    Thats impressive most N/A cars running 10s are super gutted with torque converters, bolt ons and tunes. If you did that with the stock tune that's amazing.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yup, stock tune, no bolt-ons and still has a warranty. Just the super gutted part and thousands of miles driving chasing the best weather conditions.

      @Scavenger 1320 I have a multitude of questions here. Would you get it tuned with Ethanol to pick up some power? Is there a chance of you make some videos beating Mustangs ? I get tired of hearing 10speed is faster. What are the plans with car from now?

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Nick I'm holding off on any warranty voiders like a tune until I know more about what's going on with the direct connection kits. For now I have a little bit more weight reduction to do and a few minor bolt-on type mods. I'd like to see 10s again this spring in more normal weather. I'll be going to The Big Showdown in April and hoping to line up against some mustangs and camaros. I know there'll be at least one 5.0 mustang there that I should be going up against.

      Curious what a gutted stock power Mustang or Camaro would run? I’m guessing they probably don’t have 600 pounds they could remove? I’m guessing not in the 10’s?
      Awesome job. Impressive on stock power.

    Just went back and watched this again. What a great weekend! So exciting!
    My PB so far with my full weight bone stock '22 1320 in bad above 4000 DA in Las Vegas last year was 11.88, which is about on par. I have no serious plans to alter or reduce weight on mine like you have. I've done that before with other cars, a big block Plymouth, and a couple of SB Chevy Vegas. So I'm keeping this car as near bone stock as possible. That being said, I was running good wheels and tires, in fact, my OEM 1320 wheels & tires only have 50 miles on them and still have the nubs (I used another set to put the 1500 mile break-in miles on). I recently did a few minor things to hopefully shave another 10th or two off. Lightweight lithium battery, cold air ducted hellcat airbox & filter, MBRP Race Catback, drained the full window washer bottle, and was going to order the 180° thermostat you recommended. And of course it's already a factory single seater. CHEERS~ AV

    Congrats on the time. It's crazy how much it still weighs even AFTER the weight reduction. Makes me wonder wtf it would take to get it down to something like 3300 lbs. I'm guessing a lot of replacing of body panels and glass. I was only wondering because it would be cool to have a lighter weight 6 speed challenger for road course usage.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! It's definitely crazy to think about how I've taken so much weight off and I'm STILL heavier than a lot of mustangs and camaros lol. I have it down to 3550 now but I'm about to add a little bit of weight back in for some track required safety items. Without replacing body panels and glass, I think I could get the weight down in the 3400 range, but at this point that would require getting rid of my a/c and spending money on a lightweight brake kit. To get down to 3300 would definitely take some carbon fiber parts. I know Anderson Composites makes doors, trunk and roof for these cars, but we're talking quite a bit of money too at that point.

    A decent exhaust would give you more power then those 10lb

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Then you missed the whole point, which was to achieve a 10 second 1/4 mile with a completely stock powertrain, including the full stock exhaust, and that's what I did. So while removing something that might only weigh 10 pounds seems wild to you, running the 10.9 I did is a direct result of me doing just that with a bunch of small 5-10 pound weight reductions that most people think isn't worth it. One of the reasons I did this was to show what these cars would be capable of just as they are, if only they weighed as little as mustangs and camaros.

    I know your really into weight reduction and congrats on the 10 second passes, awesome man!! So have you considered any suspension parts to further your weight reduction? Have you researched IF anyone makes lighter parts that would lighten our heavy as hell cars? I want to build my car to get into the low 11's without having to strip the car down missing strettable parts like interior trim rugs mirrors etc. I want to figure out if there are replacement parts like the bumper supports, battery etc that will lighten her up. Love your videos man great job.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      AAD makes some lighter suspension components that are really nice but also really expensive. I have a full 'weight reduction' playlist with everything I have including a lightweight battery and bumper supports. It also depends on what items you're comfortable with. 'Rugs' don't make a car streetable, things like that are a luxury item. I drive my car fully gutted the way you see here out on the street all the time. The only difference is I put on my street wheels (that still have drag radials btw) and I do put my rear view and driver side mirror back on, but those take me less than a minute to do. You can go directly to my weight reduction playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLT6sOvzPq0omxUrKJPKeTuYLkDF2TTy_J.html&si=opUtGEPY9ReFwC3z.

      That's about as much racing as I'm getting in this year. I've only been out to the dragstrip twice so far in 2023. It's really not as extreme as it seems. All the stuff I've done can be easily undone. All I need is a Saturday and I could put it all back the way it was. Best part is that in the meantime my interior is just hanging out in my home office closet so whenever I do put it all back in it'll all still be just like new!

      I have, but those hoods are expensive and these hoods are already a lightweight aluminum, so there's only a pound or two savings by going carbon fiber. The trunk lid though is more like 20 pounds by going carbon fiber, I just need to get the money to afford one lol.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do when I'm more worried about reaction time than PB times. Footbraking it at higher rpms helps my car react quicker, but it also heats up the converter and I've noticed that hurts my times slightly. All of my best ETs and best 60' have been just launching off idle. I've played around with idle launches, footbrake launches, and transbrake launches, and which I use now depends on the race and the tree. So when going for times, I shallow stage and launch off idle. When racing more competitively where reaction time matters I'll footbrake it and where I stage and how high rpms I hold depends on the tree, whether it's a full tree, .400 pro tree or .500 pro tree. Transbrake I only use when I'm wanting to play around a bit and testing.

      @@novaguy383 They're pretty similar in grip from what I've noticed so far, but as far as I can tell they achieve it a bit differently. The ET Street Rs felt a little stickier, hence being called 'sticky mickeys', but they have a pretty stiff sidewall, which makes them heavier too. The Hoosier sidewalls are softer and wrinkle a lot easier. They're still sticky but I feel like it needs that wrinkle to help so they need a little bit lower psi than the Mickeys. With the ET Street Rs I always ran them between 22-24 psi. With these Hoosiers I kept them around 19 psi this entire weekend. They didn't like the higher PSI when I tried it the first time I took them out a couple months ago. That said I still need more time to play around with pressures and other track conditions to really get to know them.

Both are found in regular scat pack trim and both would be considered stock 392 drivetrains but they would perform vastly different on a track. There’s too many variations to just have one true 392 drivetrain. They’re all going to be unique to what options were ordered and in what trims. The common denominator is that they’re all powered by a 392 and however optioned out are still stock as to how they come from the factory, hence stock 392 drivetrain.
