    I considered commercial diving for a new career about 2 weeks ago and came across your videos. After watching all of them I really appreciate the details and all the information in them about schooling and jobs and everything else that goes into getting started as a commercial diver. Thank you!
    Looking forward to diving school.

    First, love the updates, going to dive school this August. Have you thought about offshore, and if so why didn’t you pick it ?

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I actually didn’t give much thought to going offshore only because I have a family and I knew it would be hard if I was always gone. That’s why I chose inland because I could come home everyday.

    What advice would you have before going into CDA I’m from canton ohio I’m an advanced open water scuba diver with PADI but plan to have my masters before this July when I go into CDA I’ve been scuba diving for two years and I’ve been a welder in high school for two years along with having a welding job and construction experience I feel not so nervous about the dangers of commercial diving but more so is it worth my money to leave my life in Ohio behind to come and do this for a great pay would you happen to know a good stopping point as in how long should I work in this field and is it as bad as they say when you can’t see your family and friends it’s my understanding that you will not be able to see them as often but do you get to see them at least enough for them to be apart of your life? these are some of my concerns I have been binging your videos to get a better understanding what I’m getting into and what I’ve seen so far has helped a lot I like the content and effort that you put into the videos as it must of been hard to find time to make them during school.

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like you are set going into CDA when it comes to the diving/welding/construction experience. In that case, my only advice before going is to bring your favorite tools for example, if you have your own dive computer, or welding hood, etc. They have equipment there, but when I was there I wished I had bring some of my own stuff that I was use to using.
      Also, The diving world is very diverse when it comes to the type of diving you do. For example, my job is completely different from offshore diving. Offshore, you might not see your family and friends for months, but inland, I go home every night. You just have to find the location and company the works best for you. Keep in mind, that if it's more money that you're chasing, there tends to be more sacrificing involved like being away from family.
      Lastly, I'm glad my videos are helping you. That's what I made them for, because I couldn't find anything like it when i was doing research for school. It was hard to find time for it but I knew I had to make a complete set for it to describe what its actually like in school and not just a bunch of clips edited together like other videos. But yeah man good luck in school!

      @morris_6027 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice I appreciate it my only other question is what are the main things I should be looking at when I’m doing my research on diving jobs?
