    Griesmeel pudding is delicious 😍
In Germany we have Grießbrei which is a semolina pudding but without almonds.
And you're not that wrong: you can eat it for breakfast, dessert, when you're sick or (and this is the best version) your mother cooks it for you after a long cold afternoon playing outside ❤❤❤
Ah, childhood memories... it's comfort food for my generation but back in the past it was food for poor people especially farmers.
If you like it and you have the chance to eat it again: put some vanilla in it and try some stewed fruit like cherries or raspberries with it.
The red currant must be delicious, too. Never had it as a sauce but fresh and sweet from my grandma's and parents' gardens.
Thank you to Esther and all those wonderful people from the Netherlands for sending those treats 😊

  • @tamara4557

Sorry for my late reply, I was a bit under the weather last week. Glad you liked these as well. and that Justin enjoyed his snack. He's such a sweet and well trained dog he deserved a special treat.
Semolina indeed has a grainy texture. I'm sure you made the puddings correct :) You'll love other desserts we have, but since they have to be refrigerated we cannot sent them. From the semolina pudding pack you can also make porridge which used to be eaten for breakfast.
Here we have many peanut flavoured snacks which more often then not are savoury. Only the peanut butter you put on bread is slightly sweet, but no where near as sweet as for example the American peanut butter.
Sorry about the sterrenmunt tea which has licorice included Sataoshi. Since it is such a different taste from the candy licorice I hadn't realized that this was probably not really to your taste as well. I'll make it up someday.
We have many more different types of beer here. And if you like the Dutch beers, you'll probably like the Belgium beers as well. Perhaps one day a Dutch beer taste test hahaha.
I'll get you some more winterbok Shinichi.

@@mahakali1810 thank you so much!! And as far as the chemo goes it's really hitting me hard I've never had treatment the way this is! I was cancer free for 10yrs and last month I was told it was back so this time around they are doing really aggressive treatments!! I've been in the hospital for a week now because of my pain and the chemo is making me very week and unable to eat so they put a tiger tub down my nose and it sits in my jejunum(dont know if that is spelled right??) which is past the stomach not fun what so ever it takes afew hrs to get it in there it not like a regular feeding tube it has these claw like things that grip onto your intestines and pulls it down with the movement that your intestine do, it sucks🤬 but I need to have it so I can get some kind of nutrition into my body! So we're in Germany do you live? My youngest daughter goes there often her boyfriends family is there she has been fluent in German since she was about13 or 14 she went to school there for her senior year and she paid for it all on her own no help from anyone I was so proud of her! She is definitely one that I will never have to worry about she is a strong woman!!! But I've been blessed with all 3 of my kid's as a mum I couldn't ask for anything more than the one's I was blessed with!! And they keep me fighting if it wasn't for them I think I might of given up on life but they keep me going and I'm so thankful for that!! 😍by the way your English is great! When you go to the Netherlands visit Friesland in the north and get some oranjekoek, sugarbread, Frysian rye bread, Frysian clove cheese, dried Frisian sausage (a hard dried one, has in my opinion more flavour than a 'fresh' one), beerenburg (drink pure and/or mix it with cola) and Us Heit (its beer) all local stuff. Most is very difficult to get outside of Friesland so you have to go there to get it, but while there you can enjoy the nature and wide open spaces.

For the American no bake instant cheesecake if you add a pinch of salt and a dash of almond or vanilla extract to the cheese part and use salted butter in the crust it cuts way down on the sweetness or if you don't want to use salt mixing 2tbls of sour cream/plain Greek yogurt into the cheese also works.

I only know Dr Oertker brand from frozen pizza from Germany, puddings look good. European sweets are generally not as sugary as Asian sweets,Satoshi has European preference for dark chocolate, although in Amsterdam waffles are plentiful. Do get to Edam factory in Amsterdam&sample all the cheeses. It would be worth your while spending a few days in Berlin if you're already in Amsterdam,it's very unique compared to most cities. Thanks guys, I read about amazing beers I would love to try like toffee🍺

Peanut butter in the Netherlands tends to be more thicker and hearty. so maybe that's why she said peanut paste. Americans also ALWAYS get confused between peanut butter and peanut sauce. Its a condiment, not something you eat on a slice of bread xD And then there's indonesian sateh sauce which is where we got peanut sauce from and that's different too. usually it looks darker and tastes more spicy and earthy and isn't good with fries. While dutch peanut sauce is usually lighter and more fatty and in turn doesn't seem to taste that great with sate sticks and indonesian food because its missing that kick. Just a think I hope you're now aware off when you get here!
btw try: fries + peanut sauce + kroket. and then scoop out the kroket's ragout with fries and the peanut sauce. I usually eat what's left of it on a bun with more peanut sauce. It so satisfying xD
