- Why am I putting myself through this again?! This is the largest ship graveyard in the world and today I will be taking on one of the most dangerous jobs in the world as I play the full version Ship Graveyard Simulator 2! I'll be tearing down and scrapping massive beached shipwrecks and turning them into scrap metal and major profit, and this time RTX is on!

As someone with absolutely no experience with cranes, I can confidently say that is how cranes work
As a fan of RCE and of this game, it's kinda hard to watch him struggle playing things badly out of order, knowing it paints a pretty bad picture of the game itself. If you proceed in the intended order, it's honestly pretty zen. I hope folks don't let this scare them off playing it.
This. Game is super satisfying to play.
This game looks boring asf
@@calvins832 Oh, it's absolutely not for everyone. No denying that. But there's a lot more to it than the video really shows. The way he's doing it now is like trying to fight the final boss of a game at level one with the starting gear. If you actually play it in a reasonable way, you can finish that ship in an hour, hour and a half at the maximum.
it didnt seem that bad to me. The game looks fun no matter what approach you take.
I've spent a lot of hours in similar types of games, and I was considering buying this one as well. But ultimately, that sorting minigame is what turned me away. If I hadn't seen that, I probably would've picked it up already.
RCE refuses to upgrade his tools, picks the last, humongous ship and then says how much of a grind the game is.
For anyone interested in the game: you don't usually grind that long at a single connection if you upgrade your tools at a reasonable rate. The game is a bit of a grind by its very nature, but it's nowhere near as bad as it looks in this video, unless you want to skip a bunch of ships. The progression is a bit weird, with the same things having more hitpoints on later ships, so it can feel like you're actually losing progress at points.
Also, skip ships with gold in a contract, and rather do the ones without gold twice (because enough gold is generally only found in engines, which are a PITA to get out). And ALWAYS scrounge the ships for the required items in the contracts first, and only THEN do materials as needed for the contracts. Scrap ships immediately after finishing the contracts until all tools are fully upgraded.
@@ArKritz84 I tend to pick up/disconnect all items floor by floor and then collapse the roof above if I can, that's usually the way to get engines out while still making sure you're picking everything up
@@anonymouspotato4899 it’s not that it can’t be done, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze until you’ve fully upgraded all the tools. Time-wise, I mean. And once you have, you can easily blow through the contracts on the biggest ship in 20ish minutes, in no small part because they don’t require gold.
@@ArKritz84 I mean, in my case it probably helps that I don't turn in the contracts until after I finish scrapping the entire ship, but before recycling.
@@anonymouspotato4899 demolishing the entire ship is fun and all, but only AFTER fully upgrading all of the tools. And the fastest way to do that is by completing contracts.
No, Matt. Thinking like an engineer means taking the ship apart from the top down, taking all required safety precautions along the way and not letting gravity do the demolition for you. Yes, I've seen your previous videos playing this game.
His brain must be turned off when he was playing this game. Mine is in total brown-out, and it HURTS!!!
The fact that you got to this point with all your tools on one or fewer upgrades shocks me to my core. Somebody check on Matt, make sure his psyche is OK after that. 🤣
if you upgrade your glove, you can pick up multiple item at onces, best upgrade
You went to the bridge and there was no review??? Shocking…
Been waiting to see more videos on this! Great fun to watch as always
Same
8:54 I don't know why, but I lol'ed at Press F to HORN
12:29 despite all his rage, he's still just a Matt in a cage
*@Real Civil Engineer*
6:16 We need a ✨🌈 *_"Bridge Review!"_* 🌈✨ ;D
Love watching Matt play this game and hope there’s many more episodes. It is quite zen and relaxing
RCE plays graveyard like a proper architect
You should check out Hardspace Shipbreaker!!
All that cutting and not saying "Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort."
Architects: Let's go from the top down.
Engineers: LET'S GO FROM THE BOTTOM! WHY IT NO WORK?!
Aww.. my cockatiel on my shoulder scared shitless on the 'NOPE!'.. hehehe
I absolutley love this game. Wathcing you start the final ship with un-upgraded equipment was hard. This game is about the grind!
That “circular saw” looks a heck of a lot like a grinder… 😂
I ran straight to the comments after that part in the beginning to make sure someone called it out😂
Yes, I love this series! I hope you'll come back with more, this is always so satisfying to watch.
The crane looks very "War of the World's"
Fun game, I can't wait for them to add the supermassive ships.
If u like this game, u should play Hardspace: Shipbreaker
It is like this, but for spaceships. And your in space
That's the experience I thankfully avoided by doing each ship in succession, I've done that last ship twice in a total of 61 hours of gameplay and there's been a few double takes on some of the ships.
A much more enjoyable experience when you have done the ships in sequence of costs, because then your tools are constantly upgraded to be around where they should be.
I'm so looking forwards to seeing the next steps in this game, but give RCE some console commands to ease his progress, because this looked like an architect doing ship demolition, smh...
You did the game a dirty one here RCE, SHAME!
Pro tips for guys scared of this game : 1. Disable night in menu, 2. invest all your money in tools first, don't take a medium difficulty ship unless you have lvl 3 -4 tools, usually the rule is that higher difficulty makes it harder to remove parts. 3. You need better gloves and crate early 4. hammer needs to remove bolts in one swing to be effective, also saw needs to cut in 1-2 seconds. 5. Considering you take no damage and it still takes a lot of time since you are one person, not 100 man team in Mumbai, I recommend taking down bridge towers from the first floor so they collapse, remember bolts keep the structure intact, not the small welds so if you remove just the bolts with the hammer and then strike one panel at the end, they will collapse in sequence breaking the small welds as well. Warning - don't collapse a tower/segment before you remove engine or other valuable part with the crane. 6. Park the truck closer so you can throw from the tower directly in the truck - you can throw a very long range anyway and if not then buy crane dumpsters for areas far from the truck.
this game would make good live stream material
You should do a series with this game
Makes me wish Hardspace Shipbreaker's missions weren't timed. I love games like this.
Shipbreaker has a relaxed difficulty mode which disables the shift timer (and optionally the oxygen drain)
@@OshrothAh, I didn't know that! I'll have to pick it up, then.
This game looks like a perfect “don’t think just do” game!
Like i could see this being perfect as a background game you play while listening to podcasts or audio books or essays!
You don’t need to think, just turn your brain off and before you know it you will have played for 5+ hours. And it wouldn’t be boring because you are not actually paying attention to the game except for the absolute bare minimum to play it.
11:02 That crane is operated by Level Earth Observer. You're lucky you got out of that in one piece.
FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS FOR SO LONG
Do it the engineer way: program a bot to do the work! :D
14:19 yeah definitely 10Kg is the weight of a washing machine 😂
Dont ask me why matt running around banging old ships is better than any tv show currently being released, but it is.
It is because most tv shows nowadays are either just trash, or watered down copies of original shows that were once great.
Only architects do demolition work from the bottom up.
I completed this game. (Well almost. The $1,750, one was bugged for me and I found the devs said fixing it requires rebuilding the models) I loved the game. There could do with being more upgrades so you can near instant grind and blowtorch at the end but otherwise I just want more ships to scrap. Also the rope is so useful, though it would be cool if the max upgrade unlocked a jetpack as currently you can lock yourself out of getting scrap if you do things in the wrong order.
RCE I don't think I've ever seen you play Hardspace Shipbreaker - I think you might enjoy it
That ship doesn't take THAT long. Just a few hours. Clean out the loose stuff, turn off the gas and electricity, then start at the top and work your way down deck by deck. Sometimes pieces will get stuck midair or worse, float out of reach so you can't break them, and then you can't get the crane in to winch out hull chunks at the bottom or other weird issues. Oh, and don't knock down floor plates held up with torch cutable bits and then exit and reload. They won't get in the way, but you won't be able to pick them up.
I may have played a lot of this game. What can I say, it's strangely meditative.
Yep. same.
this is what we call voluntary manual labor
This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them!
Never knew about actual ship scrappers in 3rd world countries... but they apparently do such hard and dangerous work for about 5 dollars a day... at least one person dies a week breaking down these ships, and I likely never wouldve known had I not watched a youtube video about Hardspace Shipbreakers ending credits. Interesting what games teach you.
then theres me maxed out the game within 2 weeks released :)
You are the best britsh guy i know ngl
RCE, you should get into Hardspace Shipbreaker - same sort of idea of dismantling, but you're an engineer in space!
I could watch you play this for a really long time! You should do a live stream of this game!
more please if they have multiplayer
I bought this on release and I've I've been saving it. Might be time to play it soon.
Your the best at it!!!!!
Now we must see you finish the largest ship!
Day 149 of asking Matt to play Mindustry.
I can confirm that!
Im feelin lonely
This man is the real manic
I think this person wants him to play Mindustry...
It'll just get thrown behind a paywall
i love coming to the comment sections just to see the mindustry guy
I’m tired and those electrified bolts had me laughing irrationally. What an absurd mechanic.
I had to audibly exclaim "oh no" when he went to the upgrade shop after buying the final ship, and showed off he's got pretty much only the most basic of tools. This is going to take 10× longer than intended...
One of my favorite RCE series.
The Engineer 'nope' was perfect
One of the few games where grinding is not only playing with words but also litarly.
No boosh montage? I got boosh blue balls over here. Boosh balls. Blue Danube Ballz.
This really makes me want to play Hardlight shipbreaker again
Props to this guy for spending all this time..
i swear, at this point im getting more and more convinced abt RCE having a bridge kink
this ship gives me Rust vibes
It is a desk. It just doesn’t count toward the contract until it’s in the truck.
He should play frostpunk
Hope RCE finishes that huge ship
im playing hardspace shipbreaker while watching this
This is such an insane game.
I happened to watch your first video on SGS2 this week and was wondering when's the next episode... thank you!!
I love games like this. Just wish there was something you could with the scrap than just sell. Use the resources, you know.
i watched a quarter of the OnePiece Anime while scrapping that ship lmao
Its so sad that any ships are crashing 😭
That joke at the beginning got me😂
would really like to see more of this game one of my favs
0:07 he says as he doesn’t even TOUCH the hard hat
Oh no, buddy, starting this ship off with almost everything at it's minimum except the hammer, but why? I can't imagine playing this much of the game without more upgrades.
Your circular saw was an angle grinder 😂
That Moment when you realise that you cant watch the newest rce Video within 5 minutes because you have an appointment.
Btw: I Just spent five minutes trying to Figuren Out how to spell "minutes" and im still Not sure If I spelt it right
I would love to get that game, it looks insane.
Looks like the most boring game ive ever seen someone play 😂 Would rather watch grass grow
@@csar07.Well after the grass grows, you will need to cut it, and there's Lawnmower Simulator for that lol
@@csar07. It's only for a specific type of person, and you do not seem to be that type of person.
It's probably going to be more like Pressure Washing Simulator, but longer.
To see that you made 2000 $ in game with those low level tools pains me in ways you can't imagine !!! Lvl 1 gloves and Lvl 3 saw means you enjoy pain, I see no other reason, No wonder it took 30 hours, daaaamn
Thank you for the videos
Literal grind right there
We need a part 2!!!!!
It looks like you're using a masonry disk with that grinder.
this game hurts me because the angle grinder is using a stone cutting blade instead of a metal cutting blade XD
Been waiting for another episode of this really enjoyed the last series
More please!
Day 30 of me asking matt to continue playing Minecraft and happy Diwali to all my fellow Indians
Err, circular saw - or ANGLE GRINDER? You architect!
you can 1 shot rivets with a lvl 10 hammer the grinder takes a second to grind something when maxed.
This might be the earliest ive gotten to a video
How has he not realized that if you start at the bottom, everything above it breaks too. Saves a load of time
DELICIOUS
Hello
I'm really suprised RCE has never played hard space ship breaker. Its like this game in space but good
If he hasn't, he definitely should. I can't help thinking that SGS is the cheap version of what Hardspace was originally going to be, before they decided that they didn't want to deal with gravity.
Whoa, we're half way there
Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer
Take my wood, we'll make it, I swear
Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer
7:23 that's how my brain works... send help
This game takes level grinding literally.
Hi
There is a similar game but you dismantle spaceships and a weightless environment
Sdthgf
Play some more of this please
YEAH BABY
Our five year old constantly requests the boosh song😂 I can’t remember which video it is!!
I would totally do this as a job.
