Glad you liked the dutch candy and very impressed by the pronunciation! When you've tasted the strong taste while you ate the ontbijtkoek it was anis, it is used in quite some candy out here such as pepernoten, speculaas and beschuit met muisjes and more but it's more known cause several alcoholic drinks made of it such as Pastis, Raki, Absinth, Ouzo and Arak.

Those Lays chips are my favourite chips ever, I wish I picked up some more while I was there. The Dutchies have a lot of great snacks but I think Sweden does too. Expect those chocolate bars with salted licorice

Stroopwafels are great to put right on your cup of tea/coffee! The round form first perfectly on your hot beverage, and it softens the inside very well! Enjoy!

Dutch drop consists of some gummy substance (Gum Arabic, Guar Gum) with licquorice (zoethout) flavor, sugar and salt. The salt is the special part: it is not only normal kitchen salt : NaCl or Sodium Chloride, but also NH4Cl or Ammonium Chloride. The latter is very much an aquired taste.

Joppie sauce is actually delicious! It’s a saus made from mayo, yellow curry and onions. One of the sauces we eat with our fries from our Dutch snackbar aka “friettent”...

Loved the video and I've seen quite a few of them, but you give the treats a fair try. The cadillac sweets (autodrop) aren't typically dutch. You are right in thinking it's winegums, because they are. A dutch candy manufacturer made up that name, because the original package of the sweets fits in the compartment nearby the switch gear of a car, hence the name Autodrop (Car liqourice).

You should definitely put the “stroopwafel” in the microwave for 2 mins, and then eat it. Since the original fresh ones you get at the market are warm. It’s super delicious. 100% recommend giving it a try :)

We call chewy soft sweets jelly or gummy sweets. Wine Gums are a particular type that we have in the UK and are delicious. I hate liquorice but we have something Kat would love, I should send you something :)

In my opinion the Netherlands isnt represented chocolate wise Koetjesrepen and verkade chocolate arent that good you should really try Tony's chocelonly. Its a bit more expensive but it tastes much better and its fairtrade.
