I think that MS's choice to integrate xbox and windows 10 is probably a good idea. Sure it probably makes the xbox platform irrelevant for gamers who already have a nice PC, but that was likely already the case anyway so I think that doesn't really matter much.. Considering that these companies make most of their money on software, it really doesn't matter to microsoft which platform you buy it on anyway. When it comes to scorpio, however, If the price is more than 500 dollars it will be a tough decision on whether to buy one or just pony up another 500 and build a good PC that will last longer and do more things.
Conference starts at 59:10 Great coverage as always :), Easy Allies made watching EA and Bethesda such a blast. Personally I really enjoyed Xbox this year, it was a solid showing. Last year was their fantastic year, I personally thought that last year's Xbox was better than Playstation (a 7 year old game, CGI trailer and Kickstarter didn't get my as hyped as many did), although it will be interesting to see how Sony responds to this. Scorpio is bold, yet vague. It's hard to say if announcing it this early will hurt Microsoft as it gives others time to move against them. Although I understand the need to come out ahead of the leaks which are everywhere these days. The eco-system idea also makes perfect sense. A cheaper console, a expensive console and the PC. Cross-buy is perfect and we should have had it from the start of Windows 10. I know many are like "Why would I get an S with Scorpio?", but I think the question is demographic. Scorpio could be two if not three times as expensive, the average consumer will get an S, with only the "hardcore" getting Scorpoi as they're the ones who actually care about higher frame-rates. I dunno, but to me it all makes perfect sense in the grand scheme of things.
What Huber misses here is the fact that console's do not have the overhead of what Desktop PC's have. This will be running probably a Polaris R9 480 gpu it seems, and a Zen based 8 core 2.5-4ghz CPU. This thing will be a monster on another level.

I hate the fact to that many people seemed to think that if youre a "hardcore" gamer then that means you inherently own a pc gaming computer. The fact this there is a ton of gamers that prefer to game on a console and/or dont want to deal with the hassle of building a computer. Some people just want to walk in a store, buy a box, go home, plug it in and start playing.
If I understand correctly, PS4 is the best console because their exclusive games cannot be played anywhere else. On the other hand, Xbox is garbage because Microsoft gave people choise between Win 10 and Xbox. That's what the internet seems to think.
I don't mind the exclusive nature of these games because they are technically exclusive to W10 OS and Xbox One. It's not playable in older OS's and they can't be played on anything outside their MS ecosystem. So it technically is exclusive. Traditionally though I get it's been mainly used for saying it's 'exclusive' to a single console and nothing else. TEchnically speaking it is all exclusive since exclusive is to exclude outside a certain ecosystem.

The reason I game on consoles is because... 1. Start right back to where I left off without loading and waiting. 2. No need to deal with sw/hw issue myself. I only game on PC when I'm away. (The cloud save would work wonders for me). If Scorpio is upgrade-able... I'm IN! It's a box based on Win10 api that's dedicate to gaming. I'll invest my PC for game programming, tech study, experiment and all that, but I'm not willing to share my HW/new toys with antivirus, system stuff, office, web browsing, etc (They don't require that much power to run anyway). * I own Alienwares (and Surface Pro). Is not that I dunno how to build one but just because I don't want to deal with sw/hw issue myself.
6 Tflops doesn't mean that you will play 4K at 60 fps... If you look at benchmarks for GTX 1080 you will notice that demanding games are around 30 fps and we are talking about most powerful gpu on the market atm. I would like to see more spec from scorpio because right now it looks great for 1080p gaming, ultra wide or 1440p. Funny how consoles more and more remind PC.
Know i think i know how AMD got to made the RX 480 with such a low price, probably is the same GPU that's going in the Scorpio and AMD can make it cheaper because of economies of scale. Hoping for a AMD apu that's make high resolution Gaming PC for less than 600 dollars possible

XBOX can do what others cannot do. That is not hyperbole, nor a Nitendon't joke. Microsoft is not selling dreams, they are literally offering more than the competition is able to offer. I love EZA for delivering their opinions on the gaming industry. I believe EZA wants to be taken serious in the gaming industry. To be taken seriously, EZA has to be professional. There are a few things EZA must improve on. The first thing would be to be more educated on the subject matter in which EZA reports on. The second is not showing individual's lack of respect for certain games individual EZA members may not like. Lastly is working on the preferential treatment towards a certain console developer. Please do your research on press conferences you cover. Bloodworth tried connecting last year's Gears of War 4 storm to this year's storm. I get it, sometimes you make mistakes trying to remember characters in videos you had not seen in a long time. If you do not care, do not talk. I am just saying that if Bloodworth was more informed, he would not make that kind of statement to begin with. Huber was ignorant to the Arbiter not being in Killer Instinct, but was able to pick up on State of Decay 2 where others were not. EZA's panel on XBOX should be at least 1 person who can listen and talk about XBOX professionally. I am stating this under the Microsoft press conference video, but this applies to all the press conferences/events. On my second point, Daniel Bloodworth was dreadfully negative throughout Microsoft's press conference. You do know the saying about not having anything good to say, right? The slow motion reaction to Halo Wars 2 was borderline inappropriate. The panning out of the camera was not a great move, deserving of criticism. That deserves constructive criticism. Kyle Bosman was not to be seen, which was preferable to dishing out negativity during the press conference. When employed by Game Trailers, Ian Hinck had openly stated, in no uncertain terms, he hated the XBOX. Ian did a great job of not bringing this opinion to this press conference coverage. Brandon Jones and Brad Ellis were the most professional EZA panel members during this press conference. I know EZA is reporting their opinions. Keep the negative opinions to the post shows. Please not use negatively connotative words like "stupid" and "dumb." My last point deals with the EZA crew obviously in the tank for one console manufacturer. EZA's coverage of this should not skew their E3 coverage. It is terrible to preferentially cover one press conference over another. EZA has fans all over the world, who also like different gaming companies. It is great to see EZA come together to rank their favorite press conference. It is not great to omit doing the same for the other press conferences. If one press conference gets ranked by all the EZA members, then all the press conferences should be ranked in the same way. Miguel Rivas seriously , how much length can you go to justify your loyalty for a stupid product. Xbox is just irrelevant right now . Ps4, switch and PC is the way to go . By these 3 combined you can play every game launched in the world . If that doesn’t make a Xbox irrelevant then what will.
Horizon 3 was cool , the concept of play anywhere is cool, there was some diversity in their showing, but over all nothing that was a huge wow or surprising.
MS did alright this year, Forza Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves (God I hope Rare redeems themselves) are the only games I am personally very interested in, and I have to wonder if there's much long term support for the Xbox consoles planned past Scorpio, looks like the are just phasing everything to PC, also it was strange that they officially revealed both new consoles, "here's a marginal improvement, but don't buy it because next year we are releasing a clearly superior one"
Well the games are still exclusive. They will only be available on the Windows Store on Windows 10, that's pretty exclusive. MS doesn't care wehre you play, they get the same money.

I disagree. I think the songs sound and feel very very similar. The FF song has a slightly different resolve at the end of the chorus but it's still over the same chord. They're very close to being note-to-note exact copies. The Morrowind theme is still stuck in my head.
fury x 8.6 tflops - gtx 1080 8.0 tflops both 500-600 dollar gpu....6 tflop gpu are still around 450 bucks there not going to be able to mobilize a 9 inch gpu for half the cost in 2017 plus u need a cpu to match .....and ur not going to get 30 fps out of 6 tflops.....it could be a marketing ploy and most if not all games will come out as uhd 1440p res...that could work for Microsoft stop pushing for 4k and go for 2k 1440p dont blow smoke up everyone ass

to be fair those this conference didnt really bring many surprises, and Im not saying it wasnt good or bad, its just that we already pretty much knew what microsoft would be showing off. Whereas Sony actually had some surprises, such as GoW 4, Kojimas new game and RE VII (which Huber is a massive RE fan). Again, not necessarily saying one was better than the other, but comparing the two Sony definitely had more surprises.
I call bullshit on the Scorpio supporting Native 4K with 30/60 Hz refresh. That's a fairy-tail at best. The only way the Scorpio will be able to run games at native 4K is if they have the graphical fidelity of PS1 games. And hell even if they can make the Scorpio run games with the same graphical fidelity as the xbox one at a full Native 4K that console will be no cheaper than 600 dollars unless Microsoft takes a massive loss on each console sold. And why would you pay that much for a console that will outdated in 3/4 years with the Scorpio 2
Exactly. I just don't understand how Microsoft can do this. If they do actually have a 6 teraflop video card in the Scorpio that console will be so expensive that no one in their right mind would buy the thing. it takes like 1000+ dollar PCs to run games at 4k 30/60. I'd love to be proven wrong but I just don't see a 4K console with good graphic fidelity happening by Holiday 2017.

MS did alright this year, Forza Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves (God I hope Rare redeems themselves) are the only games I am personally very interested in, and I have to wonder if there's much long term support for the Xbox consoles planned past Scorpio, looks like the are just phasing everything to PC, also it was strange that they officially revealed both new consoles, "here's a marginal improvement, but don't buy it because next year we are releasing a clearly superior one"

Well the games are still exclusive. They will only be available on the Windows Store on Windows 10, that's pretty exclusive. MS doesn't care wehre you play, they get the same money.

I heard rumors that MS hired the show director that used to do Sony's conferences. Don't know if that's true but the stupid cutaways during gameplay sure do make it seem so.

Going to be completely honest as a person who hasn't bought a x1 and was bordering on buying one for gears 4 n halo wars 2 this conference just convinced me to not buy an Xbox period I'm just going to make a gaming PC it'll last longer than these consoles and you can do a lot more than game on it MS just made the Xbox brand irrelevant

I can hear the main notes from the morrowind theme, but the two songs still sound really different from each other. It also feels more of a coincidence then a rip off just by how different the songs are.
I disagree. I think the songs sound and feel very very similar. The FF song has a slightly different resolve at the end of the chorus but it's still over the same chord. They're very close to being note-to-note exact copies. The Morrowind theme is still stuck in my head.
Agreed, I was whistling the song for a while after it, my buddy asked me why I was whistling the Elder Scrolls theme, then it hit me.

fury x 8.6 tflops - gtx 1080 8.0 tflops both 500-600 dollar gpu....6 tflop gpu are still around 450 bucks there not going to be able to mobilize a 9 inch gpu for half the cost in 2017 plus u need a cpu to match .....and ur not going to get 30 fps out of 6 tflops.....it could be a marketing ploy and most if not all games will come out as uhd 1440p res...that could work for Microsoft stop pushing for 4k and go for 2k 1440p dont blow smoke up everyone ass
The GTX 1080 is 9 tflops and GTX 1070 is 6.5 tflops. 1070 should be the closer comparison.
What iam saying is price point for 4k performance 8 tera to 9 tera is still only enough for 30 - 40 fps in 4k...... 1080 is 9 it's still just enough to play 4k games at decent fps same with the fury x .....Scorpio is way off
I have a 4k 60 fps system so I know what it takes to play 4k they might as will go for 1440p ....

Watching this in 2019 before E3, it's amazing how bad Microsoft has been this generation and how exclusives on their platform died.

the stark difference in enthusiasm after having watched the sony reaction video......
to be fair those this conference didnt really bring many surprises, and Im not saying it wasnt good or bad, its just that we already pretty much knew what microsoft would be showing off. Whereas Sony actually had some surprises, such as GoW 4, Kojimas new game and RE VII (which Huber is a massive RE fan). Again, not necessarily saying one was better than the other, but comparing the two Sony definitely had more surprises.
I call bullshit on the Scorpio supporting Native 4K with 30/60 Hz refresh. That's a fairy-tail at best. The only way the Scorpio will be able to run games at native 4K is if they have the graphical fidelity of PS1 games.
And hell even if they can make the Scorpio run games with the same graphical fidelity as the xbox one at a full Native 4K that console will be no cheaper than 600 dollars unless Microsoft takes a massive loss on each console sold.
And why would you pay that much for a console that will outdated in 3/4 years with the Scorpio 2
Exactly. I just don't understand how Microsoft can do this. If they do actually have a 6 teraflop video card in the Scorpio that console will be so expensive that no one in their right mind would buy the thing.

It doesn't have to render at 4k natively. It could just upres to 4k.

I know that this is a conference and people lie all the time but the words'true 4k resolution' to me sounds like native resolution.
With polaris coming in at $200, offering the best price to performance, it's likely that Scorpio is going to be $399.
