Anything with EVH stripes or the Rush starman and I’m helpless. 💸💸💸 I amazingly got to go on a golf trip with Alex Lifeson and told him as much, to which he laughed and thanked me. So now every time they put out something new with the starman on it I text him and say “got me again dammit!” Recently it’s been beer and mustard! 🤣

BOSS is killing it since the 80's. I'm Boss user after all my guitar journey (not actually a career), since the beggining, back in 1987 (what a date). EQ, Chorus, delay, different pedalboards. Always great sounding gear, and, IMPORTANT, very easy to use.
That intro was marvelously STUPENDOUS! The composition, timing and very tasteful restrained tapping were just musical perfection. Plus it was truly original in style even while being bluesy still. I had to listen to it a few times over at least to let it all sink in. At the same time you also managed to make the effect's strengths shine the whole time. Subscribed for sure!
Love your videos - the gear info is great, but mainly watch to get inspired by your playing! Paul Gilbert would be proud of those 'guitar faces' as well. Nice work bro!

Yes Eddie played his original guitar through an old beat up Marshall. Flat out of course with no effects. The band was very tight as they played covers regularly at a club on Sunset Boulevard.

Would you be up for doing a vid that dives specifically into the purpose of the “delay phase” and “feedback phase” functions, why and when you’d wanna utilize them, how to implement them usefully, etc? I recently got and SDE-3000D, and I love it. But those features are the most elusive.

Super cool, but I'm trying to understand the dry output for W/D/W and how I could or if I could use it. If I were to put this in a stereo effects loop with a chorus before it, what is coming out of the dry output? I would think whatever you place before it would still affect the dry output signal, right? I mean it's nice that Boss included the option, but typically I how I would set this up is just to hook it up in my stereo effects chain between the preamp and power amp, and run a separate dry signal from my line mixer to a separate power amp. I'd be curious to see how you would hook this up.

@@BigMateo24 Unfortunately the Free The Tone Flight Time sounds nothing like my tc 2290 digital delay. Black Country Customs "The Difference" is much closer but still not there. Modern recreations... hmm... none of em sound very good compared to originals. Strymon does it best, taking inspiration from the old gear and making something new with a completely unique sound of its own.

Leon, how are you turning on DDL1 and DDL2 at the same time? When I click DDL1, DDL2 turns off and the A1 memory bank turns on. When I click DDL2, DDL1 turns off and the A2 memory bank turns on. Banging my head into the wall trying to figure out if there is some setting I am missing, here.
Wow! Great sounding delay! SDE3000 is of course legendary and very cool that they released this as a pedal! My BOSS Tube Amp Expander has the 3000 algorithm in there and it’s so lush sounding. I just use that when I play live - I never feel the need for a delay pedal. Question - what are the names of the tracks you’re playing at 13:04 and 14:04? Have a great day dude!
How extremely bright are the blue lights and letters on that thing? I had to put a light dimming strip on my Axe-FX III's logo because it hurt to look at.

Can you operate the boss SDE-3000 EVH from a separate pedal switcher/looper? Essential set DDL1 for Cathedral and DDL2 for the other EVH presets and place the unit in a rack? I have a custom pedal looper with 2 separate ins and outputs, one side has 2 channels with ins and outs for each and the other has 4 channel ins and outs, very similar to Eddie’s foot switch.
would I get good results for recording as follows. guitar > amp modeler > SDE 300 EVH stereo out > 2 ch stereo input , I dont have way to run 3 inputs into my protools Le rig.

I bought 2 of the SDE's back in the 80s. Never will forget the good tones I made with them with my Stratocaster and Fender Concert amp.
