- Toruń is a city in northern Poland, on the Vistula River. Its population is 205,934 as of June 2009. Toruń is one of the oldest cities in Poland. The medieval old town of Toruń is the birthplace of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.

Toruń, next to Gdańsk, was the richest city in Poland in the late Middle Ages. Both cities grew rich in grain trade. At that time, seagoing ships came to Toruń. After the occupation of Constantinople by the Turks and cutting off from the countries of the Orient exporting grain, Poland-Lithuania became the main supplier of grain to the west of Europe. Toruń's old city the only one in Poland (next to Cracow) is inscribed on the Unesco list (Warsaw's old town is also inscribed, but it was created from ruins). The old town of Toruń is completely authentic and has never been demolished. After Krakow, it is the largest in Poland. The Berlin Town Hall, formed a few centuries later, is modeled after the Town Hall in Toruń.

They Call Me Mister Jack Toruń and and Gdańsk were the first names of the cities were Find in 966 by a Polish duke and belong to Poland for 400 years and were the richest in Poland at the middle ages not even suprise that Prussian (German) stole it we got What ours back also, give war reparation! I turned subtitles on and they wrote Turin instead of Toruń.
Toruń, as every polish word is accented on second sylabble from the end.(There are some few exceptions)
The saint Johns"s church is a cathedral not just a church.
Only once in my life before have I heard "the holy ghost".
Fun fact in the middle of the town hall used to be a monument to the prussian king.
Biggest brick town hall in the world.

Also originally there was no tower on this church because the heretics were't allowed to have one.

Booked a week in Torun. A week before, was injured while training and tried to cancel. The hotel (Copernicus) refused to refund a penny. That's right, they kept the whole $1000. When will I be returning to Poland? When you see icicles in Hell, I reckon.

Torun has a rather complicated history, always contended between Poland and Germany for many centuries, a very interesting story.
