood piece I was giving as a wedding gift!
I always love your videos. Easy to understand, thorough directions! Thanks

I have also use mad podge, thats works well. I put it on the wood then after I apply the vinyl I put 1 to 2 coats on top.
Awesome! I can see how that would work well too! :)
How did you get it to work? I just tried that because it wasn’t sticking and it won’t work either

Love it thanks for sharing!!! What’s a really good vinyl! ?
Love it❤ is this for decorative purposes only?
Did you let polycrylic dty before applying sticker
Thanks so much. Will food safe sealer work the same?
Great video, love. Thanks for sharing!
You mentioned a better quality vinyl. can you tell me a brand? I’m doing things that stay out side and the vinyl is coming off.
Thank you so much for this video. I too was having a hard time getting the vinyl to stick to wood. Going to the store now :)
HI, i like your tutorial. Question- I would like to find out if one can paint with acrylic paint over the pyolicrylic
Hi there! Will a water based polyurethane work too? Or does it have to be polycrylic?
I bought bamboo pens , wanted to add coworkers names to them . New to Cricut crafting . Please advise😊
Could they not cut on the reverse side? Or can the vinyl be sealed for it to cut on?
Could I use polyurethane? Or has to be polycrylic?
Thank you !!! I needed to see this!! ❤
You are so welcome! ❤❤
Can you tell us what font you used for Williams? Such a nice gift for a wedding! Thanks!!
I was going to ask the same question. Love that don’t!!
Love that font!
It is called Weather Sunday. I downloaded it from Dafont. It is such a pretty font!
Someone mentioned in the comments & I forgot to say it in the video. If giving it as a wedding gift just let them know it’s not food safe. ❤
@@KaylasCricutCreations Thanks! It’s a lovely font!!
Can you paint the board a color?? I know you can't if you're going to use it to cut food.

Does it have to be water base or can I use an oil base?
Thanks! I'm going to give this a try!
Is varnishing the wood an alternative to this one?
Thank you! Beautiful
Do you need to sand between costs of poly? And how long do you let it dry between coats and before applying vinyl?
Thank you! This helps me a lot!

What kind of vinyl did you use
Wondering the same?

Thank you !!! What vinyl do u use and what letter?
In the video description in says she uses ‘matte Oracal 651 vinyl’.
I’m unsure of the font though.
It is called Weather Sunday. I downloaded it from Dafont. 🥰
Thank you for the easy-to-understand instructions. I’d love to make some of these, but the link to the wood board isn’t working.
I tried to fix the link. Is it working now?
@@KaylasCricutCreations It’s not but I’ll just go and find it, no worries!
Can I use mod pudge?
Does the polycrylic leave a smell like polyeurathane
Polycrylic has lower VOC's than polyeurathane. I notice a smell while I'm painting it on and ventilate the room but it quickly goes away and I don't notice it at all after it dries.
Very helpful
Can this be used with food...
It’s not! I like to use it for decoration.
I like this. Is the cutting board only for decor or can you actually use it?
Adding polycrylic and vinyl makes it not food safe so it is only for decor
@@KaylasCricutCreations Thank you

Permanent adhesive vinyl

@@KaylasCricutCreations thank you for the reply despite your busy schedule
I’ve tried this with 2 different gifts and the vinyl won’t stick. Does anyone have any ideas?
That's not Food Safe to add Polycrylic! Is there another food-safe way?
Is there a way to make this food safe?
Please may i ask which cricut is best for creating and cutting out stickers please, have sub love your videos so helpful and informative
