    I went camping in the woods for a few months. I started singing and a Raven swooped into my camp and just sat listening to me sing. That Raven imprinted onto me and became part of my camp. It even followed me from campsite to campsite for two months! At night it slept on the roof of my camper. Every morning when I came outside it would caw at me a cheerful "good morning," and I would start singing to it. It was amazing. The universe is beautiful!

      There’s so much that we don’t know about animals and how they see the world. They are truly underestimated. This little fox probably had not heard music before and was intrigued and enchanted. I pray everyday that those who are guardians to animals as pets or otherwise will have respect and kind hearts toward them & that abusers will one day answer to He who created the animal kingdom.

    Australian here. Moved out of the city with a mate onto a 3rd mates house he bought when he enlisted. We were to improve the property and put in gardens while he was away, in lieu of any rent. Anyway, about a month in, Australian Magpies started turning up. The kind that swoop territorially in mating season. But I used to make a pot of tea, go sit on the "yardkeeper's bench" we'd built at the top of the yard to survey out handywork as it progressed, and I'd play the a little tin whistle for them (badly.) And oh how'd they sing and play. They loved it, they'd warble and chirp and carry on at me, then playfully wrestle each other for the right to be closest to the bench. Loved those guys. These days I just play my guitar for the geckos.

      Thats awesome to hear, I live in Brisbane. I have made friends with magpies at all houses Ive lived at.
      People think there these savage things that do nothing but swoop. But if you chuck them a bit of food now and then, they will bring their babies to see you then the whole next generation gets to know you and they will chirp like and act happy to see you just like you explain. Same with kookaburras to some degree.

    • @phattjohnson
      @phattjohnson 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@juzzymac6772 That's it, I've not heard of (or seen) a swooping magpie in years, even in Brisbane. Other than that terrible incident in Glindemann Park park in 2011 which was pretty unfortunate.. but on the whole reports of swoops are going down year-to-year. Even if there's signs of "Caution: Magpies In This Area" near a school or hospital, walking past on a lunch break you usually see kids or staff feeding magpies.. I think we've almost found homeostasis :P

    Imagine this fox, having never heard music, as he walks around as though he isn’t sure what to do but can’t sit still. Like instinctual movement/dance. And then he looks around at the scenery as if he feels the need to experience that while hearing this. And then must come back round to watch this strange sound this man is making. It is pure innocence and shared experience and is beautiful.

Never heard that metallic vibrato in a bird's throat. ... All that assessing and sorting going on at the same time he wants to dance. Or run. Or maybe not. Music is the best invitation!! This man was so blessed by this experience!!!

      Strangely, I had a fox come and watch me practicing my drumming on a rubber pad while sitting on a park bench one night. I was tapping out a blues shuffle... A tight one. He was walking between two bushes 10 yards ahead and he stopped, looked at me then crept up with his head on the side staring... Like he couldn't work out what I or it was he was looking at/listening to. It was pretty intense, I wondered if he was going to pounce at me for a moment. Curious to see this fox reacting quite similarly... Would seem they are effected by rhythm, or interested by it anyway. Most curious!

    • @TannerSwizel
      @TannerSwizel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      @Goaty McGoatface Wildlife rules are set to insure two things. To prevent wild animal dependency on humans (food), and to prevent potentially dangerous wild animals from scaring humans into killing said animals for getting too close (misunderstood intentions). If it was a wolf or a bear I would reason with you on the latter, if this guy fed the fox to coax it on screen I would reason with you on the former. In this case if a guy plays a banjo and minimally dangerous wildlife happens to find him out of curiosity you might as well keep playing. Not the guy's fault for playing the banjo out in the middle of nowhere and happened to gain an audience. Him playing made no human dependency against the fox. The fox would likely never approach any other human later on unless they were playing an instrument, and even if it did it wouldn't cause any harm to either party however unlikely the reoccurrence. Humans and wildlife do not live exclusively from eachother, do not pretend it is or ever was like that. We don't have to act scarce just because mother nature decided to show up, and mother nature will never act scarce around us as long as we don't keep killing it off.

He played not for anyone in particular, only for the joy it gave him. But one night as the man was playing he had a visitor: a red Fox. The fox heard the music from afar and wished to hear more. Upon finding the Man with the banjo he sat upon a rock awaiting the next performance. The man, now having an audience, obliged. As the sun crept lower the fox went on his way, and the man went to sleep. The next evening, the man went to play his banjo to the sunset, as was his custom. This time, however, the red fox was waiting patiently upon the rock.”

      Foxes have insanely sensitive hearing, so while that fox is walking around him and changing where it's ears are pointed, It is hearing a vastly different version of the song because that fox can absolutely hear the sound reflecting off the trees, humans are capable of such feats but you basically need to train your hearing for years and usually only the blind can pull it off because they just need to rely on their hearing a lot more than most people.

    Lovely and a really nice soothing sound that banjo has, too. No wonder the fox came back to hear more.

    There is just nothing better than truly communing with a creature of another species, particularly if they are ‘wild’.

    That fox knew there could be no threat from a man creating such sweet sounds, so he came to hear, free from fear. Music soothes the savage beast.

      I don't want to be the turd in the punch bowl but that is clearly a domesticated fox that this person has raised - note the way it treats the person filming without threat as well as the man playing. It's a cute video and all but this fox is not wild and is quite used to being subservient in the presence of humans.
