  • For those that entered my #GuessTheWeightGiveaway, the results video revealing the winner along with the drawing for second prize will be released later this week
    You've watched all my weight reduction videos, many cheered me on, some of you even shook your head at me, but it all added up. How much exactly? That's what we reveal in todays video. But before I play the clip showing the scale reading, I go over a quick review of everything I've done. Then we play the clip that was filmed the day of The Big Showdown TH-camr Callout at Texas Motorplex on April 10, 2021, where I show you exactly what the scale reads.
    We started this journey weighing in at 4140 pounds, and we've made a good amount of progress, but this was only Round 1. Yes, there will be a Round 2 of weight reduction coming later this year. I'm already lighter than most V8 Dodge Challengers on the road, lets see how much further we can take it.

    Wow!! That is impressive weight loss! All of the small items sure do add up, it's wild to think you ran over a second faster than I did, granted I wasn't hooking but even if I was you would have still been .8 quicker with the same engine and I was in about 800 DA, it's all about power to weight ratio.

    Just think if dodge would have used an aluminum block for the 392. That's over 300lbs! I saw a comparison between the Camaro SS engine and the 392 from RacerX. I know the chevy motor is a 6.2L, but so is the Hellcat engine. I believe the chevy motor, having an aluminum block, was around 350lbs lighter. Could you imagine these cars losing that much weight from changing up the engine materials. It would probably be unbeatable stock for stock between the mustang, camaro and the 392.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aluminum block would be nice, but having the BGE block is nice too just knowing it can hold up to a lot of abuse. I saw that same RacerX video. I think his numbers were a bit off on the 392s weight. Still heavier for sure, but not by that much. I think one of his sources for the weight was actually referring to the old Chrysler 392 from back in the 50s. From my research it looks like these modern gen III 392s weigh in around 580 pounds.

      Carbon Fiber hood is waaay too much money for almost no weight savings since the stock hood is already aluminum. Fenders I honestly don't even know if someone makes them but there wouldn't be much savings there either as the outer fenders are pretty thin metal as is. Now the trunk lid and doors I would like to get eventually but they're realllly expensive so not sure that'll ever happen.

    hello i have a questions if you dont mind helping me please im planning on buying the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 50th aniv its going to be my first car ive been driving for 1 year but for the car i love the gold rush color plus everything that else but would it be a hassle for me if i want to make the hood a gold rush color too or would i even be able to ??

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could have the hood repainted if you want. You'd just want to make sure to take it to a good body shop. Biggest worry would be how well the shop can match the paint color, some might even want to blend into the fenders, but that'll jack up the cost. Last thing you want is for there to be an obvious mismatch between the hood and fenders.

    There are two new 2023 1320s I have my eyes on for possible purchase. One has the hood pins. My question is, since your car is equipped with them, and if you could have a purchase do-over, would you get them again? Do the cords make noise or whip around? Any scuffed paint because of them?

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is only one thing I wish I could go back and do different, and it's NOT the hood pins. I love how the hood pins look and it's a small extra detail that helps set my Challenger apart from others. The cable will sometimes whip around on windy days but you could always shorten it or route it differently to take some of the slack out. There's a little bit of rub marks from them on mine, but it's superficial, and you dont even notice anything unless you look really close, and it can easily be buffed out so it's nothing to worry about. Worse part is really the times I'm at the track and have the hood open while in the staging lanes and then get called up in a rush and forget to secure them, that's happened a couple times to me lol.
      Oh, and that one and only regret of mine was that I wish I didn't order the $1 passenger and rear seats and just got a true single seater.

      I do have a line though, and a hole saw is most definitely past it lol. I know the old 'cut excess off bolts' trick too, but even in my Rams didn't go that far. As for that Shelby Charger, my friend owned a couple of those, can't imagine there was much left after removing 800 pounds! Was it even recognizable? lol.
