Got both versions of the Air65 in today. If I could only get one, I would probably get the freestyle version as well. It felt a little more locked in for me, and the extra 30 seconds or so of flight time is nice. I swapped the motor screws out for the peek screws after a few flights and feel it’s worth it to include them in your order. I’ve had a few pretty hard crashes with both already, and so far, no issues at all. Mine also both came with tape over the back of the camera, so no issues there either. Would recommend.

Very interesting nick... Great price point. I'd be curious about the upcoming 5 in 1 should be even lighter. This is a good combo though and would even be a tad lighter with the new Newbeedrone LiteAF frame 👍
Nick as always nice review. On betafpv there is air75 also only 21g (3g lighter mobula7 with a better camera). Sounds like it could be new best 75 whoop?)
Love to see some new options for RTF tinywhoops!! They are so fun to fly lol. How would you say the Air65 compares to the Meteor65 Pro?? Its outdoor flight certainly seemed smooth for a 65mm
the pro isn't as inside friendly due to the larger prop and thrust produced, but it will be more capable of aggressive outside flight but shorter flights overall due to the small battery tray.
I have a same with my betafpv75 pro, but I can see that print only when sun is really low just above the horizon. Its really strange, but it doesn't bother me.
Others have said tape on the back of the camera solves the issue. Something about holes in the pcb allowing light through and causing a reflection. Liquid tape might be a better long term solution if true.

I ordered the air 75. I thought it was very interesting that they use a $45 4-in-one AIO with an external Express LRS receiver soldered on. Been having bad experiences with micros and whoops in 2024. I guess we'll see what happens!
how do u feel about the ELRS rx not being built into the board on the air? do you think with the more space for components not having the elrs rx on the AIO maybe helps reliability? I Know ive had 2 cross f4 AIOs that the ELRS rx both died on them before =T
It could, but to have anything more than a guess or feeling we will have to wait for the 5in1 version to come out. I suspect the 5in1 will be the traditional shape and size. We have seen the small the board gets the harder the reliability also gets, example is the happymodel diamond board.
Great review👍 im new to fpv, how would you compare this to the Mobeetle6 whoop? i literally just purchased before watching this review 😅. Is it worth cancelling my order for Air65 ?
I think it depends on the price paid and how quickly you might receive either of them. The Air65 has better characteristics, but as a newer person to fpv being able to tell or notice the difference will be unlikely. Also if you plan to fly outside mostly I would say yes but get the 75mm version.
Hi Nick Great reviews, and I will be getting a freestyle….. but (as a noob) I’m a bit confused. Do these have an elrs receiver on them already? If not, how are they controlled? Thanks
I wish you could (and be willing) to swap those motors for happymodel ones. Kv for Kv. And compare. Not sure about performance, but i am convinced they would provide longer flight time
This will be my first drone, I read there is no ELRS receiver, should I buy it separately? (and how to mount it?) I also need goggles and the radio transmitter, will the VR02 + lite radio 2 from BETAFPV be enough or should I buy the VR03 + lite radio 3? Thanks 🙏🏻
Just purchased air freestyle. In your opinion, should I get an ELRS module, or an Radio master pocket? I mostly fly micros. And both are similar in price.
Well, it really depends if you really like your current radio or if its just kinda iffy on the current radio. If you really like it, pop a module in it, but if your iffy a new radio might be an opportunity to find a radio you really like. As far as ELRS function there is almost no difference between a module and a radio with elrs built in.

Try changing that lens out. It looks like that 'chroma' filter. It looks like a rainbow sort of it's probably loose and lifted. Caddx Ant sometimes do this.

I started out buying the BETAFPV Cetus Lite FPV Drone Kit, when I'm ready to upgrade to the Air65, would it work with the BETAFPV Cetus Lite FPV Drone goggles and controllers? (money is always an issue, LOL)
The issue with the cetus lite radio is we are dependant on betafpv to provide the elrs firmware and any need to upgrade. The googles will certainly work with any other analog based quad.
I'm pretty sure what you're seeing in that camera you're talking about at the end of the video is the reflection of the sensor on the ir filter , most likely a crash moved that ir filter out of place just enough that when the light hits the sensor just right you get that purple relection. but thats just my theory I suppose
Others have said tape on the back of the camera solves the issue. Something about holes in the pcb allowing light through and causing a reflection. Does that hold up? I haven't tried it yet. Liquid tape might be a better long term solution if true.
@@NickBurnsFPV that's possible I suppose but based on when it shows up in the video it looks more like sunlight is getting in there and reflecting, and the purple tells me it's probably due to the ir filter cause I've broken the ir filters on caddx ants and polar nanos and in both cases everything green turns purple like that reflection looks like, then also I've seen the inside of a camera sensor before though I can't remember the circumstances but it looked like that. Try the tape/liquid tape fix and see what happens, if it goes away then my theory is likely wrong but if it stays a issue then I think I'm right.
the "electronic print" seems to be a C03 issue, i have the same print with a replacement for my meteor 75 pro C03 cam after the first one got disconnect issues.
So have you noticed issues with your CO3 camera? I noticed especially 6:20 for the next 10-15secs you can really see that faint purpleish color? Is that burn in?? I have the same issue on mine except its a lot worse and the camera quality is terrible. EDIT: see others talking about this issue ok gotcha
I didn't notice it in the full flight videos, but I talk about this issue later in the video. Here in the comments others have said tape on the back of the camera solves the issue or liquid tape for a longer solution.
Does the higher KV give you more umph at the bottom of a power loop? I could see the higher KV giving you more top end speed, but are the motors strong enough at the bottom of a power loop at either KV? I have high ceiling, and enough room for the power loop but even at 18-19g and 0702 motors with high KV it’s not quite enough.
At the same throttle point low kv vs higher kv yes we have more prop speed at nearly all throttle positions. This is part of the flight feel difference, in outright performance its just the top end of the throttle where lower kv vs higher kv is "measurable". If any of that makes sense....sorry hard to describe
I don't think I have any unique knowledge or special experience to get good at flying indoor. I do think finding rates that suit us are very important, some use low rates as they feel the extra precision, others like myself use higher rates to not have to move the sticks as far to quickly navigate indoor. The next thing to work on after precision is making sure we can execute coordinated turns both left and right. Coordinated meaning enough yaw, roll and throttle to keep a nice steady lines through the turn.
@@jandomingo9806 this, lighter more agile. you might be referencing the meteor65 pro, which I like but the efficiency isn't there with the small battery tray only holding ~300mah batteries. I would rather fly 75mm at that point.
I'm getting a bleep from my analog module and the video goes a bit strange even at close range, and it doesn't seem to be able to go much distance, what could be causing this?
The meteor 65 pro will be more suited for most outside due to the larger prop producing more thrust, outside it will fly better but not as long as the air65.
also am I wrong, or is 94.99 a really good price for a product like this? Building something like this would be around $130 am I correct? Someone please tell me if I am wrong. also the 400mw VTX is just a nice touch

@@Skylionfpv I will have to test the tape theory/solution out. Can't be really sure until I have tried it myself.
I have the same purple glare that looks to be the PCB behind the camera, strange 11:50
the "electronic print" seems to be a C03 issue, i have the same print with a replacement for my meteor 75 pro C03 cam after the first one got disconnect issues.
6:50 wait a second... Where are the yaw watch outs?
Yea, I didn't get that on my dives. In any wind conditions.
Thge difference are the motors, the props and the PID, as far as i know.
Can you do a comparison of this quad vs the new hdzero one?
Does the higher KV give you more umph at the bottom of a power loop? I could see the higher KV giving you more top end speed, but are the motors strong enough at the bottom of a power loop at either KV? I have high ceiling, and enough room for the power loop but even at 18-19g and 0702 motors with high KV it’s not quite enough.
At the same throttle point low kv vs higher kv yes we have more prop speed at nearly all throttle positions. This is part of the flight feel difference, in outright performance its just the top end of the throttle where lower kv vs higher kv is "measurable". If any of that makes sense....sorry hard to describe
when are we getting down to the milligram scale?
what goggle antenna and VRX are you using for this video?
hdzero goggles, immersionrc rapidfire module with axii antenna
any recommendations for how to get better at flying indoors?
I don't think I have any unique knowledge or special experience to get good at flying indoor. I do think finding rates that suit us are very important, some use low rates as they feel the extra precision, others like myself use higher rates to not have to move the sticks as far to quickly navigate indoor. The next thing to work on after precision is making sure we can execute coordinated turns both left and right. Coordinated meaning enough yaw, roll and throttle to keep a nice steady lines through the turn.
What about the humming bird 3? How does it compare?
much different experience. At best the humming bird is 4 grams heavier, with the old ph2.0 connector. A lighter whoop is always going to outperform
How about BetaFPV Meteor 75 Pro? I want to buy a whoop for flying exercise.
Not sure what the question about it is? the larger the quad the less indoor friendly it is, and how capable it is outside
Itll b good to test other props. Maybe if a 35mm will fit?
35mm won't fit. 35mm requires a different frame and to have that frame be 65mm motor to motor requires a different sized flight controller as well.
@@NickBurnsFPV question. Did u like flying this or the meteor65?
@@jandomingo9806 this, lighter more agile. you might be referencing the meteor65 pro, which I like but the efficiency isn't there with the small battery tray only holding ~300mah batteries. I would rather fly 75mm at that point.
You think this FC will fit into their larger Pro frames?
Yes
is there a link to buy the usb-c adapter? seems if you lose it, you cant connect to betaflight... not good
I have not seen them available alone. I would contact betafpv support or even sales to see if one can be purchased separately
I think you damaged IR filter in your cam.
Does it come with the elrs receiver installed or need to purchase extra?
Rx is included
I'm getting a bleep from my analog module and the video goes a bit strange even at close range, and it doesn't seem to be able to go much distance, what could be causing this?
very likely goggles and vtx aren't on the 100% same frequency.
How do you feel about it in comparison to meteor 65 pro? How are they different from each other?
The meteor 65 pro will be more suited for most outside due to the larger prop producing more thrust, outside it will fly better but not as long as the air65.
@@NickBurnsFPV so will air 65 be better inside?
@@sviatoslavhulko4758 yes
also am I wrong, or is 94.99 a really good price for a product like this? Building something like this would be around $130 am I correct? Someone please tell me if I am wrong. also the 400mw VTX is just a nice touch
yes, the price is well below what I expected. The mobula 6 2024 is selling for $114.99
are u flying analog with hdzero goggles ?
yes, with a module on the side for analog
I like Betafpvs buildquality, motors and especially their frames, but my experience with their AIOs is just horrible
Lit one up last night
Thats disappointing for sure. In this case I do have a sample of 4, I will continue flying them and see how they hold up.
@@NickBurnsFPV hope you got a badge, my fc was done after my very first crash. Nothing else broke, not even a single scratch anywhere. It still baffles me. I'm still sad they don't make a 85mm version of their air frame, they are amazing
I find their aio a litte more durable than the happymodel ones. Besides these to, there are hardly and others
@@chrisbee5481 I feel like you roll the dice when you order betafpv. My 1st aio from them dead after the first minor crash. I have 3 happymodel aios, one of them took a decent amount of abuse and all of them are still fine. When you look for it you find a lot more bad experiences with betafpv than with happymodel. I guess you just have to be lucky
How would these sell out like hotcakes if there’s a chip shortage? 16:03
probably a question suited for the resellers and manufacturers.
@@NickBurnsFPV it was a joke… there isn’t a chip shortage 🤦🏻
Gazebo gaps in the future plz 🙏
oh between the slats in the pergola "roof"?
@@NickBurnsFPV yes if possible
I’d like too know the weight difference between the future 5in1 vs 4in1 with external rx soldered too it because looks like the 5 in1 board appears too be a complete diamond shape 💠 I saw on the website
I don't have one to weigh
@@NickBurnsFPVif you can weigh the flight controller and external rx you have then I can compare with the integrated version weight it’s posted on the website
Never mind those motors are soldered lol 😮
@@seanconnolly2179 I show the AIO weight in the video
what aspect ratio was used on the camera and on your goggles?
The camera can't be adjusted. 4:3 ratio
@@NickBurnsFPV ok thanks Nick
Does the Betafpv Air65 have altitude hold?
no
About that camera.... it look like a light leak to the lens. Try covering it with somthing
Others have said tape on the back of the camera solves the issue. Something about holes in the pcb allowing light through and causing a reflection. Liquid tape might be a better long term solution if true.
Not sure why you would buy the freestyle version. Everyone is going higher kv on freestyle whoops now days. 27k even seems low
I suspect there is a large population of those in FPV not integrated tightly into the online fpv space. I hear from them occasionally in the comments but more often in private messages....they want flight time per battery, rather than buying more batteries.
Nah that looked more like a right front propellor bite from a whoop how do I know? because I've whoop whacked my face and cut my lip more than once so I know
put some liqud tape on the back of the cam and is gone
Thank you. I see several of you are familiar with this issue.
That's ridiculous that should even be necessary but try Slick 3D shirt paint. You'll love it! It's replaced all my liquid electrical tape.
Are these Air frames 3d printed?
no, they are plastic molds.
@@NickBurnsFPV Hey, thanks, Nick.🤗 I was wondering because those stretchy marks appear quite easily.🤔 Of course, it's very light, but maybe the material is a bit too thin or brittle to achieve that lightness....... So I ordered some more of them😁
I bought the Cetus pro and it was fun, but now I became better and it’s not fun anymore. What drone schould I buy. (Btw. I only have frsky)
What are you interested in? Bigger prop size? Open prop? Video system?
Should I buy a meteor ? Like a 65 or 75pro ? Or is it only for inside flying ?
Or are there 5” drones under 200 for frsky ?
@@Monkzvr1 I am not really atune with the 5inch market. I primarily cover 3inch prop and smaller. Pretty much all whoops can be flown outside, but I can't imagine its much fun if the space is large and open. really need something like a playground or backyard with points of interest to enjoy the whoops.
Is the meteor 75 pro a good whoop or do you know any better whoops ?😅
what rates do you use
linked in the video description
Has anyone tried the BetaFPV tune on a Mob6 2024???
The aio is the only thing that is slightly interesting.
Ive had the same camera issue on both c03's i've tried.
Also cannot recommend these canopies at all.
Good video just slightly annoyed with betafpv products.
I have been recommended to put tape on the back of the camera to solve that. What issues have you had with the canopy
They tend to break easily right under the camera. Ah I see camera fix comment and will have to try. Even with minor issues this quad is a needed addition to the market and for $95 I shouldn't complain.
@@lolthekidison What about 3d printing canopy for this camera? Maybe tpu will be better.
@@matek115 Definitely a good idea, I pressed one of them flat to get a reference of its footprint in cad, was going to look around before making my own.
@@lolthekidison surely with all the prints available there has to be a "lite canopy for C03" in some repository.
