A lucid living lifestyle and wellness brand.
A community for wellness warriors, abundance manufacturers, meditation junkies, and enlightenment chasers.
What is Woo Woo Wellness?
In 2022, Jen Quintana launched Woo Woo Wellness from her home at Hale O Kauka Healing Garden on Maui as a network of energy healers supporting lucid living and health and wellness with a spiritual lens. We’ve evolved a lot since our first vision of a different kind of wellness network. We operate from a place that values freedom, authenticity, personal alignment and speaking our truth from a place of discernment. We lean into our shadow work, break down our stories and offer connection and space to everyone we encounter. We don’t mind saying out loud the things that our minds aren’t programmed to believe, so you don’t feel alone in your awareness. In short, we speak the language of your soul and we’re glad you’re here.

Ex JWs Reminiscing About the Cult Days Over a Cup of Tea
On the porch at Hale O Kauka Healing Garden, Jen has a candid conversation with her ex-husband Jeremy Quintana. They talk about growing up and dating inside the Jehovah’s witness community About being forced into marriaage, Jeremy’s suicide attempt and their journey leaving the religion, co-parenting through chaos and where they are now, full circle.
No matter what religion you may have been raised in this is an acknowlegent of the challenges that face youth who are being raised in dogmatic organized communities that restict how they think, believe, live and the life long impacts on family systems and relationships.
Some terminology definitions for watchers not familiar with the JW organization/religion:
Elder: highest level of leadership within the congregatuon, like a pastor or minister. They have leadership responsibilities, give sermons (called talks) and participate in judiciary hearings to determine if congrgamts should be removed/shunned for erong doing. There are 3-5 in any congregation and they meet together as a group weekly to dscuss and olan congregation matters. They are given/assugned added responsibilities to oversee various aspects of the congregation like finances or ministry.
Kingdom Hall: the meeting place of Jehovah’s Witnesses similar to a church. They typically are one level with no windows and a stage with theater or auditorium style seating and a back room or library for private meetings. The back room frequently has a window view to the main auditorium and can be used for overflow seating with the sound piped in through speakers from the main auditorium. This is also a place to discipline children or to sit with children who are being noisy (crying baby) so as not to disrupt the main meeting. It is also a room where elders meet with members who maybe in trouble or getting counseled. A counter and storage area where literature and JW publications could be distributed is also part of the function of a Kingdom Hall
Dis-fellowshipped (if baptized and removed by judiciary elder committee decision)/ dis-associated (if voluntarily remove self or if un-baptised): various levels of ex-communication which require rhe congregation including family members to shin an individual used as punishment and to protect the congregation from bad actors.
The Truth: what JWs call their own religion
Worldly: what JWs call non believers who are outside the religion, akin to gentile in the jewish faith
Meetings: formal congregation events held at the Kibgdime Hall like a hur h service however attendance is mandatory unless you are sick and scheduled for 5 meetings a week on 3 different nights. That schedule has been reduced some in recent years we are told and/or some meetings are conducted virtually since the pandemic.
Service: essentially knocking on doors to preach to people That activity has become more passive in recent years with JWs sitting on street corners with a supply of literature to engage passers by. Any form if preaching work including letter writting to strangers is considered and counted as service.
We hope you are inspired to find your own truth through our sharing Have a beautiful Sunday!

The Bible clearly states that before humans appeared on the earth, only Jehovah's family of witnesses existed in the universe. The first witness to leave the family was the angel who became "Satan" the apostate. Today, either one is serving Jehovah or the adversary Satan. There is no sitting on the fence.

How has your TM practice gone over the last 4 years? Have you tried self-inquiry (atma vichara) from Ramana Maharshi or Papaji (and many other advaita teachers)? David Godman covers both of those teachers extensively, and what they mean by instant enlightenment, etc. Thanks for sharing your journey to enlightenment! om shanti
Thanks
People are leaving this cult in droves, which is good. The best to you.
J INDENTIFYING GOD'S ORGANIZATION But is there an organization among men that does measure up to the requirements of God's Word, the Bible? Is there an organization whose members are drawn together in a love for one another, in total disregard of class, race, nationality, language or other distinction? And does such organization engage in a worldwide preaching program, extending to the poorest citizens the opportunity to advance in Bible knowledge? Yes, there is such an organization---only one! It is the organization of Jehovah's witnesses, well known by their preaching work in 197 lands. What are the facts to prove this"? Consider a few of them. Within the congregation of Jehovah's witnesses in any area there is no distinction. The poorer and the more prosperous members mingle freely and serve together as preachers and teachers of God's Word. All Witnesses have equal opportunity to speak up in congregational Bible discussions. When the Witnesses come together and associate as one great \happy family----just as though they had known one another all their lives. People on the outside marvel at the fact that they 'have love among themselves.' In another respect the Witnesses conform to what the Bible presents as the true image of the organization that would be doing God's will on earth. They are engaged in preaching the good news of God's kingdom worldwide, stressing that their Kingdom----and not the United Nations or any other human organization----is the sole hope for suffering humankind.

@@MrChinchilla_hn What's your problem?
Love the bikes! Amber and I went to Vagas and got married also! I go back to the meetings just for the fun of being free and taking it in from this perspective! I just did a Belizean Creole Congregation with a close friend who's also was raised. these new changes are too funny!
I found that the ministry school was very helpful in my later life. I can do public speaking. The guidance afterwards never bother me, they were all my friends. I learned from there mistakes too
I can totally relate to this!!! I’ve had a couple of these moments
Thank you for sharing!
JW teen parties in the 80’s were the best!!!! Always booze and make out going on. If there weren’t backroom meetings after, it wasn’t a party!
❤ yep! Oh there were back room meeting going in - I witnessed a doozy. I’ll have to do an episode on that!
@@woowoowellness Yes you must! I found it so hypocritical that one of the elders that was always the ringleader in wanting to get us teenagers in trouble ended up being a serial cheater on his wife… Gotta love it!
A degree as a witness would only be recognized by the JWs no one else and there a small group compared to other religions
I disagree. If they took the time to comply with over sight agencies and get accredited it could be recognized by employers as legit seminary degree. I’ve served on the boards of spiritual institutions and training institutes. It’s not hard to be a legit educational institution.
@@woowoowellness people would laugh , especially trying to get a job I the real world with that on a resume
You might be surprised how most companies don’t care what your degree is in or who it’s from as long as you can check the box. If JWs were afraid people laughing at them they probably wouldn’t still be preaching about Armageddon and living forever.
I was raised in it, hated it ,im now Born again , Baptist
Watchtower is being PROTESTED on September 13th 2024. Join the protest...in Washington DC at the WHITE House.
I rarely give energy to this organization (neg or positive) and protests like these will likely just feed the narrative that they are oppressed and therefore the true religion. I will not be there. I want to support people who are taking back their lives and their power. Religion will fall away without my help. Consciousness is raising and so we collectively rise above the need for dogma at this time in human evolution.
The protest is during National Suicide Prevention Month. Many JWS have committed suicide because they no longer believed in the organization & lost their entire family and social network for exercising their FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND CHOICE. Mandated shunning by the leadership is unethical, blackmail, coercion, inhumane, and cruel. Bringing awareness to these types of policies within any organization that is doing this is the goal. The government needs to defund such organizations and change the laws to better protect members of human rights and to better protect children. This is a major problem within many DOOMSDAY CULTS like the Jehovah's Witnesses. Many members are STUCK and are silenced. Hopefully, they will be free as you are, to tell their story without being in fear. Peaceful, impactful protests throughout history have given people their freedom & civil rights. Watchtower & other high controlled groups like them will be held accountable, but only if we make them. The loudest voice in the room will get heard.

Very happy to find your channel. You said you were 43 when you started having an awakening. I'm 43 now, faded for about 8 months from the org. Your vid gives me hope that there's still time for transformation. Looking forward to watching more.
I’ve heard that 43 is a common year for spiritual awakenings - I think according to Rudolph Steiner the spiritual philosopher. Have you read Gary Zukav’s The Seat of the Soul? That was the book that pushed me over. And then I read Eckhardt Tolle’s A Nee Earth. I highly recommend both books
Good video!! Interesting!

I've always been outside of the religion but many relatives are. Additionally, my dad has always been heavily influenced by JWs also outside of it. This left me having to secretly express my spiritual path growing up. I have been intuitively guided to divination but have been made to feel like I need to hide it which left me feeling u authentically myself. I can completely empathise with you. I am so happy you have found your forever path. 😊❤

I didn’t realize the impact it had on me until I was in my 40s. So crazy.
The WT Cult is ruining families and damages children's minds
so have you let go of christianity and the bible altogether? how do you live now?
I had a few years as an atheist before coming back to spirituality. I don’t consider myself Christian although I find a lot of resonance with mystical Christianity. I tend to look for the truths in all religions and spiritual paths. I appreciate Sufism a lot, especially quotes by Rumi. I consider my self spiritual but not religious. And I am a member of the Unitarian Universalist church in pasadena, CA where I used to live and still visit, I also attend a new thought church on island occasionally - these are places I find community without dogma. Some of my biggest influences now are Eckhardt Tolle, Gary Zukav, Rudolph Steiner/Anthroposophy, The Law of One, reality trans surfing and my own discernment. I’m also an avid astrologer and meditation junkie.
What’s tough about being in a sect is that they lie about and bash all the other churches so when you get out, one never wants to step into a church again. They leave with a bitter taste in their mouth. If you follow the New Age movement to the T, the mindset is just as dangerous as the Jehovah Witnesses. It’s traumatizing. You know that you are in a cult by what happens to you if you decide to leave.
I was living in Pasadena a couple of years ago. A Southern California native. 😊 Thanks for sharing your story.

Hey, I’m 13 and a Jehovah’s Witness. I completely unfortunately where you’re coming from and I hope you do well in your recovery. I love the way you put this so respectfully and I wasn’t raised until I was adopted. The only thing I want to mention is that it wasn’t right for you to be forced into it if you didn’t want it. I have to deal with it a lot but luckily my family doesn’t make me do it and it’s my choice weather or not I go to meetings or service and I’m so sorry you didn’t get that. I hope you know a lot has changed and the religion has fixed the misunderstanding they have put off. You’re really strong for putting your side of the story online. I hope you keep up the recovery :)
