I've become a whole ass new person ever since this was announced four years ago and I started waiting for it. I don't even know what to say now that it's out I can only imagine what it's been like for the devs. Is this still even called a Pik...man?
Oh wow! I... huh, I had never heard of this project before... but damn, 4 years? That's insane, man! But to play Pikmin 1 with all the improvements Pikmin 2 did to the gameplay has gotta be worth it!
@MikehMike01 ah, a fellow Mike! I remember Pikmin don't randomly trip now, so there's that. And to be perfectly frank, there's folks out there way more savvy than me when it comes to the technicalities with those two games, so they'd be able to answer. Sad to hear you're not enjoying the second game as much, though I'd say that's due to its level design and progression structure, not so much its engine. That's what I meant, the gameplay changes that are actually relevant to porting Pikmin 1 to 2's engine: the changes in how the game itself works, the tweaks to the controls, the way Pikmin work as a whole, all of that.
@@MikehMike01What version of Pikmin 1 did you play? The Wii and Switch versions have a lot of upgrades. The original Pikmin 1 for GameCube was _very_ rough. I didn't really like P2 either, but bringing P1's content into P2's engine will be a massive improvement to the overall experience.

@@Sylvia_Corvidev 4 is a good game, but is far too easy and has nothing to overshadow that flaw. Pikmin 3 is honestly peak (2 > 3 > 1 > 4) because even if it is easy, it heavily focuses on multitasking and the challenge comes from mission mode (best mode ever) pikmin 4, ironically despite its spam of "dandori" barley allows you to multitask with your two leaders, since one of them (oatchi) is needed for so many things, and the game is FAR too long for fast replays. Thus, the best parts of the game become the 22 dandori challenges (though only the 10 sage leaf ones are actually a challenge) and olimar's shipwreck tale, since its short and has no filler. Its to the point that often I treat Olimar's shipwreck tale as the main mode since when I want to play Pikmin 4 I normally just replay it.
@@marioluigibros.8176 First off, I wouldn't consider Pikmin 4 being easy a flaw. Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 4 are my two favorite Pikmin games but for completely different reasons: I play Pikmin 2 when I want to lock in and play a challenging game, and I play Pikmin 4 when I want to relax (with the exception of Sage Leaf Trials). A game being easy, as far as I'm concerned, is NOT a flaw (I mean, look at the Kirby games). However, while I dislike games like Animal Crossing for being TOO relaxing, Pikmin 4 is perfect because it still supplies me with a lot of fun gameplay and makes me need to think despite its relaxing-ness. On top of this, if Pikmin 4 is really too easy for you, you can simply play the game allowing yourselves no items or oatchi in combat (or don't upgrade Oatchi's combat abilities), and it will pose a decent challenge. I understand player-imposed difficulty isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is there. As for "nothing to overshadow it": - Not only does Pikmin 4 have the most overworld maps with 6, in my opinion, Pikmin 4 has the best ones. Admittedly, the first area is a bit bland, but the other five are excellent. In particular, Giant's Hearth is great with the fire pinecone puzzles and the giant furnace in the middle. I just find the Pikmin 4 areas really fun to traverse, FAR more so than the other three. - The caves in 4 are a lot more varied and unique than 2's for the most part, not just in the themes which I'd say 4 only has a _slight_ edge in, but the introduction of verticality and more puzzle elements make them really fun to go through - I actually really like a lot of the story elements, and think it being an alternate timeline "bad ending olimar" type thing is really cool, along with the even higher human presence than past Pikmin games - and Louie's just as great as ever. I also find the callbacks to previous games charming - The progression of the Flarlics is really cool to me, it causes the earlier easy areas to not be plowed through with 100 Pikmin, and makes the progression of the game overall better than previous entries - Ice Pikmin are probably the most interesting Pikmin Type to me, freezing and enemy and cracking them open is so satisfying. Yeah, they're overpowered, but honestly that's not a huge issue, especially with the type limit as I go over later - The night missions are great imo, even if they aren't used to their maximum potential. If this was the entire gameplay of the game it wouldn't be great, but as a thing you can do to break up normal days, they serve their purpose very well. The gameplay loop is just really satisfying, and my only complaint is I wish each night mission lasted another 30 seconds to a minute as they're all a bit short - I absolutely love the 3 Pikmin Type Limit, it makes strategizing a lot more interesting, as now you often have to give up the Purples and Ices in order to make sure you can more effectively deal with hazards, and it also makes your armies feel less cluttered with less of the constant switching that kinda annoyed me in past Pikmin games. More brain power being used is always good imo - You've gone over the Dandori missions/battles, but I want to say that I specifically love how they break up the gameplay, and make it a lot more varied, I feel like one always shows up right when I want to mix things up a bit - The enemies. How have I not mentioned the enemies. Unfortunately, my beloved Groink and Dirigibug aren't here, but I think the sheer variety and interesting mechanics shown in the enemies make up for it. The new elemental variants are fun as well, and as a huge Piklopedia nerd, I LOVED getting more lore on the species of PNF-404 - The new raw material system is great as it forces you to choose between upgrades and expanding the world map, and on the topic of upgrades at the base, I like Oatchi's upgrade system for a similar reason to the Flarlics. - Personally, I found the 3 captains of Pikmin 3 to be a bit much and usually used 2. And I think Oatchi being like a second captain but having different ability is more fun than just Olimar + Louie again - Groovy Longlegs is my favorite guy While Pikmin 2 can't be beat, I'd still say Pikmin 4 is a very close second. It's not PERFECT by any means - The soundtrack is a huge downgrade from 3 and especially 2, most of the bosses are a bit basic, the visuals are a downgrade from 3, and the auto-lock is annoying. But I still think it's great. In fact, without the four complaints I just mentioned, it may have been my favorite. It's a much more strategic, puzzle-based, and exploratory game than previous Pikmin games, and I would understand some not liking it. But nine times out of ten the complaint is that one or another in the game is making it "too easy". And I don't think that's very fair personally. Sorry if this was a lot, I love writing about things I'm passionate about

Congratulations on the release of this project, which I didn't know looks totally spectacular, thanks for the support in multiple languages and the local cooperative 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
the worst part about the original pikmin one was the fact that pikmin could die by clipping out of bounds. its easy to do, just try walking close to the sloped bridges and watch as pikmin quickly noclip to the backrooms. I did like how in one (at the least I don't remember if two did it as well) pikmin left behind could be found as sprouts. reincarnation folks! it was in the exact spot they were in though not the onion.

Beautiful stuff, I might have to be playing this asap!
Also the Dolphin looks so good in blue wow
I am beyond excited to play this!
YOOOOOOOO I WAS HERE!! TYSMMM PIKHACKER FOR MAKING THISSS!! HYPE IS REALLL
The pikmin 4 I always wanted attached to what I thought was just a remake of pikmin 1 in my favorite engine? This rules!
You love to see Fiddlebert making his appearance during the rando segments of the trailer
You did it!
Is that green Olimar...Fiddlebert?!
As per usual another cracked release, damn good job to all of you involved.
Okay this HAS to be PEAKMIN
Man oh man have I been waiting for this. Great work as always pikhacker!
Great job man looking forward to playing this
Seeing the libra get collected was all I needed to be sold on this mod.
This is well timed for me as I was just going down the modded Pikmin rabbit hole today.
Blue Olimar is my favorite character!
But seriously holy crap, congratulations on finally finishing this project everyone!!!!!
What an incredible feat! I cannot wait to check this out when I'm able!
i just beat the main and side story, i have never had this much fun playing pikmin since playing pikmin 1 for the first time
i think i can speak for most pikmin fans when i say:
“after 4 years in development, it was worth the wait!”
I am very pumped this is finally out.
Already downloaded and placed onto my gamecube sd2sp2 setup, hope to be blastin out some nostalgic pikmin fun
This is really fantastic and cool! It's like my childhood Pikmin fever dreams finally came true! You really outdone yourself with this great mod, and you certainly have great talent. I love the extra storylines and modes you developed, like the remixed levels and Louie's Quest. I can't wait to play this very creative mod. Pikmin 2 is still one of my all time favorite games that I play regularly and seeing this mod just fills me up with joy and excitement. Great job, PikHacker!🎉👏
Four whole years? That’s insane! I can tell the wait was worth it (:
Definitely excited that it’s (mostly) console compatible. Gonna add this to my flippy drive once it arrives
I've been keeping an eye on this for ages, I can not wait to get to this :D
FINALLY 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 ALSO HAPPY NEW YEAR PIKHACKER 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I LOVE YOU PIKHACKER
Congratulations for finishing it! I hope i can try it out soon.
could have called it Pikmin 1 Deluxe because its basically a deluxe package of content and quality.
like ACTUALLY deluxe and not Nintendo's usual "we added one new thing".
i didnt even know this was a thing(if it was publicly being worked on) until youtube recommended this
and now im glad i know this is a thing.💙
This is absolutely insane! Awesome job!
Congratulations on the release of this project, which I didn't know looks totally spectacular, thanks for the support in multiple languages and the local cooperative
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
the worst part about the original pikmin one was the fact that pikmin could die by clipping out of bounds. its easy to do, just try walking close to the sloped bridges and watch as pikmin quickly noclip to the backrooms. I did like how in one (at the least I don't remember if two did it as well) pikmin left behind could be found as sprouts. reincarnation folks! it was in the exact spot they were in though not the onion.
been waiting for this!! congrats on the launch!!
Finally.
It has been done.
I remember asking many moons ago in a stream if Louie would be playable thank you lord pikhacker 🙏
Coming in clutch with the release of the year
