  • Hi Everyone, Help Requested through local charities: Samaritans Purse, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, World Central Kitchen, Hearts with Hands or HandsonAshevlle.org an organization I'm volunteering through or larger organization, The American Red Cross! 💗
This is the link to FEMA: www.fema.gov/d...
PLEASE KEEP THIS POST AND COMMENTS ON SUPPORT, HELPING AND RESTORATION!!! We don't need political baloney right now. Period.
Note, I am primarily an Art Tutorial channel with some short videos of our local bears. So please consider that if you decide to subscribe from this video as you will probably get mostly art videos in the future.
I did put together a playlist for Helene, "Beginning", "During" and this video linked here: • Helene
During this devastating storm, I’ve captured some video footage of our immediate neighborhood and the impact of Helene on Patton Mountain in Asheville, North Carolina. While at the time, I thought our devastation was bad, it was only the day after I videoed this that I realized the impact that this tremendous storm had on our local community and towns. During the storm, we actually had Internet, then about 2 PM Friday we lost all connection to the outside world. The world became quite small going from country, state, town, community and ultimately neighborhood and families. At the end of it all, it’s all about the neighborhood and all of the neighbors pulling together. We have been truly blessed with some amazing people helping people and we are very aware that we are quite lucky compared to so many who have lost everything. I’m personally stunned by the devastation, places I’ve frequented now gone. It will be a long road.
If able and inclined, please donate to the American Red Cross to assist in people getting through this disaster.

Far fiercer. I agree. I'm at hwy 25/hwy 11, SC. My biggest trees are down on my property. My little 800 sq ft cabin was spared. Me and my pets took shelter underground in my shop and then got blocked in by trees. Neighbors heard me yelling the next day and got us out. No electricity. Charging my phone by car. I'm grateful to have water. Thanks for caring, to help others.

OMG a harrowing experience for you for sure thank goodness for neighbors once again. I have posts on Facebook where I am giving my neighbors credit for being angels who helped us extract a tree from our roof. We had a gigantic white oak probably more than 10 tons fall directly onto the corner of our roof, and we were managed to get it off ourselves earlier this week. What a freaking mess.

We came from Western NC, actually Bat Cave, and opened the Baybreeze Seafood Restaurant in Sandford, NC in 2000. We missed home, so we sold our share and came back and live in Hendersonville, NC. Our town is in Hendersonville. The owner of the Baybreeze Seafood Restaurant here was flooded badly by run off water from Patton Park. That creek is Brittain Creek which normally is ok, but flooded several businesses on hwy 25 in Hendersonville...Stay safe

The animals have no choice but to run, hide, and if they survive, think about what caused this suffering, and why did they have to suffer. How many lost their families, and will now have to battle through their lives as best they can ? May all, humans, animals, fishes, birds, and plant life, be blessed with the courage and strength of spirit, mind, and body, to live past this horror, and never be faced with another such for the rest of their lives. ❤❤

You reminded me of the aftermath of Katrina. Living in Baton Rouge, no electricity, hot as hell, windows open. All night helicopters rescuing survivors, bringing them to Baton Rouge hospitals, shelters, gymnasiums or morgues. All night long helicopters. Unbelievable damage from Helena. The saddest thing I heard, I know there are many tragedies there - a man videod the beginning of the storm, feeding his pigs, the rising water, his wife in sheer distress. Then they skipped to the aftermath stating they lost everything, even their lifestock. My heart sunk for the pigs. So helpless. Humans too were helpless.

Thank you, Nancy, I am typically a Art and bear nature channel, and the only reason why I shared any of this storm is because my subscribers knew I live in Asheville and they were asking how everything was going. I’m only sharing my experience because I do not want to feel like I’m exploiting anyone else’s which there is plenty of it. There are whole sections of our town that are wiped out and there are neighboring towns that are completely gone. It is a tragic, unexpected and, horrible circumstance that we’re going through, but it does bring out the best of people.

Very difficult to eat my dinner tonight. My friends were finally located today. I can’t stop the tears. Poor tree people! Praying for people & animals. RIP those who didn’t make it. Gone never forgotten! ❤️🙏🌹
Those who wasted our money should be held to the fire. Maybe executed for crimes against humanity! We are being killed at the hands of demons/fallen angels. They want the billions of dollars in resources in that area. Be real the people were in the way. My friends would not give up their land. Just like Maui they will destroy everything to take it. We must put a stop to weather manipulation. Since when do hurricanes reach the mountains. We better wake up damn fast. Before none of us are left. We are in the way. Look at us Indigenous/Indians. You are being removed just as we had been. They aren’t giving you reservations but graves. I pray humanity wakes up. Sending healing, love & light to all life! ❤️🙏🙏🌹

@@LouiseMcKayArt It is heartbreaking. I. The aftermath of Hurricane Fran, we had to empty our entire house in less than 8hrs because of flooding. Friends of my husband brought their enclosed trailers so we could take our furniture & other things. They even helped us pack up. I was pregnant with our youngest daughter at the time. It was another high risk pregnancy due to placenta previa. It didn’t help that I have Lupus, Sjogren’s disease, I’m legally blind. I have a small amount of light perception but it is limited to a few inches in front of me. My peripheral vision is severely limited too. We stayed with my late mil for a few months.
Later, she & her brother were out seeing the damage in nearby areas. They happened upon a house that had no damage other than some shingles &. The inside areas of the garage; the garage damage was only because there was no garage door. It was empty & on the market. We had been house hunting before & after my pregnancy became complicated. It took a couple months but we closed on the house mid November that year. The friends who let us use their trailers also helped us move into our new house by Thanksgiving, but not before they replaced all the flooring as a combination house warming & baby gift. It has been nearly thirty years ago. The most damage we’ve had from hurricanes since moving here has been lost shingles & the remaining of three Bradford Pear trees. Water has rose here from subsequent hurricanes. Though we’ve never had it anywhere near our home.
Over the years, we have been fortunate enough to loan our generators to friends & family. We only have two these days. We have a small one that we use if we’re a few days without power; the big generator is pulled out when we’re out of power for weeks to a month. At one time, we had several generators at one time that my husband used for his work. He ran his own company, so in the hurricane season, we were able to help others. So, these days we donate a case of water, lightly worn clothes, food stuffs, & others. I always felt blessed by our home. My mil & her brother weren’t out looking homes for sale. They stumbled onto it, which to me, means we were meant to be here. It is part of why we help people who have less, especially families. We’ve sent water & added a bit in donation for people here to get to the people who need it in the western part of the states.

We were Blessed with Life, helping each other, and fortunately yet unfortunately stressed related deaths (3-4) only.
      Everything gets Better With Time!!!
Wishing You and Everyone and Easy-going Recovery, Nurturing Care, Not Overdoing it, and hug your Loved One's... for this is what is priority and Appreciation For!!!

HI my name is Linda from (lower) Michigan . Thank you for your video. It blows my away to see what happen to your road.
I want you to know that I have been keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers continually throughout my day!!
I can't imaging the heartache and devastation you all are going through! I've seen videos from people telling about their lose of family some right before their eyes the water took them away!
And others...,so many others everything they had is gone! And the animals I always think about and feel so heartbroken knowing they suffer too!
I'm not very good at expressing my thoughts and feelings but I want you to know I will not forget to pray for you and all those effected by the Hurricane. It's on my mind all day and I just needed to tell someone!! 💫 "HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISE" 💫 🙏

Thank you so much your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated by Myself and I will definitely share with my neighbors and the community. I realize as bad as it looks with the trees, it is still absolutely beautiful, and I do humbly realize that so many people have it so much worse, everything with all the water we had in this area, whole town got flooded over and homes gone. The worst we suffered was a tree on our roof, but we have our Health, we have a generator and we have well water. We are so grateful despite this challenging situation.🙏🏻🧡🧡🙏🏻

Last drone in at landfall showed 158mph winds= CAT 5. Two large, blocking systems to the east and west acted like pin ball bumpers with an open zone right up between them, where it moved through like a freight train. Years worth of rain in some areas because the Gulf waters were hitting record heat - hot water is hurricane 'juice'.
And this was bigger than Katrina by a 100 miles
Take care and be safe. I hope the bears are ok.

Ya know, this coincides with our experience, winds primarily started coming in from the east, and then after while, it was almost swirling with a wicked wicked gust, and eventually it came in from the south and that’s when one of our trees came down under our house. Tons of rain 2 days leading up which definitely juiced up the ground, hmm

I understand. This is just our experience from the mountain as mild as it actually is by comparison to some. At the time we had no idea what was going on around us.
