Everything looks amazing Leighann, I still haven’t had a wedding at 42.....😔. My parents offered me and my ex-husband a house, or a big wedding (I was 27 at this time). We chose the house, got married at a court house with our newborn baby girl Jadyn, and I’m glad we did because I ended up wanting a divorce less than two years later (verbal and emotional abuse started after the actual marriage began, not good). Anyways, I’m currently engaged to an amazing man who I have a 6 year old daughter with, Berlyn (my first daughter is currently 15!!!). I wasn’t in a hurry to marry again, as you can see. But we finally picked a date, 02/22/2020, and we are having it at my parents estate on two acres of orange groves. I’m planning the entire thing myself, so wish me luck, 😉.

Good luck, planning can be stressful but getting to do it yourself will make it so special! I planned mine completely by myself with my mom's help and I wouldnt change that. You have a decent amount of time so when you need a break, take one! You can do it!!

I love that Grant chose You’ll Be In My Heart for his dance with his mom. My oldest son, Michael, and I danced to that song at my wedding to my husband, who ended up adopting Michael a year after we were married. Michael and I used to watch Tarzan together when he was a little guy and every time that song came on in the movie he crawled into my lap and snuggled me while I sang it to him. It means tons to us. And it made me so happy to see it included in your special day.

You should let the tailor know that it BROKE during the wedding. And the bridal shop since they recommended it. They should at least know that it was poorly done and that it didn't last!! Not necessarily in a rude way, but they need to know this job was done poorly. Maybe just an email.
You saved me from NFL Sunday football! I put my headphones on and gave my fiancé two thumbs up, I’m ready for this 48min vid👍👍 I absolutely LOVE and cannot express how much I appreciate this video, literally brought me to tears a few times. This makes me so excited for my wedding in seven months. Thank you so much Leighann! You are the greatest!😄

What a beautiful wedding! You made such a gorgeous bride!
Our “plan A” wedding totally imploded about 60 days before the wedding. We sent out 90 invitations 7 months before (I have family that lives 17 hours away so we wanted to give them plenty of time) and only 12 rsvps came back before the deadline the caterer needed!!! It was awful people were so inconsiderate! I spent weeks chasing people down and had every wishy-washy “I’m not sure I can make it” excuse.
So we scrapped our very expensive wedding, had a little backyard thing with immediate family and best friends, and rented a firehall and just said “here’s what we’re doing now, come or don’t” lol. The day of my wedding I still didn’t know how many people were coming to the reception, we ended up with 46. It ended up being great thank goodness, we have some really amazing friends who helped us pull it off! If I could do it again we probably would have just eloped though haha
21 years later, I still talk about my wedding with the same enthusiasm. That's the sign of a great wedding. I wouldn't do anything different, I loved every moment. I wish I could sit with you and show you my wedding album and relive it all again!! We will be celebrating 21 years on October 11th, and I still get giddy when I describe my wedding!! This video took me back to those moments. Xoxo

Believe it or not, my strap also broke during a hug at the reception. My grandmother had insisted that I take one of those sewing kits from a hotel visit and give to my maid of honor. I rolled my eyes at her, but man did that save the night! She still reminds me of that to this day and she's almost 90. A great lesson in listening to the elders! Beautiful wedding!! Congrats!

This was so amazing! Girl...the music. I got married in 2001...ya know...before iPods and all that jazz. I picked EVERY. SINGLE. SONG. I put them on three mix tapes using my father in law's CD/tape player. Put a CD in, record one song, stop tape, repeat. It took me weeks. But it's so worth it!

I relate to this on SO MANY LEVELS. Planning, silly wedding "rules", skipping traditional wedding activities, only *almost* crying as you began walking down the aisle. I am so so excited to see the video once it finishes!!

So good! I'm planning mine for June next year, I'll definitely be revisiting this for tips. My mom used to do some light wedding coordinating at our church, and she always said that three things will "go wrong" on your wedding day. They can be anything from a missing button on the Best Man's shirt, to spilling tea on your robe while getting ready. Count them down, and when you get to three, you can relax. It's really sweet and comforting. ETA: Thank you for taking the time to film and edit this!

Leigh Ann- I have all the things from a fellow newlywed to you!!! 1. My dress got ripped, pulled on and beer spilled on it. But I took the same stance as you and you are not alone! 2. Same on the attention thing. The thing people don't understand is how nerve wracking it is to be in your own wedding until you do it. And the number of people matter too. 3. We struggled to remember our ceremony but I asked our pastor for the written out ceremony to have all the amazing words as reminder. It was a great decision to ask for them and you should too!

My wedding date, 02/22/2020. I want to know everyone’s opinion on here, do you think it’s acceptable if I just do really yummy appetizers and a full bar, instead of doing a sit down dinner?? Sitting down for dinner has never been my favorite part of weddings, so I thought we could just go into the reception with appetizers (a lot of them, like enough so people can fill up) and drinks, and music right away. Just straight into the party part. We are doing a relatively smaller wedding on my parents estate with orange groves, so I thought it would be kinda cool and also less to worry about. What do y’all think??
I think that's a great idea! At the end of the day you've always got to remember that it's your wedding and you've got to do what feels right for you and your fiance 💙

In my country we usually do that. Waiters will pass appetizers, there is a dessert table and cheese table. I think it’s more fun than having a dinner. And since we party hard we usually serve breakfast lol. I say go for it!
I think that’s a great idea! I think maybe if you have a place for people to write any food allergies etc. On the rsvp that would help you order the right amounts of everything so everyone can eat a full meals worth of apps.

I got married July 26 in a courthouse wedding. Your wedding day looked absolutely beautiful and you made a gorgeous bride!! I would've loved having a wedding like that in some ways but my anxiety of being the center of attention and public speaking wouldn't allow it. So we only had the marriage officer with our two witnesses there. Our families were initially upset but they got over it. The wedding is about what YOU want ultimately, contrary to other people's beliefs sometimes. I'm so happy for you and grant. Having these memories to treasure and share with your kids someday will be so worth it. 💛
My best friend lives in Houston and the Dunlavy is my favorite restaurant EVER cause I love chandeliers and their food is so amazing too! 😻

Thank you for sharing your special day with us. My youngest son just got married this past Saturday and we also had a wedding dress disaster, the thursday before the wedding, the bride decided she needed to try her dress on one more time, as she plays professional softball, is still in college, she had been "stress eating" , so, you guessed it, 2 days before the wedding she discovered her dress was too small! Lol. But thankfully she was able to bring it to her seamstress and get the side seams let out. Thank God there was enough seam to let out! In the end, all was well and they had a beautiful wedding with almost 300 guest. Congratulations on your wedding, it was beautiful.

Haha I bought mine at Unbridaled, I’m pretty sure I was in the exact same dressing area you were in the video 😂 but haven’t started alterations yet and you’re freakin me out! I cannot believe the dress strap failed you DURING THE RECEPTION! 🙈 We also looked at the Dunlavy as a venue- it is so beautiful there, and your pictures are gorgeous! I love that you had a venue full of windows. We got married in Albuquerque (hometown woohoo) at the courthouse (right after 9-11 hubs was active duty AF) and I really thought we would just do a rush job signing in a back room but the judge took us out to the "atrium"ish area on an upper floor that looked out on front of the building that's all windows and we could see the beautiful Sandia mountains. Then for our wedding we had the ceremony and reception (same judge) at the new (at that time) Balloon Fiesta Park golf club house/ event space and before the sun set we could see the mountains again in the background, out the floor to ceiling windows. I think taking advantage and bring the beautiful outdoor scenery is so nice, all of the views and none of the heat or bugs. Plus I bet it really complimented your floral aesthetic with the greenery.
Hailey Paige is my FAVORITE bridal designer ever ! Her stuff is gorgeous , Iv been following her for years & I could tell that was the designer the second I saw ur wedding pictures ! So beautiful ! This was a really helpful video ❤️❤️❤️
Bridal portraits may be a southern thing? I’m from North Carolina and had bridal portraits, and everyone I know who had a big wedding had bridal portraits! Mine were done outside, but a lot of people (especially 10+ years ago) had them done at studios.
Amy Jay We have bridal portraits here in S.C. too.
A lot of people do bridals in Utah too. Maybe it's more of a traditional area thing.

I'm from Indiana and now live in South Carolina and had never heard of bridal portraits until I moved to the south.

That car was so hard to find because the '55 is THE Bel-Air. People that own those and have them fully restored and beautiful like that don't want to rent them out to randoms 😂 so you're super lucky you found that company.

I totally get you. I wasn't nervous or scared about getting married. I was telling my bridesmaids I'm nervous like I am on a job interview. It was more about not messing up at the alter. LOL. Turned out our priest ended up doing that by accidentally telling my husband to repeat "I Gabe, take you Brittany, to be my husband." And my husband just screams loudly "To be my WIFE!" It was so funny. Everyone laughed.
Everything sounds amazing and you look stunning. I've never heard of getting separate bridal picture but I like the idea of not doing them the day of. I'm from Pittsburgh and here, a cookie table/room is a big deal. Lol If you go to a weeding in this city and there aren't cookies, you know the persons not from here.
Music def makes or breaks a wedding. I've 41 and I've been to quite a few of them in my days. Nothing worse than terrible music or too much of the same type, and an empty dance floor.
So glad to finally see this video, especially after seeing all your vlogs on the planning process! Glad the dress disaster turned out (mostly) ok, but I do wish we got to see photos of those holes!! Your day looked magical and I am so so happy for you and Grant!!
