This is a case of BEFORE ....and AFTER....she was asked the question, why she married him...,at that time he wasn't a serial killer. Remember she has regrets now that she didn't shoot him so that he died
As cruel and inhuman as he is, if not for that motorcycle accident that caused him head injury, this won't have happen. Head trauma could change a person's personality.
I knew a guy whose behavior and character completely changed after severe head injury. He was on of my superior officers while I was in the army. He did not became violent though, quite the opposite. He was laughing often and sometimes speaking nonsense. Of course, he did not work very long afterwards. Unfortunetaly, it seems head injuries can go other way.
Amazingly strong woman! Glad she's a police officer, she has the instincts for police work. I used to publish an underground music magazine in the 90s. Somehow, Bobby Joe Long got a copy of one, who knows how, I live in California. He wrote to me from death row. He wrote this 20+ page letter. It's the most twisted thing I've ever read. It was all about trying to manipulate me, it was really bizarre. I never wrote him back, of course. But I did keep the letter.
What an extremely strong person Lisa is to survive such a traumatic ordeal. She outsmarted that man and probably saved more women from being murdered. Nothing can stand in your way now Lisa. Your a hero.
It’s crazy to me how long these horrible people live on “death row”. When you have a mount of evidence, why are we waiting decades to actually put these people down?? That lady was 17 when she was attacked. AND HE’S STILL ALIVE ON DEATH ROW😡
You said it! I completely agree with this. Why do we wait years and years for the victims to see justice come to fruition on these monsters. I can understand waiting for like 1-3 years, in case that person is innocent. Then they have a chance to get aquited, but 10 + years? WTH. Tall about waste of space and tax money. Plus, it gives the serial killer a chance to talk to other inmates only serving shorter sentences, horrible ideologies! They can still commit more crimes, try to escape, they can still do evil!!! There should be a 5 year time limit. Period.
Wow how times have really changed. No parent would ever let their 17 year old daughter ride a bike home at 2:00am. At least I wouldn’t. Too many creeps out there. Thank god she was wise enough to get away from this guy alive.
@@CC-watches I'm aware of that. It was just a question. One that people would naturally ask in response to the ex-wife's story. The question is about survivors guilt, which is common in cases like this. Knowing Melissa's back story, I seriously doubt she'd ask a question of Cindy, who was also his victim, that implies Cindy is somehow at fault.
Good girl! "I manipulated him." You sure did. A great job. Not only your wit and brevity did save you but also many other women's lives that might have been taken away.
In my opinion, whether a head injury, not enough hugs as a kid, too many computer games or even if a pervert priest had shoved his gin pickled tounge down his throat there's no excuse
If not for that head injury it seems there is a good chance that none of this would have happened- brain injuries can be really unpredictable in their effects, though even with this factor he made a lot of conscious decisions to do terrible things.
By the way, Long was born with an extra X chromosome, also known as 47,XXY, a specific variant of Klinefelter syndrome. I've heard it's common for them to become criminals.
That accident damaged his brain. Sad. It is true if she had killed him, 10 women would be alive, but the prosecutor probably would have charged her with murder instead of something far less, or self defense laws. The self defense laws are definitely in order sometimes. If someone is that deadly, and you kill them, you protect the future of your kids and other women. Prosecutors do not get that, and if one ever does, it will be a woman that has been there.

“She chose another way to get rid of him…..she divorced him “
😂😂
As cruel and inhuman as he is, if not for that motorcycle accident that caused him head injury, this won't have happen. Head trauma could change a person's personality.
LISA IS A VERY VERY STRONG LADY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVE. REMARKABLE LADY❤❤❤
Wow this woman is beyond strong! I got chills listening to her! The direction her life took is a miracle.
Lisa is a super hero, what a story. its so crazy, A head injury is often present in the case of so many serial killers!..
But she would be in prison for killing him. Also she had no idea what the future holds. She needed to save herself and her children ♥️
Thankful two woman was able to survive, heartbroken that those other woman couldn’t speak today or live life 🥺💔
Amazingly strong woman!
Can I read it?
What an extremely strong person Lisa is to survive such a traumatic ordeal. She outsmarted that man and probably saved more women from being murdered. Nothing can stand in your way now Lisa. Your a hero.
This woman shows that you don't have to be a victim without being a vigilante or losing your mind.
Damn when she said I became a sheriff so no one can hurt me again on my watch I felt that
Absolutely incredible story and thank you for sharing it with us TRUE CRIME DAILY.
Lisa is so inspiring. Well done ~
Period.
And, if that person admits to the crimes of being a serial killer, then just do it right away! It's infuriating. Same with pedophiles.
I wonder if this guy killed my mother she was found raped and beaten and hug back in 1977 .I am now 46 and i really want to know who killed her .
Can't believe how smart Lisa is ❤️
3:41 true those women would probably be alive but you would be in jail. You did the right thing.
Wow how times have really changed. No parent would ever let their 17 year old daughter ride a bike home at 2:00am. At least I wouldn’t. Too many creeps out there. Thank god she was wise enough to get away from this guy alive.
There's a movie about this! Such a sad story. Smh
Disgusting that you low key blame the ex wife
How did you get that impression?
@@sammygirl6910 the narrator raises the consideration that if she had shot him, none of the murders would have occurred.
Wow, what strength! Both of these women. 🌹
The host is a younger version of the ex-wife being interviewed. Wow!✌🏾
Good girl! "I manipulated him." You sure did. A great job. Not only your wit and brevity did save you but also many other women's lives that might have been taken away.
Lisa is the definition of a role model for young women! God bless her and keep her🙏🏼
I honestly didn’t know this guy until the lifetime movie Believe Me: Lisa McVey. 😮
Such a brilliant lady!
Wow she is so brave! I can't believe she escaped thats really good man!
In my opinion, whether a head injury, not enough hugs as a kid, too many computer games or even if a pervert priest had shoved his gin pickled tounge down his throat there's no excuse
Lisa you are an amazing woman & an inspiration to so many. Bless you
If not for that head injury it seems there is a good chance that none of this would have happened- brain injuries can be really unpredictable in their effects, though even with this factor he made a lot of conscious decisions to do terrible things.
I love what Lisa did with her life. What a strong lady
It is not Cindy's fault that her evil ex-husband chose to murder ten other women. She should focus on the one life whom she indirectly helped to save.
"he suffered a head injury" - always a major red flag for serial killers ❗
They have to more research on that. It’s crazy how much hitting your head can effect you long term
I had a head injury and fainted. I never killed anyone🤭
Wow..Lisa is an amazing strong woman..God bless her 🙏
Lisa is an amazing woman .

You should be proud Lisa! You are incredible!!!!!
I remember seeing this case on forensic files. Really chilling.
Sooo happy Lisa is alive and doing what she's doing! Proud of you!
By the way, Long was born with an extra X chromosome, also known as 47,XXY, a specific variant of Klinefelter syndrome. I've heard it's common for them to become criminals.
Interesting to know
Good survivalist instincts there. Sad she and those other women had to be subject this bastards heinous acts.
Lisa is a brave and amazing woman! ❤🙏
The girl who survives, Lisa, is an amazing person. So young, but so smart.
Wow Lisa, you're amazing! What an awesome story. God Bless you 💞💞
RIP to all his victims! His ex wife and Lisa are extremely strong women!
