- Let's keep running through Street Fighter 4's trial mode!!! Today we're running with El Fuerte, it should be a lot of fun! One of his trials is INSANELY hard, and requires 2 1-frame links in a row!!

Street fighter IV is actually a very good game. But there are a lot of these combo trials that are just practically useless and nearly impossible to perform during real matches. If anything, they are time sink with extreme difficulty but little rewards

With how few actual moves there are it’s basically fleshing out your movelist / character specific options

I find Evil ryu so intuitive that the links aren't that hard, like guile or dictator, what do you think ?
I wish I was around for this game in its heyday, it seems like it would be amazing to play with populated servers and having experience from the ground floor

Loving your vids a ton, I remember stumbling through SFIV many moons ago - but since getting into dbfz your videos have been a gold mine of entertainment and information. Combo 24 of Guile hits midscreen, but you have to finish on the opposite direction, just like how you choice the side of Vega wall supers
I've been binge watching a lot of your content lately. I'm just starting to get into fighting games and have enjoyed going through all of your old videos to get some tips and tricks.
I just happened to notice your Purdue shirt in this video. From a fellow Purdue alumnus, Boiler Up!
I was a fool for picking up this game and thinking the trials were there to teach me how to do moves. The timing windows are absolutely bloody ridiculous.
My constant thought while attempting these: "I'm doing exactly what it's telling me to do on the screen, why the hell are you blocking it?"
This game was great, but really bad at instruction.
There were characters like this I wanted to play, but one attempt at their trials told me otherwise. This is impressive. Some of these trials reminded me of learning how to play a musical instrument. I think if you've played an instrument before, you'd do well on these trials. I have no music talent so I only completed like 14 total characters.
God Elf's trials were so hard I spent so much time trying to get those run stop fierce combos.

Oh boy, if he thought two 1-frame links were hard, he's gonna have a nasty surprise when he does Sakura's last Trial Combo.
In my experience the hardest vanilla 4 trials are Gen ones because of very narrow cancel points, also Vega (claw) gets up there because of very tight charge times.
Both got significantly easier because of the changes done on Super 4.
The best thing about this game is how hard the trials are when you first starting out, but after clearing the trials and with a bit of practice you don't even know why you ever thought they were hard and you're just doing them in matches lol

I do all the trials of every fighting game and I'm really good at them. I'm shit at actually playing the games though.

I always found canceling quick recovering normal combos into super a pain. I could never do it fast enough without inputting a special by accident.
Because you actually have to do it slower than you think. For example linking Fei Long's cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lk, cr.lp into rekkas, you have to delay the rekka input after the last jab. Not mash it.
@@tyler-xo3rb thing is I'm not mashing it. Inputting rekka is fine, my issue would be like doing his super after that. And yes, I know the last normal needs to be linked, not canceled.
Putting 2 quarter/half circle inputs in time to cancel the hitstun from light attacks is what I find personally difficult.
@@billytran3692 some of those need you do buffering first.
like some addon stupid trials. take his 17 as example :
St.hp, cr.lp xx super shit.
you need buffer the super between the link by doing d, df, f, d + lp, df, f+ p.
but abel trial 21 you can't buffer it. you need cancel his standing mp into super by reaction so fast.
yeah crapcom knew how to give you exaggerating hard unpractical trial. almost those trials involved normal super cancel which is hard to do for newbie like me. or Insanely Quick FADC ultra after you do several of one frame link normal like ken trial 22, poison trial 19 & 24, ryu trial 24 (hadoken FADC ultra 2).
And it gets into a point where you start messing up stuff you normally can do with your eyes closed
This the fighting game that got me into fighting games. The characters that I consistently played some what well was guile and evil ryu

I cheated with the select button with akuma's
1 frame links aren’t too hard once you get used to them and have been playing this game for long enough. I still play this game and a lot of the good players can do 1 frames practically in their sleep.

You gotta try the ultra trials in Ultra Street Fighter 4. Makes some of the easy character’s trials super hard, like Ken and Blanka. Also, good luck on Decapre’s trials.

can someone tell me the difference between Ryu, Ken, Evil Ryu, and Akuma? I don't get it

They have all the same moves just with different names, it's basically a way to pad out the roster
All the similar moves have different properties and they all play very differently
Mostly ultras and supers, and occasionally different moves

There is a shortcut for delta motions, that apparently goes back to the Alpha series. Basically, at the end the game will accept any upward input, so you really only have to charge down-back and then do a half circle from down-forward to up-backward.

You only need to hold one kick down to do queso bomb. You could hold all of them and release one by one to let three rip in a row. Also, fuerte is not a bad character. The problem is that to use him well, you need absurd execution at all times.

Back when I played SFIV, I hated El Fuerte. jmcrofts is right, it's always just a guessing game with him. I never felt like I deserved any loss I had to him, and I never felt satisfied beating him.
USF4 videos are cool. If I might make a suggestion maybe it could be an idea to split and space out the videos by character? Although if this is better for you I won't mind.
tbh some characters are kind of boring and wouldn't be worth an entire video (i.e. akuma in this vid)
@@jmcrofts Ah I see, yeah I get what you mean. And you'd still want to show and see all of the characters for completeness sake. El Fuerte had surprisingly very interesting (and unsurprisingly wacky) challenges in this video, besides the 3H combo you had showed lol
