I've learning fighting games first time the last month after playing them casually for the last 20 years or so, spent around 90 hours in SF5, it's honestly not easy but every day I feel there's a small improvement. I started to read patterns easier and punish some moves here and there. I'm still bronze, but I'll keep learning. Believe me you'll enjoy the ride once you get into them, I encourage you to start playing and learn 🙂
I think people enjoy watching fighting games (myself included) because there's an appreciation for the sheer skill and time it takes to learn inputs, combos, frame data and matchups plus execute in front of thousands. These are games we can all play but not things we can all do.
There is a tutorial on how to touch a wall with an apple. look it up.

I love my HORI Fighting Commander. Wish there was a program that actually works to get a PS3 CONTROLLER to work on PC that wasn't a complete pain in the ass.
This video has been extremely useful, for myself specifically. I tend to hold my controller almost the same way he does in the video, so it's really easy to adapt to the way he's teaching
My biggest problem when playing fighting games with a controller is it's extremely hard to use the d-pad to do the move that are designed for a stick (for example: zigzag, half circle, 3/4 circle, full circle,...). I just use the analog to do those moves, although it's not really consistent.
This is actually super helpful, I've always disliked the whole quarter circle input scheme for a lot of fighting games. I always tried playing them on analog not d-pad because I didn't think it was possible. Growing up with Tekken d-pad always felt more comfortable so I'm really happy to see that it is in fact possible.
Once you get the feel of the quarter cirlce it becomes second nature, one thing that I just can’t do is the full circle inputs, the tekken character king has a few of them and I just can’t do them
After all those years I only realized now after watching this video that the Z-move is "forward > down > forward". I somehow interpreted as: "backwards > forward > (holding) down > backwards > forward" and always wondered why it only worked maybe 20% of times (by pure accident) haha. Needless to say, this video helped me quite a bit!
It's not even forward > down > forward lol, the correct motion is ➡⬇↘, so, for the second "forward" you don't even need to go all the way to the horizontal direction, its just halfway from down So even less movement!
As a fighting game player since the SNES SSFII days (Alpha 3 is still in my top 5 games of all time) that never really got competitive, this is SUCH a good intro to fighters! I can easily share this video with friends I'm trying to get into fighters without worrying that they won't have a fair shake...SUCH useful info! Basic to veterans but so perfectly explained for newer players, thank you~!
This is the video I was looking for. I recently got into street fighter and coming from mk and smash ,executing special commands like the Z shaped ones on a d pad seemed kinda difficult for me and I didn’t wanna switch to the analog stick. So thank you for showing me ur perspective and giving tips on what to do and how to do those moves.
There is no such thing as a z shaped input in fighting games. Its a misprint from the early days that still persists today apparently. You just press forward before doing a quarter circle. The only problem is its so easy to perform once you know this you have to be careful not to do a shoryuken instead of a fireball.
i always switched them on snes and made l and r light kick and punch. on a ps4 controller square would be my heavy punch and x my heavy kick, triangle med punch and o med kick. never understood how people could be comfortable with the default controls.
I've always used the stick on my dualshock 4 when im playing fighting games but i always wanted to use the d-pad because i always thought that my execution would be much better. But everytime i tried using it, it felt stiff and uncomfortable... Now that this vid got recommended to me, i can finally try to practice using those tips!
Going deep into fighting games seriously is a whole school of science on its own - the ergonomics of holding a controller and mastering it for efficiency is just the tip of the iceberg... the frame data, punishing, reads, creativity in comboing etc. is the real deal. I dropped out of this school years ago!
I'm a stick player and dropped pad long ago, but I'm watching this because my newcomer friends are pad players so I'm scouting out some tips for them. Glad I was recommended this.
This is a great video, I just kinda wish you'd shown pressing all three punches or kicks at the same time, since you don't have them mapped to a single button. Without a macro, it can be pretty rough pressing 3 buttons at once on a controller.
Great point, i usually have it map depending on what chara and what super i have, i totally forgot to map it for this demo. I usually map it for L1 or L2
Appreciate the explanation. It kinda bugs me whenever I'm trying to do a Shoryuken and it either becomes a HP or a Hadouken. But I guess you can deal with that with enough practice. I've been getting used to the analog stick on PlayStation for years, trying to do a Z-Motion with a DS4 stick is really difficult. Not impossible of course, but difficult. I could try to start using the D-Pad though, but it'll probably take a while before I even get used to it haha
I am new to d-pad (used to play Soulcalibur 3 with an analog stick years back), and it's been years since I've played fighting games, and I never knew that doing a Hadouken and Shoryuken could be that easy! Thanks!
playing blazblue using dpad me : ill give it a try, this should be easy tager’s and kokonoe’s astral heat : (↗️➡️↘️⬇️↙️⬅️↖️⬆️ x 2 ), Special me : *chuckles* im in danger
zack enstein 😂 yup, oh and most grappling characters. Lol I’m a pad player and I stay away from them because of that factor. Not that it isn’t obtainable. But because trying executing it consistently, is almost impossible. But then again, that might depend on the control you have.
Rebecca C it seems easier to hit triangle and circle easier, but i think i will be very confused 😂 because i am too used to the regular system light to medium to heavy. I dont think i can ever get my brain to change that sequence. But also, medium buttons are more important than heavys. They are used way more for pressure and combos, you should prioritize them instead of heavys. 🙏❤️
I have been playing pad for 20+ years and always had issues canceling specials into super great video just goes to show you can still learn things you might not have known.
I’m a Vega main in both USF4 and SFV, so maybe the d’pad might work better, I’m going to try it out. And I like that button layout for for V-Skill and Throw, that might work faster
Jesus. Thanks for this. Ive been ol Playing capcom, namco fighting games for god knows when and this teaches me the basics ive never knew that its possible.
OMG thank you for this video! I've been playing the SF6 demo to get ready for the full game. This is my first fighting game so I had no idea how to cancel shoryus and kicks into supers. It's so easy now! You really do learn something new every day lol.
thanks a lot brother, after your video the double quater-circle is very easy to do, in 25 hours when i tried to do it myself, i did it 1 time out of 15, now 9 out of 10 instantly from this video.
Is not bad to practice a little on the pad, knowing both is good. I can play okay ok the pad. If i ever go somewhere and they only have pad, at least i can put up an okay match 🙏❤️
DRAG1811 thank you, depending on the character, i will map vtrigger and v skill on the left side, for example, if a character have a bad vskill, and the vtrigger require more pressing after activation, i will put vtrigger as one of the L1 or L2 buttons. But yea, try them out , and btw, how do you map your buttons on for sf5?
Great video! I don't have an arcade stick, and this video helped me a lot, specially with the super! I like a lot your videos, because I'm still learning how to play fighting games. One thing that is difficult to in Street Fighter is to understand the "timing" of combos (different from Mortal Kombat), if possible, can you give some tips to understand better how it works?? Thanks!!
sorry about the late reply, i didn't get a notification for this comment, that is hard to show, i think is manly playing a lot of rounds and getting used to the timing 🙏❤️
Street Fighter 2 on the Super Nintendo taught me how to use a controller to play fighting games. It also made me horrible on fighting sticks once I stopped playing them in arcades because I never used one at home. Another factoid, I map strong punch and light kick to shoulder buttons because I use those the least back then and I still do the same today. I'm not a competitive player so I don't care if that's not ideal.
This is a great video, wish I saw something like this a long time ago. Was hoping you’d show how to do a tiger knee dragon punch on the dpad. I can do it but not consistent enough for zero’s lightning loops in umvc3
I've been playing every fighting game on pads since forever. There's only 2 things I think are really, really hard to do.... using 3 buttons at once multiple times such as trying to airdash/wavedash in XMen vs Street or other old Marvel games, or mashing (like mash out from grav tempest in MvC2), everything else I can do just fine on pad. even mashing out of grav tempest I used to be able to do back in the day, but my years of not training made me lose this skill... hahah
ik this video is a year- maybe almost 2 years old but- i came to say thanks a bunch for the help dude! no- really, thank you. i was so use to analog for a while and wanted to learn how to use the d'pad since my friend uses it and i wanted to as well. so yeah, thanks again dude!
I play casually on sticks, but I had a problem with my faithful 2nd Impact (brazilian brand) lever last week, and cannot replace it right now so this video really comes in handy.
My main struggle is in KOF when you have to do half circle back half circle forward, or 2x half circle forward, etc during a combo. And finally in games like Guilty Gear or BBTAG to do air jump cancels. I feel that it just works 40% of the time. The game registers forward and up instead of a diagonal input
I know I'm 2 years late, nonetheless. I got Guilty Gear (the 1998 one) for steam since it was on sale now, and it cost almost nothing. Anyway, I'm used to playing Tekken and Mortal Kombat on a ps4 controller. I never went hard into those games but I knew very basic combos well. Point is, I find it near impossible to do any moves that require a back or forward input and then immideatly a half circle, like May's dynamic. I can't even imagine playing KOF honestly, MK seems to be a lot easier on inputs.
Great video. I always have trouble with inputs like back forward, where I accidentally press up/down while transitioning. Also would be great if you make videos for other fighting games like Tekken and MK11
Thank you for the video. It answered a few questions I had. I have been playing Street Fighters for a few years. I have been using Ryu primarily and Guile. I can only do Shoryuken when Ryu faces to the right. For some reasons, my left thumb cannot execute Shoryuken when Ryu faces left. I cannot execute any combo either. I have a question actually. When you start a combo, do you wait until the character is ready for the next move or just execute the whole sequence? For example, if I want to start a combo with a jumping kick, do I wait until my character lands on the ground for the next move, or I can execute the whole sequence without waiting? Thank you.
Thats a great questions, also a hard question to answer, i know that in tekken7, you have to input the commands earlier. Where as in street fighter, its closer to hitting it at the same time. Sf5 is more lenient that it gives us abit more window for inputs, once you get the timing and muscle memory, you will pick it up quick. So the answer is basically almost near the same time, you can see a move hit and then input the command and it will still connect, but in games like marvel vs capcom, and tekken, you kinda just have to go for it
Damn i like your vids. You explain things very clean. Even if if used the ps4 controller only for the damn MK 11 Tut Trials, for me the Hori Fight Commander is the best way.
Man, that's really cool, thanks for the content. I really struggle with pads on movement like dash and combo timing. It's frustrating and I can't buy an arcade stick atm.
Carlos Maldonado what i used to do is repeating the same combo in training room for hours. 😊 it make the muscle remember the gesture and inputs, you will be good with it very soon 🙏❤️ thank you for watching
I instead look for characters that will not use DP and with those I have practiced as Ukyo Tachibana doing Tsubame gaeshi for hours only hard one it's Tsubame Gaeshi in backdash little jump.
In my opinion the Hori Fighting Commander Pro is the best control pad to use for fighting games & for $38 on Amazon it's a steal. Trust me,you won't regret it!!! What's your gamertag??? Mines is MyRedemption13(Xbox) MyRedemption_13(PS4) Mr 4Got10(Switch)
My Quiet Reviews thank you for the info🙏, i ll check out controller, i have too many too accounts, and its shared among friends, so basically i dont really have one for my self 😭
This has helped me greatly, SF5 jusy came out for free (ps+) and since I have a bit of experience of fighting games like fighterz, SF5 controls are waaay more difficult and different than in fighterz, thanks for the guide
Thank you so much for this video. I've been playing with an xbox360 controller and although I got used to it, I still feel like a miss a good 30% of my inputs because the d-pad is not responsive enough. Is the Dualshock 4 that good? or do you just have a lot of practise with it? I've also been thinking about getting a Hori Fighting Commander, but while the reviews for that gamepad are good, I've seen people complain because the hori d-pad gets loose and mushy after 6 months of use or so.
D pad is much better because of the separation of the four directions instead of being all together like an xbox d pad which is more prone to miss inputs
I play mk on ps4 and Xbox and the Xbox one controller is much better. The DualShock dp is low quality sticky and squishy, you can’t feel when you press the pad. The Xbox is actual buttons to its dpad and the elite comes with a fighting dish for the dpad that is good
How did this comment get pass the notification, i feel like youtube be missing notifications and comments , as you can tell i reply to every comment in the same day. To answer your question, the dualshock is okay, to me its actually better than alot of pads i tried, but i dont use pad that much in general. But if i was to use one, i usually just play with the ps4 controller, but some people just have a lot of practice with it, and the muscle memory comes in 🙏❤️ thank you for watching, and sorry i missed you comment
Learning fighting games was harder then than now because we figured out a lot dumping quarters and stuff picked up out magazines. If you were around for arcades we all know that guy that made us all want to learn how to play street fighter 2 and the first mortal kombat
This video is so helpful. The stick on the PS5 is a little rough imo and doing all these shoryukens starts to get my thumb sore. Especially when I'm a little bit sweaty so my thumb starts rubbing against it.
How the heck was this video recommended to me so late like this ? I'm a constant fan and follower of fighting games for years, and I'm getting this amazing video this late ?! really youtube ? I thought you know what I like.
Acutally having a lot of trouble learning fighting games but i do really enjoy them, this video helped me a lot and hope i will improve, don't want to move on an arcade stick even for playing grapplers

The way I play with my controller is the way I’ve played it my whole life! I had no idea that it was something that some players had difficulty with. I hold it very similar to you and but I use the analog stick. I used to use the Directional buttons.
Man, thank you SO much. I always played with stick on gamepad, but there's always a situation, when I do bad motion input and a character doing wrong move. Last time I played DNF Duel I lost a few matches, because I was trying motion inputs, but insted of doing quarter cirlce forward, game reconized it as quarter circle backward for some reason. I flipped really hard after this and tried for some kind of solution. Thanks to google it led me to your video and I tried to use D-pad. Before D-pad was really hard for me, but this guide make it so easy to understand, so now I try to play only on D-pad. I'm still garbage at fighting games, but at least the character doing what I want now. I even go from level 3 to level 6 in Strive, just because of this. So thank you again so much.
@@PomadaGaming yeah, it's gonna take some time. I spent about an hour only to memorise how to press buttons correctly. After that it was just practice and practice again. After a few days ilI learelned how to do kabari, tatmi gaeshi and youzansen almost without mistakes. 3d fightings are still a problem though, but I think it's because Tekken for example is hard as hell overall.
thanks pal I've wanted to get better at controller but I've only been using the joystick on my controller but since I went in the training area and used d pad on my ps5 controller I've got a little bit better at fighting games thanks
For me I can't do QCs with D Pads consistently(Especially QCF) so I've decided to basically use my analog stick just for QCs and while more difficult for me, it's much more consistent to do and still fun!

JoyStickNY Try an Sega Saturn OEM or their reputable clones, so much better than a Dual Shock 4. I know I’ve used PS controllers since PS1. Luffy PS1 pad is the best then Dual Shock 2, 3 and lastly Dual Shock 4. The PS4 controller is so bad in comparison to these other options for fighting games. KoF inputs are harder, you should try KoF.

I am new to d-pad (used to play Soulcalibur 3 with an analog stick years back), and it's been years since I've played fighting games, and I never knew that doing a Hadouken and Shoryuken could be that easy! Thanks!
Welcome aboard 👍🙏❤️
I’m really new to street fighter(played MK my whole life but suck at SF) and I can’t explain how helpful this was :D
playing blazblue using dpad
me : ill give it a try, this should be easy
tager’s and kokonoe’s astral heat :
(↗️➡️↘️⬇️↙️⬅️↖️⬆️ x 2 ), Special
me : *chuckles* im in danger
zack enstein 😂 thank you for sharing 🙏❤️
zack enstein 2 times? Dude, tagers astral is 3 times 360 xD
Nerd Anime thank you for watching ❤️🙏
JoyStickNY no problem :D, im a just a casual player but i love watching pros plays so great video, keep it up
zack enstein 😂 yup, oh and most grappling characters. Lol I’m a pad player and I stay away from them because of that factor. Not that it isn’t obtainable. But because trying executing it consistently, is almost impossible. But then again, that might depend on the control you have.
This is similar to my set-up, the only difference is my medium and heavy are swapped; I find it easier to hit /\+O than R1+R2.
I need timestamps for those transactions
They are awesome
I should put times stamp when i get a chance to divide the segments ❤️🙏
@@JoystickNYHe didn't get the chance to divide the segments 😭
Yep.. 30 years later and I still learned something.
I have been playing pad for 20+ years and always had issues canceling specials into super great video just goes to show you can still learn things you might not have known.
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️
I’m a Vega main in both USF4 and SFV, so maybe the d’pad might work better, I’m going to try it out. And I like that button layout for for V-Skill and Throw, that might work faster
Shark Dude 7 vega is a tough character to play 👍 takes a lot of patience , enjoy 🕹
Jesus. Thanks for this. Ive been ol
Playing capcom, namco fighting games for god knows when and this teaches me the basics ive never knew that its possible.
Timogen Viente glad it helped ❤️🙏
Naoto kurogane players hahaha: im one of them with the ps4 controller
OniimuSya 😂 thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Same he’s a fun character but really hard to use
That One Teen Gamer yea, usually the ones that are hard to use tends to be good 😊
OMG thank you for this video!
Very good 👍
Have you tried using the new back button attachment? I've been wondering what that would be like.
that thing seems trivial to me tho. It's pure preference, and the basic mapping of the game is good enough already
Miguel Alcalá i have not yet, looks interesting, but also seems like a lot to handle lol 🙏❤️
Lucius Gaming i think i ll stay with just the controller too 🙏❤️
"How to hold a controller"
"How to open an umbrella"
Haha 🙏❤️ thank you for dropping by
I never use analog controls playing fighting games dont know why maybe played dozens of these type of games during sega and ps1 era
SCUFFED STREAM LOVERS thank you for sharing ❤️🙏
same
Watching this video in 29/12/2024. It was very herlperful ..Tks to save me time in my beginner journey in the fighter games.
Brooo this is what i was finding for months thanks man
Will start practicing on controller now cause i broke my arcade stick
Is not bad to practice a little on the pad, knowing both is good. I can play okay ok the pad. If i ever go somewhere and they only have pad, at least i can put up an okay match 🙏❤️
Depending on the fighting game I’m playing I usually switch from d pad to analog stick
I see, thank you for sharing 🙏❤️
I do that as well
Thinking Odd thank you for watching ❤️🙏
i will try yours settings for SFV, good vid man
DRAG1811 thank you, depending on the character, i will map vtrigger and v skill on the left side, for example, if a character have a bad vskill, and the vtrigger require more pressing after activation, i will put vtrigger as one of the L1 or L2 buttons. But yea, try them out , and btw, how do you map your buttons on for sf5?
@@JoystickNY just the same a you but in the L1 and L2 i put the 3 punchs and 3 kicks, i use the ps4 pad and the hori pad 4
DRAG1811 gotcha 👍
Great video! I don't have an arcade stick, and this video helped me a lot, specially with the super! I like a lot your videos, because I'm still learning how to play fighting games. One thing that is difficult to in Street Fighter is to understand the "timing" of combos (different from Mortal Kombat), if possible, can you give some tips to understand better how it works?? Thanks!!
each character and each sfv version have diferent time combos, practice will make you able to catch the time
sorry about the late reply, i didn't get a notification for this comment, that is hard to show, i think is manly playing a lot of rounds and getting used to the timing 🙏❤️
I dropped the game cuz of its hard inputs and me not getting it ever but this might help thank u man
Thank you so much, hope it helps ❤️🙏
Street Fighter 2 on the Super Nintendo taught me how to use a controller to play fighting games. It also made me horrible on fighting sticks once I stopped playing them in arcades because I never used one at home. Another factoid, I map strong punch and light kick to shoulder buttons because I use those the least back then and I still do the same today. I'm not a competitive player so I don't care if that's not ideal.
This is a great video, wish I saw something like this a long time ago. Was hoping you’d show how to do a tiger knee dragon punch on the dpad. I can do it but not consistent enough for zero’s lightning loops in umvc3
gerry72197 the dragon punch is shown in the video, did you see it?
Do a Tekken tutorial especially crouch dash on ps4 gamepad or arcade stick
Alixis Burudin great idea, i should add it to my video list ❤️🙏
is easy
I am happy you give dpad a try 😊
I play casually on sticks, but I had a problem with my faithful 2nd Impact (brazilian brand) lever last week, and cannot replace it right now so this video really comes in handy.
Thank you for watching ❤️🙏
My main struggle is in KOF when you have to do half circle back half circle forward, or 2x half circle forward, etc during a combo.
And finally in games like Guilty Gear or BBTAG to do air jump cancels. I feel that it just works 40% of the time. The game registers forward and up instead of a diagonal input
I feel you brother, kof is definitely has the most strict inputs, they should make it easier. Its very time strict 🙏❤️
Thank you for the suggestion, i will takes notes, 🙏❤️
So the answer is basically almost near the same time, you can see a move hit and then input the command and it will still connect, but in games like marvel vs capcom, and tekken, you kinda just have to go for it
I was looking for a tutorial finally i found good one
i was looking for a new pad guide!! thanks dude
TheRadKad Fazo thank you for watching 🙏❤️ hopefully it helped
Damn i like your vids. You explain things very clean.
Even if if used the ps4 controller only for the damn MK 11 Tut Trials, for me the Hori Fight Commander is the best way.
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
Man, that's really cool, thanks for the content. I really struggle with pads on movement like dash and combo timing. It's frustrating and I can't buy an arcade stick atm.
Lucas Morão no worries, wait for the ps5 and see if theres any big sales later on ❤️🙏 thank you for watching
I use a PS4 pad to play samsho, doing DP is difficult for me when I do combos.
Carlos Maldonado i would recommend challenging your self, dont let the controller limit your style 🙏👍❤️
Thanks for the tips! I am new to street fighter five, and now I don’t have to button mash my supers lol.
I am happy to hear this video can help 🙏❤️ thank you
This has helped me greatly, SF5 jusy came out for free (ps+) and since I have a bit of experience of fighting games like fighterz, SF5 controls are waaay more difficult and different than in fighterz, thanks for the guide
Happy to help 🙏❤️
Thank you so much for this video.
I've been playing with an xbox360 controller and although I got used to it, I still feel like a miss a good 30% of my inputs because the d-pad is not responsive enough.
Is the Dualshock 4 that good? or do you just have a lot of practise with it?
I've also been thinking about getting a Hori Fighting Commander, but while the reviews for that gamepad are good, I've seen people complain because the hori d-pad gets loose and mushy after 6 months of use or so.
Bruh
Same question here.
Also! Answer me aswell, NY.
What dpad you preffer, Xbox or dualshock? Tyy
I've been playing pad since I was like 6 why is this in my recommended
Random recommendations 🙏❤️
How you playing on that small screen, lol
Only for demo purpose, i usually use my 24inch monitors 😉🕹🙏❤️
This video really helped me. I always use the joycon because I am very used to it. I think my only problem with the dpad now is noob saibot's teleport
I would recommend using the dpad, its going to make your game play more accurate 👍🕹
Learning fighting games was harder then than now because we figured out a lot dumping quarters and stuff picked up out magazines. If you were around for arcades we all know that guy that made us all want to learn how to play street fighter 2 and the first mortal kombat
I remember those days, we called it paying school tuition to learn ❤️🙏
Helped me a lot used to do circle inputs with the edge of my thumb getting them sore
Happy to help 🙏❤️
This video is so helpful. The stick on the PS5 is a little rough imo and doing all these shoryukens starts to get my thumb sore. Especially when I'm a little bit sweaty so my thumb starts rubbing against it.
I feel you, thats why i prefer stick, its easier on the hand
I usually play fighting games using a keyboard so i wanna learn how to use a controller this time. Thanks man.
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️ learning more equipment is always good 👍
When playing tekken the over hand claw on the face buttons is essential
How the heck was this video recommended to me so late like this ? I'm a constant fan and follower of fighting games for years, and I'm getting this amazing video this late ?! really youtube ? I thought you know what I like.
Thank you so much 🙏❤️ i think is because i am new on youtube
tysm, i was having so much trouble with sf6 demo
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Acutally having a lot of trouble learning fighting games but i do really enjoy them, this video helped me a lot and hope i will improve, don't want to move on an arcade stick even for playing grapplers
Take it slow, when its time, then you will naturally pick one up, stay with what you are comfortable for now 🕹👍
That's a great guide, I use my buttons a little bit different, R1 V Shift, R2 V Reversal, and just grab using with Square and X.
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Nobody on TH-cam did such a good video on the DualShock than you. Would you consider to do a similar video on Street Fighter 6 combos with a DualShock or Dualsense ? Thanks
Thank you so much, The combos should also apply to sf6 though,
I can look into making a updated version with sf6 elements in the future possibly
This is the first time I can do a fireball reliably ever since I first started playing street fighter. Thanks for the vedio
Happy to help 🙏❤️
this gets recommended to me
even though i've been using one for several years
Thank you for dropping by 🙏❤️
I normally play games with 26 special input options I do pad, but for 246 or any other stick feels more comfortable
Dig Bick i agree 🙏❤️ thank you for sharing
I've been playing on pad for a year now and I don't know why this showed but hell I'm watching this and liking it and I don't even play street fighter
Knight thank you so much ❤️🙏
thank you so much for the DP input I was really struggling to do it consistently
Anyone else of uses their shirt to cover your thumb to make sliding easier? been doing this since ps1 era and it's a game changer for me.
Do you take off your shirt?
This is such a big help. Just in time also since I just bought SFV:CE last Monday. Didn't know about the super cancels. Thanks so much!
Glad it was able to help 🙏❤️ Thank you for watching
I'm very glad to be under the first 10.000 subscribers of this AMAZING channel.. Seriously my new favorite channel when it comes to the explanation of fighting-game-mechanics and definitely my favorite one when it comes to explaining and promoting the art of fighting sticks.. ^_^
I play beat em up games for over 20 years now and only ever really played with a pad controller, but your videos really make me want to get in tune with fightin sticks much more and i discovert a new passion in the art of mastering them (and maybe even getting familiar with modding some as well) ..Your suggestions and tipps are easy to follow and you explain everything in a very humble and personable way, this is what i also appriciate very much.. So hyped to see this channel grow strong and healthy over time :D
Give it one more year and you can hopefully ad another 0 to the count, that's what i would wish for you.. Best of luck and keep up the good work, my friend !! :-)
Sincerely: a new subscriber !!
Thank you so much for the support ❤️🙏 you definitely motivate me to do better and keep improving, i think adding another zero would be too good to be true for this type of channel😊 it is a very small community, i will already be happy and thankful to even reach 20k in another year, thank you again 🙇🏻♂️
@@JoystickNY All big channels started small once, the quallity you put out is definitely outstanding imho, so i think my "prediction" has it's justification.. :p
I think sega's button configuration style controllers are the best for these games, especially the Saturn one
CNK 98 thank you for sharing ❤️🙏
The way I play with my controller is the way I’ve played it my whole life! I had no idea that it was something that some players had difficulty with. I hold it very similar to you and but I use the analog stick. I used to use the Directional buttons.
I do recommend using the directions, it is more reliable and precise 🙏❤️
The..... analong..... how in the hell?? 😳, I take my hat off, that would be amazing to do
Ya, that takes alot of work
I find ur video randomly but i really like it, thx bro
thank you for the support 🙏❤️
Man I wish lol,I’m still using analog, the movement buttons just don’t sit right with me
@@PomadaGaming yeah, it's gonna take some time.
Appreciate you for watchin; i am happy to hear the video helped 🙏❤️
thanks pal I've wanted to get better at controller but I've only been using the joystick on my controller but since I went in the training area and used d pad on my ps5 controller I've got a little bit better at fighting games thanks
For me I can't do QCs with D Pads consistently(Especially QCF) so I've decided to basically use my analog stick just for QCs and while more difficult for me, it's much more consistent to do and still fun!
I feel you, use what work for you, but dont give up tho, dpad is going to be better in the long run, ❤️🙏
Thanks for the video I've been using the retro-bit Sega Saturn controller with Brook Converter for most of this year.
Mrblackgoldfish i have pretty much use the xbox or ps controller that came with the console most of the time, i never really bought any 3rd party 🙏❤️ thank you for watching
Chronology good to know, i play kof a lot too, from kof 98 to kof 2003, will get kof15 this year
@@JoystickNY Glad to hear that. You should try KoFXIII in the meantime.
Chronology i am waiting for kof15 🤣
I was using the ps4 stick instead of the buttons and I can't get any of these inputs consistently. I'm gonna try the buttons like this dude.
Give it time, Hope it helps 🙏❤️
