@@dendj55 Wow. Surprisingly good. You were right about the slickness. I wasn't too crazy about the scent out of the tub, but once added with water and lathered, the scent definitely opens up. Right after the first shave I ordered a tub of Mandate from Heaven. Bonus points for the packaging! I'm curious if anyone has tried the aftershaves yet.
Murphy & McNeil is my favorite shaving soap manufacturer. Their Ouroboros is my favorite scent so far. I also have the Bad Mor and like it a lot as well. Looking forward to buying the Trinity and some others in the future.
I bought something from Murphy and McNeil on their ebay store. They sent me two . 5oz samples of Kells and Green Man. The Green man's a Fougere and one of the best I've smelled 😍👍💈💈💈
This soap is absolutely Amazing. I have never had a soap that's so smooth it's like silk when I face lather. Ruds, if you do a 2018 overall review I would vote Murphy&McNeil "Rookie of the Year! Thanks for turning me on to these guys, cuz I like everything about the shave I just had.
Great video, highlighting products that I'd not yet heard of. The scent description alone is enough for me to want to purchase it! The 94 score is truly impressive for first time out. Also, loving that Turn n Shave brush you used!

Great to see Murphy & McNeil getting quite a bit of attention lately. I like that they sell used products and their customer service is excellent. Soap base is very good and am looking forward to trying their Duck Fat base as well.
In my experience with them the customer service ranks with the best out there. Prompt order processing, quick communication and responsiveness to further inquiries.

I have been using their soaps since your review and really like their amazing Triskele (barbershop) soap and their Crann Bethdah (verbena+) soap. I can’t wait to try their other offerings and would not have heard of them but for your review, so thank you!

Great shave Ruds! My only disagreement with you is the low structure part but the water hardness will affect the volume and this is probably why I do get more volume. For the first offering from this artisan, the performance is surprising. Well done to Murphy and McNeil!
Nice to see that you did a review on this one. It was first brought to my attention by Yost to coast and the labeling alone caught my attention immediately. I know you can't judge the contents on that aspect alone, but I like to think that there's a good chance the same amount of quality/effort is put into the product as well. The review I watched left me feeling as if there was much more to offer, so I pulled the trigger and now I have a tub of 'Mandate of heaven' waiting for pick up. :)

Based on your score, that’s it’s Aventus (I don’t own a dupe but I love the scent), and the art, I’ll have to break my Talbot only rule for the year.
your shave score here is 94, but in your doc file its 95, have you updated the score after reconsideration or have they introduced new base which is tad better?

Different bases. 94 is tallow only, 95 is tallow and duck fat.
