Do note that the kid should have a Micro SD card reader to move the recordings from the goggles to your computer. Either I misplaced it or the kit I have missed it when packing.
Nick, you're the man! One of the only FPV reviewers that I have maintained full respect for. Always very thorough and unbiased. Not to mention, how much you do to support and/or give back to the hobby. Props to you, no pun intended.
Cool kit, might grab one for my kid. I gave him my old EZ Pilot Pro kit, but it's still a little big for him. (controller and goggles)
Thank you so much. Appreciate the kind words.
This is definitely a stocking stuffer that many of my friends in Rome GA are going to get from me.
Fantastic flying and review as always, Nick! 😃
This could definitely be a fun first quad for someone!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great review Nick.
Not a bad starter set. One nice thing as the user outgrows the quad and radio, is that the goggles still act as a decent 65mm whoop case and charger. My first fpv quad was a brushed motor 65mm. Lots of fun learning with that little bugger.
@1:47 The statement you made leaves ambiguity for people who aren’t familiar with brushed versus brushless motors to believe brushed motors are more efficient, when infact they are not. Thank you for the detailed review!
Crazy value for money! Another great review, thanks!
Wow, that is slick packaging!
Good morning,, that looks like a great beginner set.
Not bad.. They should release a X version of this kit with Brushless whoop.
Nice kit! Thanks for reviewing this. Far too often people have problems putting a kit together and never for this price. It’s a really affordable way for people to get into the hobby and look’s very forgiving. Camera looks decent and you got into the basement next to the furnace. Decent vtx. Thanks for sharing this! Cheers
I am not sure, but seems it would be worth another $20ish if they would have made the radio and quad elrs. Seems a bit silly not to as its opensource.
@@NickBurnsFPV yeah, a shame they didn’t go ELRS. NewBeeDrone also still likes those PH2 connectors.
Great job, when looking to purchase a whoop, goggles, and controllers I always go back to your videos to get your thoughts on the product. 90% of the time I can find one of your reviews that covers what I was looking for. In some cases, I have saved money not purchasing new products that you indicated the new version of a product just doesn't offer enough to make the purchase worth it. Most recently not buying the newest goggles, saving that money for other FPV needs. Thank you for your professionalism in making your videos, I find your recommendations are solid 100% of the time. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you so much
Good review Nick
Thanks!
Great video thank you so much bro!!!
Nice review, including the detailed explanation for beginners 👍🏽 would have loved to see you push it in acro indoors 😁
No acro that I could find on this one. Email NBD on that topic as well. I think I would have been better off flying acro as any stabilized mode feels so foreign to me now.
If i had not spend a bouch of hours leaning acro mode in the sim i would have piked this up this set. I think a wil go with a brusheles tinywhoop and some cheap box googles.
Horizon mode almost looked to be self leveling on roll and acro on pitch when you were trying flips.
Cool👍👍😊😳
NewBeeDrone really needs to stop shipping products with PH2.0. There is no excuse at this point.
I mean their excuse is undoubtedly that thet have about a million of them already manufactured and they need to get rid of them. Makes sense to me to do that with something like this. Designed to give people a hassle-free taste of FPV, not designed to be a performer I mean look at how it flies.
@@Wind_Rapport I get where you are coming from but you need to make a cut at some point. I'm sure it works, but it's an objectively inferior port compared to BT2.0 and A30.
I didn't catch what size motors. Santa drone memories!
6mm according to the site.
Damn, brushed in 2024, but yet again, it's newbeedrone
Right, just usesome 0802 18000kv for slow easy to control beginner flight. The price is nice as a gift for my 6 year old nephew though. He loves watching me and his dad fly around our whoops through the yard.
Duuuude, brushed whoops are the BOMB for learning! They chill in the air like a total dream, fly sneaky quiet indoors, and those 5-minute rips are FIRE for practicing sick tricks.
Brushed setup is like training wheels for the FPV world. Less power means less chance of WALL-Eing yourself (nasty crashes), and the price tag is way more wallet-friendly. Gettin' good before you shred with brushless is the smart move!

hey nick, awesome video! i think ill get this or equivalent for my dad. Do you think its enough to learn acro and awareness?
I think he would need to be shown how to decrease the stabilization strength to train towards acro, but otherwise yes. Training to acro on brushed might be a bit harder than brushless just due to the response time of brushed motors.
Nick, do you think the FC will fit onto the traditional cockroach frame the brushed beebrain originally came with? Also, think the motors can be replaced with the higher NBD brushed ones?
Yes, we can replace the motors with any brushed motors of the same size. But as the kv of the motor changes the PIDs will likely need a change as well. I am not sure how this board is mounted as I didn't take it apart. I suspect its typical 25.5x25.5 AIO mounting but that is only speculation.
Great little kit for a beginner. But Nick, don’t all quads that are capable of recording have to have remote ID in the states now?
Not all quads, there are a number of exceptions. One being under 250 grams.
@@NickBurnsFPV I thought even under 250 had to have it if they were capable of recording? But I have to say I’m glad I’m wrong. (As we normally follow what happens in the states(
I don't like brushed, my first drone was brushed and motors didn't last at all, last about 20 flights, was necessary to change a lot of them. The kit is good for someone that is not Shure if will like FPV.
There is a big variable in brushed motor quality and performance. I remember some I bought off of ebay had really short life as well.

I bought a TBS Tango 2 for sims. Can I bind it with this kit? If not, are there any kits out there that can? Thanks.
Not to my knowledge, for both questions. The cheapest way to go would be to add an expresslrs module to the tango 2 and then we can look at kits/quads that use ELRS receivers.
@@NickBurnsFPV Oh that’s too bad. Goggles are really what’s holding me back since they are quite the investment. Thanks for the reply. The kit you featured still seems ideal to try out real fpv. Thanks for the video. Excellent work.
I'm just a beginner myself, but if you are already flying in simulators, then I'd suggest thinking twice about buying such a kit, as you could also just buy a compatible drone(betafpv got a TBS Tinywhoop for example) and goggles right away.
I just bought the (quite similar) Emax Tinyhawk RTF kit last week, after having trained in Liftoff for over a month, and returned it after a few days already, as the performance of that tiny drone was absolutely underwhelming, compared to the bigger drones you fly in a sim, especially since it only had an extremely limited video range of about 10 meters.
But it was still very convenient to try out flying a real drone and I can imagine that it's quite nice for other people to use this tinywhoops just to play around.
