It’s dissing the record label. Their songs shot up the billboard charts like a bullet. Record company tried to control what was released as a single. Ronnie disagreed. Definitely can skate to it. I did!!
Dang, now I want to hear the omitted part of the comments that led to the Gimme Three Steps suggestion. Which, by the way is a fantastic suggestion. But they've got so many mind-blowing things that are all different. But they always still sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd. I can't remember if you've already reacted to Tuesday's Gone, but it was a huge hit for them, and also it's just one of those absolutely beautiful ballads that is so heartfelt, and it's so well done and so involved that it's iconic.
"On the Hunt" a track off the 'Nuthin' Fancy' album released back in 1975 by Lynyrd Skynyrd is also smokin' hot. Drummer Artimus Pyle kicks ass on the drums with this song as well. The bassline sinks deep down in your soul.💫🎤🎸🥁🔊🔥🎧☮
This song kicks ass still to this day and Lynyrd Skynyrd is still the GOAT Southern Rock group ever to exist in the USA. Another Legendary Jam from a band we all miss still to this day.
Ronnie, singer... Steve and Cathy Gaines, new guitar player and backup singer that was brother and sister..... They were in the band that died.... But the two pilots and I thing a tour manager also died..... The rest of the band lived, but they had messed up injuries...... Except the drummer that ran a mile through the swamp to get help.
I am so happy to see this music live on. I was a total Skynyrd head back in the day. I was at Oakland 40 feet from the stage and so crushed after the accident. Keep listening. Not sure what you have listened to so far, but thinking you might like Saturday Night Special, Swamp Music, Call Me the Breeze, I know a Little, Don't Ask me No Questions, and I could go on! Thanks for the reaction!
The “bullets” are a metaphor that a music billboard magazine gave the top 10 songs of the week. The higher the bullets given, the higher the song was ranked. They had a song that was falling off the billboard charts, or they lost some “bullets.”
A song is for the listener's interpretation, it's what it does for you, I hear all these he said, she said, I don't care what anybody else says, not even the writer of the song, it can mean to you whatever you want, don't push it on me, that's what makes music so great.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Gaines (Steve's older sister), Dean Kilpatrick, Captain Walter McCreary, and First Officer William John Gray while twenty others survived October19, 1977.
I haven’t been visiting for a while. A lot of weird stuff posted. So good to see Southern Rock/good music back again. However, This is a Test! Will this generation know what these “Bullets” are? Follow-up should be: Working for MCA
Gimme back my bullets is the only Skynyrd album to feature just two guitarists,Ed King quit the band before it was recorded after a dispute on stage with Ronnie Vanzandt.

Oh, the 70s
Wow! Never knew. Thanks!
This is my absolute, all time favorite Skynrd track!
Mugsy, you nailed it! Been listening to Skynyrd since the seventies.

Freakin Allen Collins never gets enough credit for his guitar work !! Good to see you noticed his work!!

and then was shot in the shoulder by a farmer who thought he was an intruder...what a crazy story to live and tell...

bullets refer to billboard charting.

Need to go down the “Molly Hatchet” rabbit hole! Great band still tour but all the originals have passed but many Great hits!
That's one of those great albums
From the photo on the album cover, only Ronnie died in the crash. Steve Gaines and his sister Cassie died, but had not joined the band at this point.
I was in the infantry give me back my bullets means only one thing to me and only one thing
I need you is a must
Every song they have, other than the worn out FREEBIRD, is great. Working For MCA is my favorite! The didn’t all pass.
Only the best band ever.
I saw Skynyrd just a month before the crash. Hella thing
Check out Whiskey Rock A Roller! My favorite LS song!!

Indeed it should.

They had hit after hit
only a couple lost from the plane lol, not all...Ronnie Van Zant,(vocals) and Steve Gaines(guitarist),Gaines wife, and a back up singer
Gaines’ sister, Cassie died.
The south will rise again🤘
Again? Like since when? the 60s???? or ...post civil war?? I wasn't aware that the "south" had fallen. What happened? Just curious.
All of them except Artemis Pyle and Leslie Hawkins are gone.
Check out what is essentially Ozzy's swan song.
