14:45 - well, that hit a nerve. considering how many pairs of Chuck Taylor, Converse, all-star sneakers I wore out while playing basketball on the blacktop playground. at $8.50 those were the top-of-the-line basketball sneakers.
The crowd in the last movie was a real boxing crowd. They filmed the movie scenes before the main event of a real fight. The people going nuts for Stallone was real.
Burt Young(Paulie) actually boxed in his younger years and Carl Weathers(Apollo Creed) played college football prior to his acting career. He also played in the Canadian Football League and the NFL.
There were three fights between Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier in the 1970's. While Ali won the latter two, the first one in 1971 was historic, as it was the first time that two undefeated champions fought (Ali had the title stripped from him four years earlier because he refused to be drafted in the Army for Vietnam), first time a major fight was held on closed-circuit television, and the first time Ali was not only defeated in a fight, a unanimous decision in Frazier's favor, but the first time he was knocked down.
if you look at the picture frame in the hallway in Paulies house you will see him in a officers uniform, most likely Vietnam, most likely special forces. If you lived in the 70s you saw a lot of this. They were treated like shit when they came home. It doesn't make him right at all, but it does let you know a little more about him, so maybe we can cut him a little slack occasionally.
Glad you liked the series. The one thing in the series that bothers me, is when Rocky gets an agent and he gets him a commercial, that agent set him up for failure, even though Rocky doesn't read well, maybe give him a script to study, so maybe he wouldn't have to use the "dummy cards" and things would have gone a lot easier. 2nd, the agent having signed Rocky to a contract, should have known his client better and used his strengths in things that he is better at, like photo/stills and voice over work. That agent set him up for failure and that wasn't a good agent.
In the first movie, I think an often overlooked important line for Adrian is delivered after she surprises Rocky with Butkus and he ask her what he eats. She says “He eats little turtles.”, lol. It really shows how comfortable she has become in her own skin because of Rocky to show her wit like that so quickly and easily, and shows her sense of humor has been similar to Rocky’s all along. IMO Adrian’s character development in general gets a little less credit than it deserves because it’s overshadowed by Rocky’s so much.
Hi. Stallone made other movies, other than, "Rocky and Rambo". "Demolition Man", "Night Hawk", "Cobra". I haven't seen other reactors, doing these movies.
Interesting how Rocky not only has home ring advantage in the first two movies but Apollo INSISTS on it in the second film!! Because he really wanted to not only humiliate Rocky but do so in front of his home crowd! RIP, Philadelphia Spectrum.
In case you guys don't know. Tommy Gun from the fith Rocky movie. Is a real boxer. He was would champ in the 90's. Tommy Morrison. He was even considered, the white Mike Tyson. He had incredible knock out power. Great head movement and foot work. His biggest down fall. Was his weak chin. He gets knockout quickly. But if he avoids being hit with a good shot. He most likely wins. And he is John Wayne's grandson. By the way, great video guys. You two have great conversations and the series. A+👍🏾 Peoplez 💯
As a 45 y old guy die hard Rocky fan since i'm 9.... little infos on the movie . Butkus was his real dog, the baby in the second is his, Talia Shire (Adrian) and Burt Young (Paulie)had a romance off camera PS :my fav is Rocky 2
The hat thing might not have been scripted-Sly could have alibed a line-he did in 2 when that “luv u Rocky” scream came from the crowd and he yelled back “luv u 2”
The spray up the nose is to clear the sinuses because they can only breathe through the nose. Supposed to anyway. A Fighter has to be able to breathe good ya know..
The first and especially third movies make it sound like the fighter/manager can just choose who they want the champ to fight against. I thought in real life the champ has to fight whoever the WBA/WBC/IBF/whatever tells them to...or else. Also what's really interesting in that in real life the Ring Magazine title/belt gets hardly any attention yet in the Rocky universe that's the only title/belt that exists.
@@NY1054Cool My point is though in real life there's no way it'd work that way. The governing bodies would insist the champ defend their title against the or at least one of the top contenders.
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp it happens in real life . Examples can be given . Rocky did fight some top ranked fighters. Hand picked does not mean bad opponents or push overs . They were good but were not like Lang . Rocky KO the German champion.
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp It’s happened in real life too where a champion is selectively matched up with opponents. They work it within the ranking system with their selective matching . Rocky III brought that reality into the movie . Rocky was selectively matched up with ranked opponents with some being mandatory and others discretionary . Rocky won due to natural ability while not having the eye of the tiger. Apollo helped Rocky get it back for his rematch with Lang . Rocky became a complete fighter.
Women weaken legs; totally accurate. No sexuals leading up to a fight if you want your legs strong. You pump one out, your legs are gonna be heavier and slower.
Believe it or not, the actor who played paulie competetively boxed for years prior to acting
You have to see "Creed 1" and "Creed 2". Rocky is in both films. The journey continues.
14:45 - well, that hit a nerve. considering how many pairs of Chuck Taylor, Converse, all-star sneakers I wore out while playing basketball on the blacktop playground. at $8.50 those were the top-of-the-line basketball sneakers.
its been awhile but I wore them also
The crowd in the last movie was a real boxing crowd. They filmed the movie scenes before the main event of a real fight. The people going nuts for Stallone was real.
yh i heard the same as well mate, apparently it wasnt scripted, just happened when the son and paulie bring rocky back
And Stallone's father is the one ringing the bell for the rounds.
I've heard that scene was shot after the real boxing match.
You MUST continue with CREED … Stallone got an Oscar nomination for his reprisal of Rocky. Also won a golden Globe.
Robbed of his much deserved Oscar.
the budget for the first film was so low a lot of the extras were friends. Sylvester's dad rings the bell in the fight.
You were talking about how "American" the movie is. Keep in mind, this movie came out during the bicentennial and is set in Philadelphia.
Would love to see you continue on to the creed franchise. They are a fantastic continuation in Rockys life.
Burt Young(Paulie) actually boxed in his younger years and Carl Weathers(Apollo Creed) played college football prior to his acting career. He also played in the Canadian Football League and the NFL.
Sly Stallone is also the artist for the paintings.
The guy singing by the fire is Sylvester Stallone's brother Frank Stallone. He had a musical career in the early 80's.

CREED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Creed! Creed! Creed!
1:15:18 - Eye of The Tiger in Rocky III is like Jason's hockey mask in Friday The 13th, part III... ICONIC!!!
You guys know the baby in rocky 2 is stallones real son
Yes, and Ludmilla Drago "Brigitte Nielsen"
was Sylvester Stallone's real life wife.
And in rocky 3 the blonde lady that kissed him in training was slys wife sasha @alexanderkaiser8770
spoiler
Not the reaction i expected today, but the one i needed! Sipping and enjoying this one for sure!
Cheers!
Mick (Burgess Meredith) was the first actor to play The Penguin before Danny DeVito or Colin Farrell. In the 60s comedy
0:11:00 If Generation Z is labeling Rocky a misogynist they can stick their soy lattes where the sun don't shine.

First blood is a must another incredible peformance by Slyvester.

Ludmilla Drago "Brigitte Nielsen"

The memorie line of mick talking to Rocky was taken from the Lengend Trainer Cuz De Amato,, Mike Tyson Mentor/ Trainer/ Father
He passed the test so Rocky is healthy. Keep in mind he exercises and eats right. He's like 60 and look at him
Great Reaction! Please do Creed 1-2
Fun Fact: The old man ringing the bell at the end of the first movie is Stallone's Dad.
Hi. Stallone made other movies, other than, "Rocky and Rambo". "Demolition Man", "Night Hawk", "Cobra". I haven't seen other reactors, doing these movies.
Tango and Cash is my fav (Non Rocky) of Sly’s I’m also in the minority who liked Oscar (it’s a comedy)

2:02:54 it is that you have no idea about sports and that numerous athletes, especially boxers, have died in the ring.
Oh, and regarding the end of the first fight, Apollo won by split decision (rounds Apollo won:rounds Rocky won) -- 9:6, 8:7, 7:8
hulk Hogan was 6'7 330, but after back surgery which compressed his spine, he shrunk 3 inches.
The hat thing might not have been scripted-Sly could have alibed a line-he did in 2 when that “luv u Rocky” scream came from the crowd and he yelled back “luv u 2”
This was amazing u guy’s awesome reaction all rocky movies at one’s happy birthday to me . Thanks
The cat has to be named after Admiral Fitzwallace on the West Wing
there 2 more rockys disguised as creed 1 +2
2:26:22 - Rocky´s son in Rocky Balboa was played by Milo Ventimiglia, NOT by Sage Stallone.
Creeeeeeed!!!!!
you have to react to the Creed movies.. period

Rocky fought some top contenders and some discretionary opponents. They were good fighters. But they were easy for Rocky based on his fighting style .
