My dad passed away 7 1/2 yrs ago. He was only 71. Him and my mom were married at 15 and 17 yrs of age. He would say “ I worry about your mom”. I promised him she would be taken care of. The past 2-3 yrs she’s declined but still lives on her own. My brother and I go over daily to get her what she needs. She hates depending on us but it’s an honor to take care of her.

8:44 I can relate but I find that people that have been married happily for a very long time tend to have trouble when they lose a partner they’ve been with for so long. If she’s living on her own and able to manage then it’s best to keep it that way. If you take away a long time loving spouse and then her independence you may take away her motivation for living. Be careful about making big life changes. My mother was very healthy but was devastated when my father passed away and I sadly lost her 3 years later. People really do die from a broken heart!

Your parent or sibling shouldn’t have to rely on one member of the family. Each member should do their part taking care of family. If you are watching one person do it all, consider giving them a break once in a while

Sylvie, do not tell yourself it's all your fault! When our parents are so sick and have lived as long as they have, they may not recognize underlying issues that may compound the reason he is in the hospital. Prayers for you that you will not take the burden of your father's multiple illnesses on your shoulders. Give them to God, He understands.❤😊😢

I love the older people! What long life experiences they've had! They have become the character's they have always been but don't have to put on a show for ego. The World has changed so much and they've seen it all! What a lovely lady Sylvie is! A natural nurturer for her dad. Anybody can be taught the mechanics of care, but then there are those where its just in their nature and that is where the greatest comfort and reward is found. I hope she realizes illness and old age is not her fault. She's doing a wonderful job caring for him.
It's certainly not easy being a full time caregiver. But whether it's caring for a child, a person who needs physical support due to an injury or disability, or an elderly relative, the World is a better place because of angels like her. Nurses often have it in them, but they get time off. Relatives often don't get enough
I hope there is respite support for her. Burn out is a real thing. Seems like Sylvie has got it all sorted out. I admire her very much. God bless you, your amazing dad and your family.❤️

God Afternoon from Bardufoss, Northern Norway. It’s a warm day today, 28 celcius and lots of bloody bloodsucking bugs flying around😂Kings A&E really looks busy! People everywhere, nurses, doctors, porters, patients- on their feet, in wheelchairs, lying on stretchers, in beds… When I was younger I wanted to be an A&E nurse, or anesthesist nurse. That never happened due to health issues. But at 50 years old, there is actually a possibility I might still make it!😃😃🥰I’d love to work with patients with rare conditions. I love the way many nurses and doctors just jump right into the situations, and their great sense of humour helps a lot too.😊❤

Ha, wow, that must be pretty damn hot by northern Norway standards, don't really think of it getting that hot that far north... and I definitely never considered there might be a bug problem. :P
Here in sub-tropical Australia it got down to like 3 degrees C a couple of nights ago, weird to think of there being that big a difference, even though, of course, I'm well aware it's winter here and summer there.

@@DodderingOldMan Bardufoss is on the mainland, in a valley, and the climate here is really dry. It gets warmer here than out at the coastal area of Troms County, like in Tromsoe. Bardufoss also becomes a bit cold during winter, but with very little wind and humidity. It’s dry here, except for meters of snow every winter!During late November till Fthebruary temperaturies are well below zero celcius, between minus 7 to minus 35 , sometimes warmer, sometimes colder. Last summer was the warmest in like 60 years. Between june 24 th ,until the end of august, we had temps between 27 C to 34 C, , it was also the driest summer for decades, which made everything from forests to marshes go dry. This made blood sucking bugs like moscitoes and gnats less irritating. Moscitos are born in still water, like in marshes and wetland. Last summer their natural habitat dried in, so by the middle of the summer, most of them died off. This summer has been a wet one so far, so moscitoes, gnat and other « biting insects that comes for your blood are in great numbers. And their bites make it itch like hell! Some develop an allergic reaction to their bites and might develops into allergic reactions that might kill you. However, we haven’t got the so-called murder wasps/ Hamsing Hornets in Northern Norway- yet. But they will one day find their way here. As the climat changes made by man are real!
The town where I currently live , Tromsoe had also the warmest summer in 60+ years. The danger of wildfires was high during the whole summer. Maximum temp for Tromso was 33,7, and the nice weather lasted for 7 weeks. Minimum temp was 18 C during those weeks. The south of Norway had their wettest and coldest summer in years. I grew up in Bardufoss, and moved to Tromsoe to be closer to the healthcare systeme due to my issues with my connective tissue; it’s called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

My goodness, the elderly woman with that severe leg injury. Hopefully it never did get worse.
Feel so bad for the elderly. Especially when they’re alone it just makes the whole situation worse.
That’s one thing that I agree with, with the couple is when she said she took the one bottle of wine away from her husband because I found that my husband who had dementia, the alcohol was making his personality really bad it was getting to the point that I dreaded waking up in the morning because all day he yelled at the tv and start to drink at 1:00 in the afternoon. I know the night before he passed away, he drank more than he should’ve and him, and my son started yelling at each other, and I got between them and I told him if he was going to hit anybody he was going to hit me and he’d have to go through me first and he just looked at me and said why would I ever hurt you? I replied, Why would you ever hurt our son and he sat down and thought about it. The next day, he and my son went out and had a wonderful day and I was happy for that. It had been such a rough go. And by 8:30 that night on our front lawn they pronounced that he had passed away. His dementia was just at the point of having memory lapses for longer periods of time. A week before his death he wanted to know what street we were on. The street was four blocks away from our house and for him being a trucker, he knew our city like the back of his hand every street every back alley, that’s when I knew that he was getting deeper with the dementia. He passed away when he was 75 years old. I really miss him, but I’m glad he passed away when he did. He would tell me that he could feel that he was losing his mind. I didn’t want him to suffer the way I had seen my granny suffer, my great aunt Margaret suffer and many other suffer with this horrible illness. He had the most peaceful look on his face and I couldn’t ask for anything better than seeing that.
I wish the young people go into a hospital like this and see ones in their 60s and 70s who are suffering with emphysema or with COPD and hear them trying to breathe all because of that silly thing called a cigarette.

7:52 That sweet little girl has a great deal of swelling, the left side of her forehead is very swollen. As soon as I saw how much I became concerned they didn’t triage her faster, I’d want her in the CT scan immediately to see what going on. That much swelling causes me concern about intercranial bleeding. She shouldn’t be waiting around, injuries like that are time sensitive!
She’s a little sweetheart, her smile is darling. She is looking well at the moment but I don’t like wasting time, children, especially with head injuries can crash very quickly on you. I wish they get her in the scanner!
There is absolutely no way I would have discharged that little girl. At a minimum I would have kept her overnight for observation of a concussion. Keep waking her up every hour. Watch for any temp.or vomiting. If that doctor was a colleague I’d be arguing with her right now. Likely she’s fine and the odds are 1 in 100 of complications but when it’s a child with a head injury those odds are too high for me!
