Happy tears after hearing her say “they wanted Rez Kids, they got Rez Kids”. All my life I wanted to see my people represented as us. To see it makes me so happy and proud!
Yes!!! I just hope these white don’t try and use feathers how we use them, like how Willie was wearing hers. They can’t be us but they can support! 🙌🏽
That was awesome when she said that
@@AddamsHaunted maybe ? Nick Cannon wears one and then all these models be wearing war bonnets 🤦🏽♂️ and I’m from Poh Woh Geh Owingeh, a tribe in NM ! You ?
@@ShhItsSanti I was born in Arizona and always loved, loved, loved the fry bread fundraisers and watching the Apache and Navajo dancers. I would never wear a feather, even though I think it's so beautiful. I'll stick to flowers in my hair. But my only friend in elementary school for years was a Rez Kid, and when my family moved to California when we were going into 6th grade, we lost contact. That one still hurts, and it's been over 25 years since last I saw her. Our moms were friends and her Mom gifted a sand painting to my Mom, which my Mom still hangs in every new home she goes to... I know there is a lot of heartache and generational trauma wrapped up in Native culture, so I also hope no one is ignorant enough to appropriate the culture. This show is seriously the best thing being produced right now!
D'Pharaoh Miskwaatez McKay Woon-A-Tai
That's his name
Never thought I’d see the day when we see this representation for us Natives. Such a great show and glad to see them on late night TV.
For real
Today is a win
Coming from North Dakota fuck yea 💯🙌🏽
I love you!!!
Love this!
As a native, I got moose bumps watching this. Look how far our indigenous youth has come and I cant wait to see more native representation in the media. blessed to be rezzed
✊🏽❤️✨
th-cam.com/users/patrickisanavajo
I hope this is not offensive... but Native women are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.. etc 😍😍😍
Moose bumps. Love it.
Moose bumps? Lmao
The fact that they blurred the owl eyes out so us native viewers didn’t have to look it in the eyes man I love our culture also so many Rez jokes that only natives would die laughing at lol
If you don't mind me asking, what's the significance of owl eyes? I've seen that come up a couple of times
@@TheClari25 in native culture owls are a bad omen, a sign of death, bad luck, etc.
@@TheClari25 accually what's crazy is I used to not believe it but so far every single time I have seen an owl the very next day a close family member has died, sends a chill up my spine just thinking about it. My family is native and growing up I've always been told an owl is a messenger of death
@@That2strokeRider I’ve noticed the closer they get to you when they visit means the sooner someone close to you is going to pass. The messengers of death are no joke.
At first I thought I was just seeing things, but when they did it a second time I knew it had significance. Thank you for explaining it, that helps me understand!
LOVE THIS CAST!!! Willie Jack is one of the funniest characters on television!!! Hulu is killing right now with original content!!!
SKO-DEN
Love Willie Jack!
Hell yeah especially with the new movie prey!!!
Yes hulu is killing it. First this show, then the pray movie and a up coming TV show call. "This Fool" looks interesting.
100%
Not a Native, but that’s the best writing I’ve seen in a long time, and respect to the First Nation people.
“They wanted Rez kids, they got Rez kids.” “Native People are so funny.” Awesome. Beautiful.
There those kids on every rez :D lol
Native Poeple are funny and very prideful
I have only seen Native Americans portrayed as sad or stoic, but never funny. Love the show!
@@jjmanzano9 man u gota hang with are people more ^_^ we teas the luveing fuck puta you bbut if we dident like we wpuldent have anyhting to talk about or care if your around :)
They wanna be Mexicans so bad
man i love seeing more Indigenous representation in the media. it's amazing, reason why is because growing up especially as an Indigenous person you barely see that so i give mighty props to these rez dogs for doing so. can't wait for season 2!
I know it gets trippy, especially when I found out that one of the directors is from where I live! So amazing
oh okay, because all of latin america has not had natives in tv and film since its inseption. common. stop it.
Thank you Jimmy for having these three indigenous actors on your show. We are all very proud of all of them.
They called Indian natives are white!
It's crazy when he said 'its a culture I don't know much about'. It's literally American culture. The education system over there really needs to include Native history and culture
It does (not enough but it does), but stupid people don’t pay attention in school….
Don't worry.. alot of the rest of the world still don't even know we exist but that's fine, eventually the world will know and they will love and respect us just like everyone else 😁👍
They won't because the point is to make people forget or never know, the U.S is a settler colonial state.
@@Rick_Sanchez_C137_ Where did you go to school? Cause where I'm from we learned nothing.
@@supernatural5354 I try to remain hopeful but you're right...
The "ancestor spirit" character is one of my all time favorite characters of any show of a comedy genre. Comedy gold right there.
I have worked on the Native American reservations for about 7 years the humor is way underrated.
They are Lane Factor, Paulina Alexis, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai
So happy to see them on this stage but I think they deserve to have their names listed somewhere in the title or even the description!
I agree! And the one missing from the interview is Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs and she plays the role of Elora.
‘Preciate ya for that!
As a Scotsman 🏴 this is great and inspiring to see another culture showing strength and keeping alive their traditions and getting the recognition and representation they truly deserve, much love and respect ❤️
Hey that’s awesome! So my moms parents are Glaswegian, and my dads side is French/native aka metis. It’s weird being part of two different cultures.
I’m so happy we are finally being recognized, growing up I was always told “I thought you all were dead” and such, now my nephews have role models they can see on tv.
They wish. A bunch of no goods.
@@vienicestyles6122 🙄
That's so messed up. I'm so sorry. People suck.
This is so beautiful.
As a Native from a Rez, it touches my heart!
I’m so happy to see us in such a awesome light. I’m literally trying to hold back my tears.
I been a fan of this show since day 1 and the show is so well done.
happy to see a difference..older other movies always show how badley natives were treated, mistreated, and tricked it would make me mad...always wanted to support natives
I love how respectful Fallon was with these kids. So very different from many of his interviews.
Yakoke For sharing us with everyone.
For realz bro I hear ya on that. He didn’t butt in as usual
@@chrisr8159 yesssss, and no stupid jokes! Just pure respect and I love it.
Aho
Always trust Jimmy for representation nad being respectful and sweet... That is why I love this man... He admitted so sweetly that he knew very less about their culture.
This was the humblest and most real I think I’ve ever seen him, wish it would’ve been longer.
Very less indeed. He’s as clueless as most Europeans are of the people they themselves drove off these lands
@@tezcatlipocacoyotl3137 give him some credit for a respectful demeanor instead of questions about feathers and spirits or something similar.
@@tezcatlipocacoyotl3137 maybe the storyline of the show they're doing will provide some clues
As a rez kid, I never had this growing up but I am so happy my daughter will. Thank you Jimmy Fallon.
I have so many questions I'd like to ask someone who was raised on a reservation I wish I personally knew someone
I wish the first season was nominated at the Emmys. It's so honest and genuine.
So happy to see these incredible kids making appearances and representing the indigenous community 😍 🧡✊ all the "LeLes"
Can't express the happiness I feel seeing our Indigenous people represented. These young adults are paving ground. And it's nice for those of us that weren't fortunate to grow up around our traditions due to past circumstances be able to learn through this show.
I’m Mexican and once live on a Rez with my homeboys and reminded me how close Natives are and how crazy some are 🤣 !But natives are awesome people and had good times on the rez and fun parties. Also that fry bread my boy is fire!!!
Mexicans are majority Native American descended, same people just different culture
Hell yeah!! Native actor’s actually making big moves. This is sick.
I lived ten years on a reservation. Reservation Dogs is extremely accurate in its depiction of rez life. Man, I miss being there.
“They wanted Rez kids, they got Rez Kids” ♥️ couldn’t have worded that any better Paulina!! ♥️
My girlfriend grew up on the rez... and this show just always made her beam. we actually just finished binging season 3 last night, and she was a mess at the end, drowning in tears. lol. such a beautiful ending to one of the best shows on tv.
Kudos to Jimmy for inviting these young Native actors on the show for their first interview. He had also mentioned Reservation Dogs on a previous show a while back which was a nice shout out. These actors are doing a great job and to see Natives being represented in television is long overdo.
I'm Mexican. Grew up in Reno. Hung out with Natives. I'm so proud of them being recognized. 😃 Proud and happy for my native brothers and cousins.🤗
you're still Indigenous too since Hispanics come from Indigenous bloodiness before colonizers took your tribal roots ways away from you
Spaniard+native= Mexican
@@jaythemachine3845 I didn't know that. How is that?
@@sonkatoiaIt all started with Christopher Columbus getting to the Americas and bringing the Spaniards to central and south of the Americas. There was colonization between the 1500s-1800s and the Spaniards during this time mixed with the Native Americans from central and South America. Most of the Hispanics that exist now are descendants of these two groups, the Spaniards and many different native tribes of the Americas. About 60% of the population in Mexico is genetically half Native American and half European. And you can see a lot of native features in Mexicans bc most are still brown and have the almond eyes from their ancestors.
@@armann04Hispanic in itself is a metacolonizer term. Also many of us still have our indigenous roots and cultures !
Couple rez kids on THE JIMMY FALLON!! Rez kids are powerful, so much potential!❤️ I love native representation and seeing them making it BIG, they look so handsome and stunning HIY HIY🥹🧡🧡🧡🪶
Yah! On Late Night...I love these kids, love the show! They know who they are. I appreciate Jimmy being genuinely interested in learning more.
Lived on a couple reservations .. and this show nails native culture and it is a great glimpse into their lifestyle .. and she is right every Rez I lived on as soon as they adopt you they are almost all funny as crap lol but it’s not just that , natives see life differently and the more you are around them the more you begin to see it too and you appreciate life more 💚
💯
I'm not from the Americas, what is the significant compounds of the world view?
So proud to see my people celebrating and expressing our culture, I’m so happy we are being more and more understood and excepted in the media. Can’t wait for the show.
I'm gonna need The Emmy's to stop sleepin on this show! This cast is amazing and this show is perfection. The way that they're navigating reservation life, suicide, absent parents, death, friendship, betrayal and so much more whilst being funny and heartfelt. No other show that I watch is doing it this well. The casting was so intentional on this show and I am so grateful to everyone involved.
This show is phenomenal through and through. The Love shines through every scene. I've cried all the sorts of tears.
Man I love seeing native Americans getting more shine. Keep up the good work.
They’re Canadian lol

I'm so happy to see indigenous representation and can't wait to see more of it!!
it brings tears to my eyes to seeing our fellow indigenous people doing big things! I love

Yay! It's great to see Natives representing Native culture. Nearly every Native community can relate to the Reservation Dogs show.
I was so excited that these amazing people were gonna be on Fallon’s show. However, I am not at all surprised by the fact that their interview was short and the questions were super neutral and seemed to avoid anything that was ‘too’ real and politically challenging. They deserve questions and conversations that center their indigeneity and the potency of what their identities and their stories actually represent. The interview was ‘nice’ and sweet and Fallon is known for his very light and humorous demeanor. I simply want to see these guys taken more seriously on these platforms. I know for a fact most YT folk ain’t ready for that but it’s gotta happen. The cast and the crew for this show are amazing and we also need more rep for other indigenous folk in the industry working on so many great projects with such original stories and true talent. Now is the time. Shout out to these folk for their amazing work! This is only the beginning ✊🏽❤️✨
They don’t know how to act around the real Americans on native land
Yeah, ask Jimmy about the First Nations in New York state and if he has ever been to any.
I do think he is a good guy though. Jimmy, bring the wife and kids and hang out at the res!
@@michaelrmurphy2734 facts! Plus, yeah you are right! My post is in no way meant to diminish him or his great persona. I’ve been a big fan of him ever since I was kid tbh so there’s def no hard feelings. It was all more so big picture talk. Thx for the response Micheal. ✊🏽❤️🔥
Also, I just want to shout out that this was in no way meant to diminish Jimmy or how cool of a dude he is. It also is not meant to underplay how HUGE it is for them to be repping on his show (I mean my jaw dropped when I got the notification-YES!). I’m so proud of them, though I an a non-native myself, but still a BIPOC/PGM who has worked with and learnt from many amazing native folk, I understand how exciting this is for so many of our Indigenous folk here in Turtle Island 💙, from the elders to the youth. Representation MATTERS and Indigenous storytelling like this, from the hearts and minds of indigenous folk on and behind screen is so 🔥. My only hope now (with regard to this) is that they keep getting more opportunities and that one day shows like this are NOT a rarity. ❤️✨That way, folks like jimmy (yt or not), can also start to spread their awareness, concern, allyship, and knowledge about the people who are most sacred to this home of ours; our indigenous people who still walk and live here. Time to educate yourself folks and for those of us who didn’t even know about how indigenous people live today, you should take that as an opportunity to learn as well as really question WHY that is. You will see, that amongst other reasons, that’s why they need the representation. Besides, their stories are 🔥 so I have no doubt this thing will only keep going in a good direction. ✊🏽🥲✨
Let's not get too upset over the interviewer talking more than the guests, let's just be grateful these kids are able to be on TV. There's no way to measure the effect this will have on the next 7 generations
Thank you for representing us in the media! This is so rare to see. I love you even more! 🤎
One of the best shows on in years. Completely hooked, and the entire cast, not just the kids are all so endearing and hilarious.
i started watching Reservation Dogs from its premiere and I loved it immediately.
Jimmy Fallon really is the man making this their late night debut
representation is everything

Willie Jack is one of my favorite TV characters of all time. She's so funny and kind and completely herself. Great writing & acting!
She's a total scene stealer and a style icon, imo. Loving season 2 so far. 😉👌
COMPLETELY AGREE
Paulina is so beautiful... even how they portray her on the show as someone who isn't meant to be attractive, she is still crazy beautiful. On top of that, she is the best character on the show by far. A super relatable character and is very realistic.
It's so special seeing our youth in this way.. so talented. This show brings so much to life that ppl would otherwise would't know.Native Lives Matter ☮
I had to pause this clip twice to wipe my tears of pride and joy. These young actors deserve everything in life. It is an absolute joy to witness their art and humor.
I can't wait to tune in for this one. I grew up 20 minutes from the reserve and went to school with all Natives. Truth to be told natives are hilarious just like the Mexicans. Its sad that Jamie doesn't know the the culture of the native people :(
Mexicans ARE Native Americans.
But this is a start, right?
Native Americans and Mexicans Americans are the same people that's why.

such deep humanity in this show. It's one of the best I've seen in ages.
Deep humanity is such a great way of explaining it! This is gonna be my explanation from now on whenever anyone asks
Reservation Dogs is a fantastic show! Every character is so loveable and intricate. The comedy is great and the drama and tough stuff is well done and sensitive but really makes you feel it. These actors have huge careers ahead of them. Making big strides in the industry, I'm so excited.
It’s hard to watch this show with a dry eye. I appreciate the awareness this show is bringing. Such amazing characters and amazing writing.
