Two main points I got from this video. 1: Seems like a fair amount of a hassle getting all the permits and paperwork in line to haul to Alaska and 2: Better make darn sure the load rates are good enough to cover all these extra fees. Thank you for the video. I had no idea it was this involved to haul to Alaska.

Yeah it’s a process for sure! Long one just to get any info or a business number to transport through. And yes rates need to be double or triple what’s normal down here because 99% of the time you dead head back. Glad it helped

Not enough. But it’s my first direct customer and first load with them so I’ll get higher rates as the relationship builds

Ok wasn't sure bc I'm guessing it would be importing cars from America to cananda just to go back to the US when getting to alaska

@@honda1396 yeah any freight through Canada needs to be bonded and as a non-CDL guy you’ll have to get the permits. Only difference would be prices depending on invoices on the cars. Could be more or less. So if it’s dealership cars the dealership should give you all the titles and invoices on them. If it’s private make sure you get all the documentation for the cars and an invoice written up on what the cars cost. That’s how they determine the bond cost

I’m not in your business so don’t beat me up too bad but is it really worth that trip?

If you can get the rate you need then yes it’s worth it. But put that aside, there are a lot of reasons not to do it but It’s a fun run, so if anyone is looking to check Alaska off their list this is a great way to do it and to get paid while doing it
