It has been a long time for me, over 40 years . But when i was in the marines we use to joke about what future marines would look like, their equipment, weapons, and so on. And damn if we were pretty damn spot on about it. I don't see any jet packs yet, so i quess we were a little off on that one.. 0311...
Literally the definition of uncomplicated shit made complicated. I can't believe I have to watch a damn youtube video to figure out how to assemble this...
Give it another 10 years and our Marines will be full enclosed in ceramic as if they're medieval knights. Who gives a shit if it weighs 120 pounds, right?
is the tac pro gear commercial modular tactical vest anything like this vest? looking for a plate carrier vest with a lot of molly webbing any suggestions ?
Ok so I picked up a IMTV for a hell of a deal, only catch is it came without the cummerbund. I have been looking for it everywhere and I cant seem to find a replacement. Can anyone tell me if the MTV (previous version) cummerbund will work? Thanks !
@fyte4luv808 Thanks for the Info, I will take good care of my gear anyway (You know, cause I don't want it failing in the middle of a battle hehehe) but is there any way to pay for it imediatly after it brakes? like if someone shoots your gun or something? And does the same applie to Magezines? Do I have to pocket each one I use because I see many marines drop theirs when I'm watching the news.
@88Tomm88 Dragon skin is a good armor but it has some drawbacks that can be lethal. Because of the overlapping scale system in use, even though it offers more coverage and monuverability, because of that system the scales must be thin so it can be easy to penetrate in some cases. The plate system currently in use, although does not have full coverage it has proven to save lives, and block high powered rounds. The Dragon skin may not be able to stand against and AK round. Still good but debateble
i actually got the pc not this gear bomb of a plate carrier. On a side note who ever has a friend help put on your gear. No one takes that much time to ever put on a plate carrier.
Equally impressive is how in just 35 years we went from K-Pots only rated to stop medium-powered pistol rounds to ECHs that effectively protect against rifle rounds.
Is the gear(infantry) USMC issues serviceable and protectable I wanna join the army but marines as well cause of thier training, discipline, repuatation.I know the army is well-trained,greatly equipped as well but Im confused
ok keep wishing that because they still need to do a shit ton more improvements with that vest you should just start doing what s few of my recon buddies do use a low profile carrier with plates and armor then use either a LBT or eagle industries plate carrier with ESAPI plates n it as well its light than a full armor dragon skin and it has more ballistic protection
@@arthurmorgan6087 man is this an old comment lol. A lot has changed these last 8 years. I’m still in. And honestly I wouldn’t trade the experiences I had for anything. I’ve been all over the world, from Iraq to Korea. It’s been hard at times but I’d say it’s worth it.
@milkduds1001 nice dude im joining the delayed entree program in the summer to get in shape. Just been lifting weights, I need to get my stamina up though.
@WhiteBoyNJ Nice, hope it goes well for you. Incase you didn't know make sure one of the most important things you do is eat every 3 hours, small snacks like apples or bananas, and your major 3 meals but make sure your diet is balanced. A protien diet gives you alot of strength but little stamina, but if it's balanced with good carbs, vitamins, and protien than it gives you good stamina. Just incase you didn't know, and Semper Fi future Brother In Arms.
@AlexSDU Not entirely sure but I think it was a system desighned in the middle east. Yib Yab is a middle eastern name, but on both accounts I am not 100 percent sure.
It all depends. If you want the benifits of the Army, but the training of the Marines then go for Army Rangers. They are basicly well trained infintry men, probably better then the Marines. What the Marines use are the same thing the Army uses, with slight variations. No matter what you'll be protected. Although there is the whole debate that one side is better then the other, they really are just the same thing. There is little seperating these 2 branches. It all comes down to opinion.
@@TheSecurityCamChannel After wearing the M69 fragmentation vest, the PASGT vest, the IMTV in this video, and the Gen 3 plate carrier, I can confirm that body armor is at, if not damn near close to, its peak.
No cause the army iotv has more molle weebing, and padded on the inside not saying the marine's are bad theres look good, durable, comforable and strong it's not so much the vest itself it's the plates that save you and the vest stops shrapnel, matter, and 9mm bullets
I'll tell you this much, if you want disaplin then the Marines are where its at. They are more disaplined and get yelled at the most during boot camp. The Army will still yell at you but not like the Marines will.
honestly, they need to stop trying to make better and better flaks for us. in afghanistan we never wore our mtv's and have have no idea what conway was thinking when he issued those things to us. the sapi carrier works, and you can actually move in it and Marines like it. stop spending money that we dont have. the standard issued flak should be the Scalable plate carrier.
My complaint is not with this piece of equipment. It is due to the horrible acting job the guy at the 15 minute mark did. I mean pay a real actor...this amateur makes me sick!!

Thanks for this video. It'll helped me much better than the manual. Thing looks like it can be a Transformer.
That thing looks so nice.
i like how the plates say to handle with care hahahaha

Body armor has been in the marine corps since Korea bro
Please make more videos of other equipment like the ILBE or stuff like that! just make more!!!
Thank god for that groin protector.
One word: KISS
Saved me from an ass chewing haha. RAH!
shouldn't the issue facility check the ESAPI's before they are issued?
idk fgt whaddup well... you know, the marines get shit.
So... What if the Cummerbund adapter is _not_ properly installed in the cummerbund tray?
looks badass. seems like it would be a little difficult to put on in a hurry though

I never knew that there was so much you have to do for a vest.
I suggested shoulder pieces I on it just to give that Samurai look
@fyte4luv808 that sounds kind of shitty, do you pay it throughout your carear or does it have to be when you retire?

Fuck I put my mag pouches on the wrong side... god bless this video
@iNF4mOuSxMiKE It's good protection but pain because it keeps flapping
the final test, standing in front of a firing squad!
@milkduds1001 thanks for the tip bro.
Look at it. How much do you weigh?
If you're shot in the chest and your plate breaks and have bleeding under the armor how would you get it off fast enough to save the soldier?
it has a cable tha brake the vest but use it in an ermergency because is hell to put it back
The elastic bands on the side sapi should be sewn in everywhere but one side of the top. Not velcro between velcro on both ends of two elastic straps!
I stand corrected it is sewn in on one side. But it shouldn't be velcro on the bottom side, just sew it to be like a hammock

Amen. These youngsters don't know how easy they have it not having to deal with those crappy Viet Nam-era flak jackets.
