- I taught this tune in my banjo video lesson subscription. If you'd like to learn this tune check out our website. ozarkbanjo.com...
Black lacquered cherry pot, brass hardware, an S shape scoop, and an engraved Man in the Moon inlay by Eden!
If you're watching this and wondering how to play it do not hesitate to become a member his lesson video for this is amazingly helpful it's not just a note by note instruction he actually walks through the options. I've only been playing a month but just in the first five minutes of watching this video stuff is clicking like it hasn't before. I swear I'm not a shill 😂
That's a lovely tune. I'm awaiting the arrival of my first ever banjo. I hope one day to play this well. 😊
I return to this video occasionally when I need a reminder that humans possess beauty and creativity. Thank you!
They say the Angels of Heaven play their music on Harps, music like this makes me think it's probably on banjo's...... beautiful music Lukas, Thanks you.
This is pure clawhammer beauty.
The B part especially is some of the loveliest clawhammering I've ever heard.
He's a great teacher too.
I'm 54 years old and bought a Banjo 5 weeks ago as I've always wanted to try and learn to play, I initially was learning to play Earl Scruggs style until I watched this video. I've now switched to clawhammer because you play this so beautifully & I'd love to get to this stage in the future. I'm going to subscribe to your online learning shortly but I'm in the UK and I'm unsure if I can. Thank You for this video.
I first saw this video a few years ago when I first started learning clawhammer banjo. Since then I have tried and given up repeatedly to learn your version, revisiting it every year or so to give it another shot. Im finally to the point where I can finally play through it, albeit a very rough rendition of the song. Hopefully in a couple more years I'll be able to play it as well as you. Thank you for the continued inspiration!
Hows it coming along?
@@Nick_Lamb poor. Hardly played the last year or so unfortunately
@McGby128 No time like the present :^) God Bless.
Triplet strums are a great touch best version of this I've heard
Oh Gawd! I do want that banjo….. the moon inlay broken the camels back…. Lovely tune and well played.
One day I hope that my clawhammer playing will be as clean and expressive as this playing.
Wow! Masterful and inspiring.
I've watched this video about 50 times. Never gets old. So good
Easily the best version of this tune I've ever heard. You're a freaking great clawhammer player. Setting out to learn this tune and will be stealing as much of this as possible.
Me too 😁
I believe it. I haven't heard others. But I love Lukas' playing so much I accept any credit given to him without validation.
Agree with Mullaly- best version I've ever heard. Wish you, lived next door so you could teach it to me! Your rhythm is amazing!
Beautiful finesse on the strings and your ear for melody is one of the best I've heard. This is the way I like to hear banjo. Great performance.
This is the perfect tune for your style. Incredible drop thumbing. Flawless.
This tune has convinced me to buy a banjo and learn clawhammer so i can take a stab at picking it one day. Fantastically beautiful.
3 years on and I hope you are killing it. Good luck
@@bobthabuilda1525 I wont lie to you homie, im not. I havent given up though!

I love your arrangements and your soulful playing Lukas. Always a pleasure to listen to you play,
Hell yes brother. Great tune and played so clean !
really close to being actual magic
I guess you don't play an instrument
I couldn't have said it better -- this is magic. Or the closest thing we humans have to it.
@@selfactualizer2099 I guess you're never not a douche.
Love your playing Lukas.
Truly a treat to behold this music from your artistic mind.

Just beautiful!
Beautiful tone to your instrument-wish I could see a close-up of the "Man in the Moon" inlay though.
If you watch his Cluck old hen video you can get a close-up of the inlay!
I think it whizzes by at about 1:57
Wonderful ! Wonderful ! Thank you so much.
Great sound and great musician.
I love your playing. Been saving a lot of yours and Eden's tunes on my favorites list. Love Eden"s fiddling too. Now I just noticed your harmony on the B part. I always did that by playing with someone else. Cool. tunes
Awesome. Great swing, tone and beautiful banjo. Thanks for sharing.
mesmerizing
This is so beautiful.
Absolutely Beautiful!!!
Lovely playing, and lovely banjo. Well done!
Absolutely beautiful playing! Gorgeous banjer, too, but 2 year wait? Ouch! :-)
Very nice
That's some lovely playing right there! Keep it up yo!
Lovely tone and groove.
Love this tune.
Clawhammer banjo looks like brazilian viola caipira (10 strings country acoustic guitar) old school playing. There's a famous brazilian musician, Almir Sater, that plays the viola caipira almost like that. But, instead of "hummer" the strings with the back of the nail, he pull out them with the nails and fingers. I'm gonna put the Almir Sater link here, so you can compare.th-cam.com/video/qoaPKXdO-oQ/w-d-xo.html
brilliant
re-watching this for the 1000th time and I am still in complete ore of your exceptional and beautiful playing. Do you have any of your music recording online anywhere?
It just took me 2 hours to learn this.
Awesome playing man!! Superb..
Just one question. Apart from the regular clawhammer with double thumbing, do you ever pluck the string with the index finger on its way up after the initial down-pluck?
Or is it the hammer ons and pull offs that I hear that way?
This playing is so fast I keep wondering whether there is a component like that..?
This incredible. Bravo.
Nice 👌
That scoop is called a Texas Scoop because it mimics the curves in the Rio Grande. Why not, kinda a cool name. Oh, and by the by, a *very*nice* "dance of the hands"! Love it.
Nicely done!
TOP !! Thankyou :)
beautiful banjo tune. Are you in sawmill tuning? Nice drop thumbing too...
Thanks, double c tuning
This is fanatic. Do you offer a lesson and tab on it via your website and subscription?
Wow! Wow!!! ❤️
Nice
8 people must be into pickin' and frownin'..
Aw this is wonderful. Love the backdrop. Where was this filmed ?
where can i learn how to play i’ve had a banjo for so long but i make very very very little progress
Love it
Cool
I THINK I see some upstrokes by the index or middle finger. Any way, which way your interpretation is great. I'm a scrugg's who started on old time. I'm starting reviewing songs such as Snow Drop. Again, well done...
Hell ya!!
are you using nylon strings?
Wooooooo
Is there tab available for this?
Big views
How long did it take to get to that level of playing?
Very nice. Is this tune in double C or did you tune the first string up to an E?
Double C
What kind of open back are you playing?
Incrível
Can I get the tuning? Awesome btw
Probably double C. gCGCD
Yoo
Yes, what tone ring?
What kind of tone ring does this banjo have?
What tone ring is in this Banjo?
What kind of headstock is on that banjo?
Sorry. Tuning???? Thanks
I'm not hearing picks only fingernails an flesh I not able to see very well.
If you buy their banjos... you will NOT play like this guy. Lol
