    How do you equalize in that helmet? Young man with a great career ahead of him! Good Luck your a good diver I know it. :D I hope you go to great places and experience the world. Make good money and get great skills. Take the right vitamins and stay healthy I hear all those decompressions do some body stresses after time. No alcohol at all while working!! Do you get dehydrated breathing the dry air pumped down? Is it a heliox for the deep ones?

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There is a nose block inside the helmet that you use to push up against your nose to equalize. Thank you Joe will do. No, I don’t get dehydrated, it’s just like breathing normal air on the surface. We don’t use heliox at the school because helium is too expensive, it would probably come out of our tuition lol. But, I have heard they turn on the helium after 100 or so feet in off shore diving.

    How cold does it feel at 165ft? Does the black or the void ever make you uneasy or nervous, not from creatures or anything, just being there

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Good question. For the dives to 165 FT we used a hot water hose system so we were kept pretty warm and toasty for the whole dive. Also, the darkness wasn't bad at all, it was actually pretty cool in the bell and we had lights our lights too.

    OK, respectfuly and firstly, where is the divers bail out function test, non return valve check and the pillar to first stage leak check?
    Secondly, why is the diver not varifying every thing for him self?
    Note well, this is not a bell dive. It can not even be called a bell bounce dive.

    I WOULDNT WAKE HIM UP, I WOULD FREAK OUT I WAS AWOKEN 165 UNDERWATER, HE MIGHT START PULLING AT HIS GEAR IN A PANIC ATTACK,,,DUDE U R A CHAMP! I would try to help him begin ascent.....WHAT A PICKLE!

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's true he could have started to panic, but he just needed to look around and realize where he was. In our rescue training they taught us how to clam down a panicked diver if that should happen.

      @@omargonzales9344 There’s two different suits. One is a dry suit that doesn’t let any water in. The other type of suit is what we used on this dive, and is called a hot water suit that has a connection for a hot water hose and distributes hot water throughout the suit.

    if he didnt wake up and you had to do an emergency ascent, whats the procedure for 165ft?

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would do a safe emergency accent to the surface, once on surface, one of the instructors, who is DMT certified, would assess why he is unconscious and administer cpr if necessary, which would most likely have to take place inside the hyperbaric chamber to allow his body to decompress while we are taking care of him. We would also be calling 911 to get emergency services on their way.

    • @kevinmcgrath3591
      @kevinmcgrath3591 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlexKralDiving but you can only ascend at a limited rate to avoid the bends, right? so an emergency ascent can only be so fast. would you burst for the surface and recompress asap with a medic?

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kevinmcgrath3591 Yes, you don’t want to ascend faster than 30 fpm which is about how fast the diving bell winch will go. Decompression can be done on surface with a certified DMT until EMTs arrive.

    • @kevinmcgrath3591
      @kevinmcgrath3591 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlexKralDiving that's about 5 to 6 mins from 165ft, then quickly into a chamber and back down to 165ft perhaps?, what if the certified DMT had trouble on decent with his ears, no choice, keep descending ? if you stop the 2 divers will probably die ,right?

    • @AlexKralDiving
      @AlexKralDiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinmcgrath3591 No, you don’t necessarily have to press them down to 165ft in the chamber. They have very specific hyperbaric chamber tables for emergencies. I’m not sure the exact depth but, it’s probably somewhere around 40ft is safe enough to prevent the bendz. The DMT should make sure he/she can clear (and the are not sick) before anybody gets in the water.
