    Hey, I’m 13 and a Jehovah’s Witness. I completely unfortunately where you’re coming from and I hope you do well in your recovery. I love the way you put this so respectfully and I wasn’t raised until I was adopted. The only thing I want to mention is that it wasn’t right for you to be forced into it if you didn’t want it. I have to deal with it a lot but luckily my family doesn’t make me do it and it’s my choice weather or not I go to meetings or service and I’m so sorry you didn’t get that. I hope you know a lot has changed and the religion has fixed the misunderstanding they have put off. You’re really strong for putting your side of the story online. I hope you keep up the recovery :)

      Maybe you have freedom of choice because you are adopted and they are afraid to force you into religion.

    I've always been outside of the religion but many relatives are. Additionally, my dad has always been heavily influenced by JWs also outside of it. This left me having to secretly express my spiritual path growing up. I have been intuitively guided to divination but have been made to feel like I need to hide it which left me feeling u authentically myself. I can completely empathise with you. I am so happy you have found your forever path. 😊❤

    My son gave his first and last talk about 12 years old. The criticism should have been ALL POSITIVE but teacher focused on him rocking back and forth…. Never ever gave another talk he’s not a JW today ( thankfully) those ministry school experiences at such a young age can really be damaging

      I’ve heard that 43 is a common year for spiritual awakenings - I think according to Rudolph Steiner the spiritual philosopher. Have you read Gary Zukav’s The Seat of the Soul? That was the book that pushed me over. And then I read Eckhardt Tolle’s A Nee Earth. I highly recommend both books

    so have you let go of christianity and the bible altogether? how do you live now?

    • @woowoowellness
      @woowoowellness  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I had a few years as an atheist before coming back to spirituality. I don’t consider myself Christian although I find a lot of resonance with mystical Christianity. I tend to look for the truths in all religions and spiritual paths. I appreciate Sufism a lot, especially quotes by Rumi. I consider my self spiritual but not religious. And I am a member of the Unitarian Universalist church in pasadena, CA where I used to live and still visit, I also attend a new thought church on island occasionally - these are places I find community without dogma. Some of my biggest influences now are Eckhardt Tolle, Gary Zukav, Rudolph Steiner/Anthroposophy, The Law of One, reality trans surfing and my own discernment. I’m also an avid astrologer and meditation junkie.

      What’s tough about being in a sect is that they lie about and bash all the other churches so when you get out, one never wants to step into a church again. They leave with a bitter taste in their mouth. If you follow the New Age movement to the T, the mindset is just as dangerous as the Jehovah Witnesses. It’s traumatizing. You know that you are in a cult by what happens to you if you decide to leave.

      I disagree. If they took the time to comply with over sight agencies and get accredited it could be recognized by employers as legit seminary degree. I’ve served on the boards of spiritual institutions and training institutes. It’s not hard to be a legit educational institution.

      You might be surprised how most companies don’t care what your degree is in or who it’s from as long as you can check the box. If JWs were afraid people laughing at them they probably wouldn’t still be preaching about Armageddon and living forever.

    The Bible clearly states that before humans appeared on the earth, only Jehovah's family of witnesses existed in the universe. The first witness to leave the family was the angel who became "Satan" the first apostate. Today, either one is serving Jehovah or the adversary Satan. There is no sitting on the fence.
