My heart goes out to Edgar. I know these videos are 10-12 years old, but I wish so often that we could reach out and comfort some of these people, patients and staff.
Lovely Edgar had me in tears, and Irena had me in fits of giggles. What an eisode! Say what you like, but the hardworking folks of the NHS are brilliant.
Blessings on all those in this video, wherever they may be, and a huge thanks to those who work every day to keep us all alive and functioning. I'm a teacher, and when I was hospitalized for a serious allergic reaction, those amazing nurses would say, "Oh, I don't know how you do that job!" And I said teaching teenagers seemed so easy to me, but if I were a nurse I'd probably end up shouting at people. Thank heavens there are skilled, compassionate medical personnel who look after us.
To see Des the doctor looking after Edgar he looked at the whole patient which was wonderful and very special more so in an ER department, i hope he never changes. As a retired nurse with 50 years experience it brought a tear to my eye.
I have been laying in bed the last week sick, watching everyone of these shows! Sitting in tears for Edgar. The compassion they show is just so refreshing. I have spent a lot of times at the hospital in the states and these caregivers are blowing me away!
Edgar just won over my heart! What a precious man. He reminds me so much of a sweet dear man I went to church with who passed away 3 years ago. He and his wife were the epitome of a perfect marriage. I pray Edgar finds the peace he needs and his dear wife would want him to have until they meet again❤❤
I hate Hospitals. Unfortunately I have to go in a lot due to Nerve Damage in neck and Lower lumbar. I was in a bad car crash just as I was about to buckle up so went to the Hospital and 25 years later, I am paying for it. I also have other very painful illnesses and mental, too. I wake each day grateful to be alive. The constant pain is a tradeoff, and then I would rather pain than cancer.
I cried everyday for four years after my husband died and still cried on and off and it has been five and a half years. Never heard of broken heart syndrome.
Unfortunately, in the States, doctors have the compassion but not the time to listen to their patients. Our profit-based medical industry simply won't allow for more than the bare minimum of contact. I understand the NHS is overstretched, but the system still looks at patients as people not profit. I hope Edgar found a way to fill his life again. Blessed be
This show was filmed in 2012,the NHS is in horrible shape now and socialized medicine isn't as great as you think. Americans fail to grasp that the whole UK is so much smaller than the US and the US has a much bigger population, if you look at Canada, they have socialized medicine and it's in a horrible state of affairs at the moment as well.
Edgar’s doctor was beautifully compassionate, listening carefully, understanding Edgar’s feelings and arranging for care.
Yes, sensitive, caring and timely
I absolutely loved Edgar and the doctor was so gentle and kind to him.
Cannot agree more. Beautiful to see

You are so right.I think some Dr in the US don't care 😢
And hundred dollar Tylenol, ambulance cost is enough to bankrupt you.
We desperately need national health care in the US.
Please people in the U.S., demand socialized medicine!

What a wonderful show!
The stories some of the patients tell is always so interesting.
