I've lived in Oklahoma my entire life. I'm Creek and Seminole. I grew up knowing these characters. These are my people and I'm so proud of them for doing this.
I'm Choctaw, Cherokee, and Chickasaw in OK. Did you know this show is already getting hate for "not representing reservation life realistically"? It's like BRO everybody knows Rez life sucks. Who doesn't know that?? It's a reservation! Wtf?! Who needs to be reminded that Rez life sucks?
@@uvovot those Tribes forgot that the state was literally called Indian Territory at one time and just like our Navajo and Lakota brethren, we Oklahoma Tribes deal with racism and issues up front. A'ho my relatives ! I'm Dińe and this show is incredibly important to all of us. I relieved my childhood as a kid from the Navajo Rez, moved to Phoenix years ago. You could call me a city rez kid. But this show tells our story and our struggles, and strength. I love this show so much. I hope youths and people would take this show seriously and understand how this show is important to us indigenous people.
I worked five years in a Cherokee emergency room. When the doctor said "I'm the everything doctor." - that checked out. The CN ER/urgent care docs see EVERYTHING!
listen to these people speak so proudly of their heritage. and seeing the younger generation talk eloquently about the history of her people and where it is today. awesome stuff! great show and i hope we get to see multiple seasons.
I'm loving the show. It's raw. It's real. It's funny. I grew up white but Dad, whose first language was Portuguese, didn't embrace the heritage of his mother, who was born on the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Reservation. I didn't know that until after she was gone. A dozen years ago when my life fell apart, when I fell apart, the brothers from my Native American Circle picked me up. My experience with them makes this show all the more real for me.
Congratulations to you all! It is way past time that these stories, controlled by the indigenous, are told. The show is a joy to watch. Funny, heart-felt, and has beautiful charachter development. Thank you all!
I'm so glad they have this show. I just wish it was hour long rather than a half an hour. I feel that they have just scratched the surface of these characters. But it is beautiful to see some of our own making it and making their voices heard.
I love Paulina’s character. I can never be her, but damn her character is funny af. This cast ensemble is 10/10! I’m man Netflix didn’t get D’Pharoah as Sokka if he had audition for ATLA. I’m glad that this show is popping. To think that a few decades ago, its white people who portrayed these characters. I’m very happy for them all. Edit: Everyones are great and loved to see them more in different roles. (I’m pissed Netflix cancelled The Order. I wanted more story of Kawennahere’s character!)
Willie Jack is my fav character, she funny af. She's the little sister that'll jump into a fight to help you beat the bullies, beat you, & make snide comments at the same time just for the fun of it.😂🤣 #RezDogs4L #Skoden 🏹
It's crazy to see that a show about natives on the rez in OKLAHOMA pretty much relates to everyone who's lived on rez anywhere. I'm Nomlaki-Wintun from Grindstone Indian Rancheria
I'm in love with this show, and they're right, us indigenous people can be funny too and I'm so glad the world can see how we do our version of humor, can't wait for season 2 to see if Elora makes it to California
Congratulations!!!! I wish you great success and hope you can come up with more films and TV programs from your cultures point of view. You have so many stories and can rewrite history. EXITO! 👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌👍👍👍👍
To see our people on the TV screen... being who we are is amazing without really having to act the part more like we live the part of life INDIGENOUS MOVIES , MUZIC , NOW T.V. YEE YEE I LOVE IT 🌵🦅💫🥁✊🏼
This show is hilarious and eye opening. Not Native but often mistaken as Native by everyone, including Natives. I'm honored by the mistake, but ashamed by how people often treat them, just from the experiences I've had. I feel a strong bond as a result. This helped me understand even more. Thank you.
I mean I never doubt ndn humor I crack me up. Im super down with the production well every part. I'm glad it hasn't offended me. Tread light stay true is all u got to do. Aho
This is everything for those of us that didnt grow up around other Natives and the rez. So many of us had Grandparents that were stolen from their tribes and families, and their children and grandchildren are lost in America. We are Navajo, but grew up in South Central LA and until recently never even seen another Native outside of my family. Been so many times in my life people assume or get mad I am not mexican, I have been called asian, and told I look sick because of my skin. And white people touching my effing hair is creepy af.
As a Mvskoke Creek who has lived in Maine and spent time up in the County and Backwoods Canada, and where Rez Dogs was filmed, YOU ARE WICKED SPOT ON! I was thinking the same thing when they were still working on Rez dogs.
Too bad I can’t afford hulu and paying for extra shows. Indian humor certainly different and even funnier when not trying to be funny. Had kid friend who went to Ft. Sill with me to see where Geronimo jailed. He was 10 and kept asking me if he would see any real indians that day. I told him to go look in the mirror in the bathroom. He said huh? What you mean? The kid was half Native and looked Native. At first it was funny but then it wasn’t funny to me because he was expecting to see TV characters. Another guy would never let me have him over for dinner. The joke vibe was that he was for dinner (canabalism) even though he was invited for tacos. The craziness just comes out in everyday life and one has to pay attention.
They always talk about how they would have loved to see this show when they were kids. When you were a kid you would have been too young to watch it anyways.
You know what's funnier than Indians on tv? ...Indians watching Indians on TV. Loving this show.

Feeling so seen and heard here. Much love from the Menominee nation
This show is so dope ❤️🙏🏽 think how much we’ve been missing out on for years by not having these native stories told by natives front and center
This show is great !!! I think it is very unique and I'm happy they are finally showing something like this on TV.
I have a big crush on Paulina, she seems so kool and chill.

Great show. I'm hooked. I've already laughed and cried with the characters and I'm excited for Monday's now!

She has great comedic timing. While she has little dialogue she kills it when delivering her lines. I also love the twins….hilarious.

I wonder if the creators of this show were influenced or inspired by Sherman Alexie’s “Smoke Signals” movie?
I mean that movie still is important for natives/Rez life portrayed in pop culture so I would believe so
Taika referenced this film two years ago. Try searching Taika Waititi and telling indigenous stories on TH-cam. Clip should come up
