'Rocky II' is my favourite of the whole series (and my 2nd fave film of all time). It keeps the gritty (hate using that word) feel of the original but ups the ante, not just in the boxing but in the personal stakes. It drags Rocky down to the depths of despair and brings him back up in the most glorious way possible. The fight itself is arguably the best of the series too - the perfect balance of creativity, length and drama.
That artist that Apollo Creed has is the famous LeRoy Neiman. A very well known artist in the 70s & 80s, known for his sports paintings. I had a tennis poster of his in my room as a kid.
Thanks for that, Patrick - I knew he looked familiar, and definitely recognize the name, but never knew! Appreciate it a ton. Thanks for watching! - Greg
Great reaction guys. Thank you. Two things: the actor who played Jurgens in the first film, Thayer David, died shortly before filming began, and some foreshadowing for both Rocky III (the presence of tigers) and the start of the Rambo franchise (commentator Stu Nahan talking about Apollo's need to draw "first blood").
Rocky III was the first one I saw in the theater, and I've always wished I could have experienced the second one in the theater. The energy must have been insane
Welcome! So glad you discovered us - and congrats on instantly becoming the toughest subscriber by virtue of being from Philly 😅 Can't wait to share Rocky 3! - G
The run when the kids joined him wasnt scripted. You can see Sylvester telling the kids to come with him when he turned around to face them. Stallone mentioned that in an interview once. Great review guys! thanks!
100%! And the crazy thing is, I think Gazo would have taken care of Rock rather than try to just keep milking him for cash like some OC types might. He just seemed to truly care about the guy, love it. - G
ME TOO! It's a little more difficult for us to find first watches for both of us that also are popular enough films/shows to do well on TH-cam since we worked in film and TV for a number of years... BUT! We do have a bunch coming that are first times for both of us and are always on the look out for suggestions that have slipped past our radars. - Greg
The greatest sports movie is THE FLYING SCOTSMAN. About Graeme Obree who set the hour record twice on a bike he built out of a washing machine. His rival was Chris Boardman who had a £500,000 LOTUS carbon fiber bike. Johnny Lee Miller stars I think it was before he married Angelina Jolee. Pippen from LOTR stars to it's a forgotten gem 💎 I don't think anyone has reacted to it yet you could be the first
The scene when ROCKY comes home and hits the trashcan is to remind us of the damage to his eyesight. The same right eye that Mickey slaps to let him know he wouldn't see Apollo cave in the side of his face.
@@videovillagereactions Just by the sheer amount of times Apollo is yelling "Eye of the Tiger! " Or "Gotta get back that Eye of the Tiger" when he's training Rocky in R3 you'd think it'd be hard to forget. 😆

@@darthroy yes, made fun of myself about the :41 sec mark (and have since seen Rocky 3) - Des

The "can you sign my head" guy played Emil in 'Robocop'.
GREAT CALL! I had no idea!! Love that - Greg
Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time.
Can't wait for Rocky 3!

I love foreshadowing and Easter eggs. Thanks for the info - Des
I love that you said the music is great. During the fight, it's majestic. So good
Stallone wrote ALL parts of ALL Rocky movies. NO co-writer.
Of the Creed movies: he wrote only the Rocky scenes.
You can tell too .. his scenes in creed are the only ones worth watching 🤣
I've always wondered what the tension was like in the theater when Rocky and Apollo were both trying to beat the 10 count!
Rocky III was the first one I saw in the theater, and I've always wished I could have experienced the second one in the theater. The energy must have been insane
Same! I wasn't around for it, personally, but it ALWAYS gets me. I can only imagine what people in the theater thought at the time. - Greg
Right???!!
Hey yo, you two are back! Nice to see you again. And yes, you'll be getting _Eye of the Tiger_ in the 3rd film. 💪🏻🐅
FINALLY!! Thanks for sticking with us! - Des
Philly chic born and raised. I subbed and excited for Rocky 3. 🥊🥊 And rest of franchise. Love the first two of CREED!!

That's so cool! I had no idea! Thanks for that. Rocky 3 coming soon! - Greg
One of Stallone's best films was Copland
I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen it in full - which is a sin we'll have to remedy on the channel! - G
Waiting for it!
Best end ever
Rocky could have given Gazzo about 20 grand to invest. He probably would have never had to fight again.

Sorry I missed the live reaction but for me it was 4 in the morning and I couldn't stay awake 😢! Anyway great reaction 👍❤
i would like to see a first watch from you both.

someone is a fan of the league. "forever unclean"
Ruxin has great life lessons - and cautionary tales 🤣 - Greg

39:08 -- Because he's had home field, eh ring advantage both times? In fact, incredibly, Apollo INSISTED that Rocky again have home ring advantage!!
Sylvester Stallone wrote all of the Rocky movies. He directed Rocky 2, 3, 4, and 6. Taylor Sheridan is the creator Tulsa King!
Thanks! I knew Taylor ran Tulsa King, but I thought he co-created it with Sly. I was wrong! Good stuff @reefism - Greg

Good call. - Des
Eye Of The Tiger is in Rocky 3 and Rocky 4.
It's hilarious to me that I forgot that - not once, but twice - despite having seen Rocky 1-3 a bunch 😂 - G
🐓If you 2 can catch this chicken, you can react to any movie. NOW GO GET EM!
🤣😂
Joe spinelli played gazo in the first two films ... believe it or not he was known for directing and acting in horror films
I had NO idea! That is so cool! Thanks for that, @rashadwalker8212! - Greg
Great reaction as always! Glad to see y’all back at it.
Rockys guilt wouldnt allow him to see the baby withoit adrian.
It's so heartbreakingly sweet.
So dude has apparently seen the Rocky franchise and yet thought Eye of the Tiger was from the first one, and is now expecting it in the 2nd one? 🤔
To be fair, it had been a long time since he’d seen them. Also, I thought it was in all of them 🤷🏼♀️thought it was the theme the whole time.

But all the Tigers in 2!!!
please watch the green mile
That's a great film. If Des hasn't seen it, we're totally watching it :) - Greg
I have. With a Q&A after with the cast! - Des
This guy's got a serious case of pseudobulbar affect...
Thank you, Doc 💀
Stop verbalizing every little emotional beat in this movie, and let her process it for herself.
I don’t mind it. Definitely have my own thoughts on it 😊- Des
