This channel is one of two channels I love for this kind of therapy. The other being HDD recovery services. He actually repairs hard drives just enough to retrieve lost data. Sometimes he does flash drives, SD cards, micro SD cards, and CF cards. The work he does retrieving data from flash isn't that different than this channel except he frequently has to reball BGA chips. While he can retrieve data from the NAND directly apparently 99% of the time it's faster to construct a working device and use that then using the chip reader.
It only looks easy because an experienced master is doing it. If I was doing this there would be a lot of F bombs in between the instructional narration. Keep up the good work!
I just love the relaxed way you do these things Steve and the way you edit your videos with the speedup parts in it. Just clean, simple and To the point. Your soldering skills are out of this world man. Great fix.

The only issue I have with my ps4 is occasionally when switching the console on for some reason the controllers will not connect to it even resetting the controllers doesn’t work the light will keep flashing orange switching the console off and unplugging the power cord plugging it back in turn the console on they work never understood why it dose that
I had the same “controller stopped working” issue. I can’t explain why but it was hdmi port-related. OR, there’s a small chance it’s the wifi antenna (super easy to replace). I had a local repair shoppe replace the hdmi port (bc I didn’t have a solder set that small) and it worked fine for two months, no controller issues. Now, I have the wlod and wish I would have found this video sooner and he might have replaced the hdmi chip as also.
I am having a problem with my Playstation randomly shuts itself down. There is no warning nor red light. It shuts down like it was cut out of power. Powering it on immediately after the shutdown gives around 10 sec of blue light then it shuts down. What I do is unplug the device from electricity for a minute then plug it back in and it works. The shut down happens randomly. Sometimes it works for an hour or it stays up for 4-5. Though it never stays more than 6 hours. There’s no warning light or any sound. It’s just power itself off and requires to install the latest system update. I’ve done this several times but it still shut off and wants to reinstall the latest update via USB. And when I’m on the home screen it lags like hell and freeze eventually. I’ve paid for so many games and spent many hours in game and all I get is a non working console. And yes. It’s faultcodes like. System not shut down properly and rebuilds software. My ps4 has been shut off Ingame so many times that my database is not working anymore. I haven’t been online for months because my console won’t let me play properly anymore. Even my games I’ve had to redownload so many times. And I’ve also experienced when I quit a game my console shuts off and wants the latest update again of the system software. My console is from 2015. I’ve even changed HDD and that didn’t help at all. It made@it worse.
I disagree with not using low melt solder on the port pins and legs as it reduces the amount of time you need to get the port free because heating it for too long is going to shift components around if you aren't careful and a new comer might not get another chance when they pull pads not heating the port long enough
Hi I have a PS4 Slim, when I try and change disk, the disk drive starts making a constant noise like it's about to eject the disk constantly (the disk does eject though) if I try to put another disk in, it will not take it, but if I turn the PS4 off then back on, as soon as the PS4 starts up I can get it to take a disk and load it/play it. I have looked through your videos for a problem with an exact match, but have not managed to find it, but there was one video where the rollers on the disk drive come loose, could this be the problem? I don't want to take it apart until I know the likely problem/solution. I have taken my PS4 Slim apart before whilst watching your videos, to clean it when it was getting to hot. Hope you can answer and help solve my issue! Many Thanks, Love The Channel!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Would you be interested in making a video about what exactly you do and why when replacing a chip? What is that liquid you put over the chip? Is that glue? Do you solder all these little pins of the chip one by one?
You should look into repairing that "chip" that causes teslas to fail, rich rebuilds had a video explaining the process but could be a profitable idea if you because familiar with that repair!

I have a left joycon that is drifting intermittently. I dont know what to do. Ive had the switch since last thanks giving and randomly it srarts drifting downwards and calibrating doesnt help. But then randomly it goes away and doesn't come back for a week or even a month. What do i do? Do i warranty it? Or ignore it? Is it the joy stick or does the famous stick drift not go away. Also intermittently my switch when the left joycon is connected directly to the console in hand held mode it thinks the left joycon is disconnected but still shows up as charging. But since the switch thinks the joycon is disconnected even though it is connected it disables the right joy con so its frustrating when it happens mid game. Is that the joy con or the console? Idk because those are my only joycons. Both these problems are intermittent and would take hours or even days of playing to replicate so even if i warranted them it may not do it in nintendos hands. What do i do? Any ideas? Is my switch a ticking bomb or am i just stupid and paranoid its gonna break and warranty is almost ?
Hey Steve, I don't know if you are aware but many joy-cons are having prematurely drifting joysticks, the only way to fix it is replacing the joystick for a new one, others have tried WD-40 and compressed air but it doesn't do much difference (or even any at all).
