Tampa Bay is a beach in Mecca. When you’re in downtown Tampa, you’re just about a half-hour drive away from not one, not two, but amazingly over a dozen beautiful beaches. With so many choices to sift through, you might find yourself a bit overwhelmed. But fret not, because we’ve compiled a list of the 7 best beaches in the Tampa Bay area.
All of Tampa’s beaches feature white sand and crystal-clear turquoise-tinted waters. The climate in this region of Florida is famous for being very mild and warm year-round. With over 240 sunny days a year on average, the weather shouldn’t give you any trouble. But even if you do happen to visit during the rainy season, there is an abundance of indoor attractions in the surrounding area that can help flesh out your trip.
Tampa is famous for its theme parks, top-notch accommodations, and thriving food scene, but all of that is just the icing on the cake, as the beaches in and around Tampa are nothing short of world-class. Just a short drive away from the city center, you’ll find spots like St. Pete’s Beach, Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks, and Fort Desoto Park.
Planning a day at any of these beaches is usually quite painless as parking isn’t difficult to find and access to the water is easy. Plus, since Tampa is such a foodie city, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a decent spot to snag some takeout to take back to your beach chair. If you’re planning a sun-drenched vacation either with your family or significant other, this is one video you won’t want to miss.

Unfortunately, Beach Market is no longer located at Coquina Beach in Bradenton. They moved south to a beach in Venice on Fridays due to Manatee County not renewing the contract.

Very few crocs in FL. Most are alligators and very rarely do they in salt water.

The water is at least blue down south but traffic and congestion is definitely worse. My wife and I were born and raised in Boca and the high rises never benefit traffic. Both have their good and bad.

    Are they pet friendly? 😀

Very few pet friendly beaches in Tampa. A good indicator (other than signs) is lack of them or a pet station. So many of us love dogs there is no way you see 100 people in one place and there is no dog. ;-(
