Little Easter egg I found: so when Evbo breaks into SeaWatt’s private vault in the bank you can spot an armor stand with chain boots, who wears chain boots? The parkour fighters, where does SeaWatt go after Evbo becomes champion? The 5th layer, who inhabits the 5th layer? The parkour fighters
I actually have a few burning questions about Parkour Civilization: 1. We establish in the opening minutes that Noobs are not permitted to break blocks, but we also see that they are ABLE to, just not permitted. It's also established that Pros and higher ARE allowed to place/break blocks. Yet, even with the fate of the world and everyone in it on the line, Evbo in champion boots (capable of breaking barriers) upon seeing the block chests empty simply gives up? Verily we can assume that breaking the grass blocks or the tree in the Pro practice area is probably some sort of faux pas, possibly even illegal, but we know Evbo is willing to break the rules from act 1 when he gets the barrier by breaking a grass block atop the chest. For story reasons, I undertsand wanting to show that his parkour course is still assembled in the practice area, but I don't see any in-world justification for why he would not break a few logs, dirt blocks, or chests in this situation. It's like breaking the world building for the purpose of world building. Is some sort of "rule" enacted by the champion after their 1st encounter to prevent him from breaking blocks? Wouldn't his own diamond boots negate that effect? Assuming the answers to the previous 2 questions are "yes" and "no" respectively, how is he still able to break the barriers at the foot of the Parkour Temple? 1.5. I feel like while the above example is particularly egregious, I am willing to suspend my disbelief for other, similar cases. For instance, I can convince myself that there is some sort of cosmic force or enforcing agency that would prevent someone on the pro or master level from simply getting a few stacks of blocks through the various available channels to do so and towering up to ascend levels. Especially because accepting that towering up is impossible is critical for several major plot points. I can also accept that despite needing a barrier block for the impossible jump in the 1st temple, there may be some lore justification for never bringing any blocks into subsequent rankup attempts, but I don't think a similar excuse can be made for giving up on finding blocks in the final climb simply because the chests are empty, he even sees his own parkour course, reflects that other pros COULD HAVE broken it, and does not disassemble it. 2. What exactly are the conditions for dealing damage with a parkour attack? In most cases, the attack is effective regardless of if a parkour battle is accepted, attacks can even take effect without the target knowing they are being attacked before they are hit. This facet of parkour attacks is extremely plot critical at several key moments, but towards the end of the 2nd movie, we see this logic come in to play again when the villain kills seawatt, but then when evbo subsequently builds an attack for the villain, the villain just-- says "no" and walks away? How is that allowed? At first I thought that maybe the attacks have a limited radius, and if the villain leaves that radius before the attack is executed, the attack will miss, but how does that explain earlier when an attack is executed on Evbo by a distant observer to grant him levitation during the crystal challenge? Was he just close enough? 3. On that topic, and this honestly is probably just a "because movie" sort of thing, what exactly are the conditions for landing an attack? We can obviously say that if you miss a jump in your defense or counterattack, you are hit, but what about other cases where we get hit? We see Evbo take damage from an attack because it involves blocks he does not have in his possession, but it's later established that if he had made a more difficult jump using blocks he DID have, he could've negated the attack. Does the targets lack of knowledge of a rule preclude that rule from being enacted, surely he should not take damage until he has had the opportunity to attempt a counter in the absence of the ability to defend, we see in future battles that if the target does not have the correct blocks to replicate an attack, they do not take damage until they fail a counter. Or is simply the act of refusing to act a different condition for being damaged? There clearly isn't a time limit on building/executing your defense/counter, only the stipulation that you are only granted one attempt. So, is simply lacking any intent to defend or counter a condition that results in taking damage, or is it accepting that you have been defeated? Some other system? 4. We see an instance where 2 players set up attacks to either side of the target, how would a defense or counter work in this case? Is a defense even possible? Is the difficulty of the 2 attacks additive, or does the target only need to defend/counter the more powerful of the 2? How would this sort of mechanic extend to a 2v2?
These are so fun for me to read and I will try my best to answer. Short answer to start, I definitely will say there are probably a lot of plot holes with my logic, but to me it was fine since I was just having fun making it and doing the best I could. But anyways lemme give them a try: 1/1.5 - I actually feel like I have a somewhat fulfilling answer for this one, since people always ask why couldn't I just build up. My thoughts - The entire world is a fictional, parkour-based minecraft, meaning the traditional minecraft world style doesn't apply. Building isn't a thing that has any value, all value stems from being able to do parkour jumps of different sorts, so the concept of building straight up doesn't mean anything to anyone. And as for me not breaking course when I needed blocks, I thought about it while making and just came to the conclusion that if I was frantically trying to get back up to the top, I would be 1) in panic mode and forget the obvious and 2) not want to waste time breaking blocks. So that part was more just a story choice. 2 - Parkour attacks are intention based! At least that's what I thought of, I didn't really have a place in the story to explain that but yeah, it's basically like a battle is started if you have the intention + a jump (Intention part is kind of hinted at with the potion effects). As for the villain interaction, unless I'm forgetting another part, but the one where I suggest we parkour race was meant as a suggestion, not a declaration of battle. If we're going into details though, I would expect there to be some reasonable radius for a battle to be started. What that is, I don't know LOL 3 - I would probably resort to the intent-based system for the battles that result in: having no blocks and can't counter with anything. As for landing an attack, I see it as: Someone fails to defend the exact attack = damage, someone attempts to make a harder counter and fails = damage, accepting defeat = damage via intent 4 - The rules of parkour civilization are forgiving, I say one counter attempt per attack These might not make sense, but I truly have fun thinking about it regardless!
here's my interpretation. 1. The champion made it so that he cannot break blocks, however he forgot about barrier blocks because he didnt expect anybody to be able to break them in the first place and Evbo's champion boots would not negate this since he needs the command blocks to change it back. 1.5 Since above you appears as a solid floor if you do not have boots at a tier at or above that level, perhapse these blocks also act solid to people who are at a tier below them. 2+3. Since Evbo never completes the attack the villain doesnt have to respond to it (one example that shows to me that landing the jump starts the battle is at 14:24 in parkour civilisation 2 where Evbo builds and does the jump as fast as he can so that the enemy to lock the enemy in the battle, although one thing about that scene is that Evbo shouldnt actually have to place those blocks there since we see at 1:01:20 in parkour civilisation 1 that you dont need blocks to attack or defend and the jump is the same regardless of if he placed the blocks or not.), If somebody fails a response or chooses not to (beliving it is impossible for you to respond or not being aware of the attack is the same as choosing not to) they take damage based on what they are responding to. There is also probably some radius (although this leads to the problem where you would expect people to attack without their target knowing to get attacks that can't be responded to. idk maybe its dishonerable or something) 4.The best way i can see this working personally is that the strongest attack that is successful goes through and that is what the other person/team has to respond to, so one person on a team can fail as long as the other person succeeds. A good 2v2 strategy with this would probably be to have one person doing the jump the opponent attacked with (or one that is only slightly harder) while the other teammate is doing one that is much harder so that there is a chance for a big attack but a fallback in the quite likely chance that that person misses. damage is shared across a team (since they only take damage if everyone fails).
I spent a long time figuring out a system where 1v2 would make the solo player have to respond to both attacks but can also be scaled up to higher amounts of players. Im to lazy to try and figure out how to explain this, basically every person on a team responds to the strongest response for each attack. heres an example 2v2 (for this example) team 1 has players A and B team 2 has players C and D player A does attack 1 player B does attack 2 players C and D have to respond to attacks 1 and 2 player C counters attack 1 with attack 3 and defends attack 2 and then can do any attack (lets call it attack 4) player D counters attack 1 with attack 5 and fails attack 2 attack 3 is harder than attack 5 players A and B have to respond to attacks 3 and 4 (since 3 was the hardest response to 1, and 4 was the hardest response to 2 by default) player A counters 3 and 4 with 6 and 7 respectfully player B counters 3 and 4 with 8 and 9 respectfully 6 is harder than 8, 9 is harder than 7 player C has to respond to 6 and 9 player D only has to respond to 6 since they failed 2, 4 was a response to 2 and 9 was a response to 4 players A and B will have to respond to the stronger response between players C and D's responses to attack 6, and will have to respond to player C's response to attack 9 (since player D wont be responding to attack 9) I added the rule where you dont have to respond to responses of attacks you failed on because it feels wrong to have you fail an attack, you teammate counters that attack, the enemies counter that attack, now you have to respond to an attack that is stronger twice than one you failed on. I dont think there are any problems with this. Maybe the possibility to defend an attack and counter with a weaker attack can cause wierd situations where somebody failed on an attack that after being responded to is now easier, maybe if somebody defends an attack and the move they attack with next is the the strongest response to that attack, both players must respond.

The plot writing was genuinely really entertaining (even though the dialogue was a little grating, I know that's part of the style and what makes it less serious and more enjoyable) and I was 100% on his side the whole way through. Also, this little behind the scenes video made it so much better because we can see the thought you actually put behind the world building and how you're actually just a human making videos with friends just because you can! Evbo your content is awesome! I can't believe how far you've gotten into this series, I didn't start watching it till around the third episode or so but after that I got insanely addicted to it lol.
[strolls into the 8 month old comment section] hey B) parkour civilization is such a cool thing, i really enjoyed watching. I came up with an idea (a theory even) - every time we've seen the parkour check the noobs have to do for food, the chicken and beef have been in the same spots. i started thinking that maybe, that setup - with the chicken directly in front (requiring only one jump) and the beef off to the side (either two jumps, or one really risky jump) - was directly intended to discourage noobs from choosing the beef and getting acclimated to the slightly harder vertical jump. obviously, ranking up is impossible from the start, but it would be beneficial to the former champion's goals to keep the noobs from even reaching the point where they're able to figure that out, in case they react poorly and start disrupting things. thus, at the same time, the beef (more filling, which is needed to travel for ticket events) becomes less accessible, and the practice for harder jumps is discouraged.
going for the beef contains BOTH a one block jump and a one block vertical jump, unless they do a one block diagonal vertical jump, so they would have to do more than double just to get a bit more hunger and not get hunger 😭
I've actually been thinking of starting a spinoff to this series called "PvP Civilization". But the only problem is that I have zero friends who play Minecraft like that and no production quality 💀. Also, it would be pretty funny if you could upload bloopers on this channel
After season 2 has come out, and after the internet has exploded with a newfound appreciation for this series, I think it would be amazing if you would be willing to do another one of these! Perhaps a Q&A for lore questions, general talk about your ideas, or inviting your friends to talk about their characters as well (I know there's a LOT of talk about Seawatts character and his journey!)

I have an idea that could be used or based on for this series. A new parkour citizen arrives and their parkour skills improve faster than Evbo's did. They rank up and challenge Evbo to a parkour battle. (I ended the idea because it has other possible outcomes or ideas other people may want to come up with or change)
Ok but fr the map height to have all the layers is nuts and I really want this map I'm curious if the map height was increased with Cubic Chunks or something similar, or if it's just vanilla tricks done well

Im to lazy to try and figure out how to explain this, basically every person on a team responds to the strongest response for each attack. heres an example
2v2 (for this example)
team 1 has players A and B
team 2 has players C and D
player A does attack 1
player B does attack 2
players C and D have to respond to attacks 1 and 2
player C counters attack 1 with attack 3 and defends attack 2 and then can do any attack (lets call it attack 4)
player D counters attack 1 with attack 5 and fails attack 2
attack 3 is harder than attack 5
players A and B have to respond to attacks 3 and 4 (since 3 was the hardest response to 1, and 4 was the hardest response to 2 by default)
player A counters 3 and 4 with 6 and 7 respectfully
player B counters 3 and 4 with 8 and 9 respectfully
6 is harder than 8, 9 is harder than 7
player C has to respond to 6 and 9
player D only has to respond to 6 since they failed 2, 4 was a response to 2 and 9 was a response to 4
players A and B will have to respond to the stronger response between players C and D's responses to attack 6, and will have to respond to player C's response to attack 9 (since player D wont be responding to attack 9)
I added the rule where you dont have to respond to responses of attacks you failed on because it feels wrong to have you fail an attack, you teammate counters that attack, the enemies counter that attack, now you have to respond to an attack that is stronger twice than one you failed on.

I like to think that the further you go from the centre of the new level the more normal the Minecraft world becomes. Like a parkour atom bomb went off
The random 360 jumps is funny to me for some reason 😭

dude i genuinely thought youd be an annoying childrens content creator, youre such a laid back guy its amazing, i love the series (idk if its ironically or not😭) and im so glad youre just a cool guy, keep it up!!!!!
If he was a annoying child content creator he wont have hidden so many sneaky details
It's the fact that he does his various civilization series entirely in that obnoxious explanatory TikTok Accent™️ tone that gives such an awful impression
@Rhino1004 I really like the videos but something always felt a bit weird
I think it definitely is the sound effects and the way he talks that makes it feel a bit off
@@Rhino1004and i know why. kids see it as entertainment, while more mature people laugh their asses off from how exxagerated and dumb the whole series is. and i think he's trying to go for that. he's managed to actually make a series meant for kids enjoyable for non-kids. the madman.
For me its the fact that its a high effort story, about such a silly concept.

yeah. its like game theory. *realization* oh yeah.....
this is lowkey like the bible if god himself went down to explain it himself
really funny to see bc this series parallels gnosticism
That’s exactly what Jesus did.. God came in the form of a human to fulfill the Old Testament. Studying the Bible is one of the most life changing things I’ve ever done. It has legitimate fulfilled prophecies in it. I would strongly recommend looking into it, not only because it will bring you to relationship with God but because it is a masterpiece, the greatest story ever written.
@@aceynkWith the Parkour God as the Gnosis and the Champion as the Demiurge?
@@jediarcherbc709 evbo as Messiah, champion as Demiurge, 'levels' of parkour society as hylic/psychic/pneumatic, and the parkour god as the hidden God, yeah!
afaik, Gnosis wouldn't be the hidden God Himself, but rather ability to know Him. the levels of parkour society represent approaching Gnosis?
@@aceynk I don't know all the terms, I assumed it was called Gnosticism because the hidden god of that particular mythology was called Gnosis. I don't personally follow or believe in any religion, so I really only know this stuff from works of fiction and pop culture

Thank you for this video, i enjoyed learning about the lore and secrets and little easter eggs about Parkour Civ. It is IMO Probably the best and most enjoyable series. I have been watching the series multiple times, that's how good it is.
Honestly, I have to give massive props to you Evbo, you've got several generations hooked on your fun little minecraft movies.
WHO SAID THAT??? I MEANT: PARKOUR CIVILISATION IS THE PEAKEST OF PEAKS RAAAAAAAA‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥💀💀😭🗣️‼️‼️
Evbo your content is awesome! I can't believe how far you've gotten into this series, I didn't start watching it till around the third episode or so but after that I got insanely addicted to it lol.

yeah this series is up there with stampys lovley world and morph hid and seek.
BECAUSE IN PARKOUR CIVILIZATION, ITS A LOT SAFER TO JUST GO FOR THE CHICKEN INSTEAD OF THE BEEF 🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣
I love parkour civilisation, can’t wait for your season 2 videos and lore!
seeing you talk without vinebooms makes me uncomfortable
[strolls into the 8 month old comment section] hey B)
parkour civilization is such a cool thing, i really enjoyed watching.
Holy shit using the beda for foreshadowing is unironically genius

I've actually been thinking of starting a spinoff to this series called "PvP Civilization". But the only problem is that I have zero friends who play Minecraft like that and no production quality 💀. Also, it would be pretty funny if you could upload bloopers on this channel
Yeah bloopers would be great, I do wonder how many times they do mess up behind the scenes.
