It is for the victims who are impacted, as they won’t have to go through the trauma of reliving this (which I’m sure they do every day regardless), but it is a blatant display of cowardice on the murderer’s part. Life without parole in Ohio prison for a child murderer means many inmates are not going to like him. He is not going to last. He will still die in prison but he will not have his plea deal overturned the same way a death penalty is automatically appealed. When they questioned him without the attorney they messed up and gave him a potential reason to not get sentenced to death. I think he would have likely gotten the life without parole.

Almost all guilty cases are given plea deals. It prevents a trial for both the defendant and the victims (defendant is enticed by making the plea deal have lesser charges and by extension, lesser sentences).
Trials cost money. He is guilty, why waste time and money to try a guilty person when there are innocent people waiting for their trial? The court, the defense, the prosecutor, etc can focus on other matters.
Trials also have jurors which are unpredictable (Casey Anthony, OJ, etc)

If he got the D.P he would have aged out before getting a D.P date. Remember D.P in G.P. This is probably the best thing Chad D has done. The mother and her daughter will be spared a horrific trial. I could not imagine having to sit through that. So thank goodness, the family don’t. This plea deal has been in the making. All parties on all sides have to agree. He will never be getting out of prison. I hope this can bring some healing to the families. Their lives are forever changed. Pleas remember the babies that were taken away to soon 🙏

@@EducatedBlackMan …true! My family went through this in February. The plea deal guaranteed the defendant would serve time. We didn’t have to go through a trial. The defendant (now inmate) will not have a nice time in prison. Also, he will never be able to remain a free citizen once released because of the circumstances imposed on him after released…plea deals can be very good for the victim (victims), the family, and the community……much love and peace to those who remain to pick up the shattered pieces of this horrible selfish man’s actions. 🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻

If he did get the DP it saves the family 22 years or more of appeals and trauma of possibly more trials due to appeals also. For myself, I can’t speak for this family, but that would a living nightmare. Life with no parole would satisfy me. I would never have to think about him again.

Well, going for the death penalty hard for a year only to suddenly pivot to a plea deal is a hard left and doesn't seem like justice in this particular case. And I don't normally support the death penalty but there are exceptions. Nobody with any brains can possibly think there was at all a risk that the MIN sentence he would get from any jury, would be life without parole. They didn't have to decide IF he is guilty, he very obviously is, and I don't know who buys the convenient temporarily mental health condition. A jury really only had to decide between life in prison without parole or the death penalty. The taxpayers have to pay regardless. The cost of keeping him for the rest of his miserable life or the cost of ending his life sooner rather than later.

@@SheilaKiss-ck9vd There was never a risk in this case that he would get anything less than life without parole from any jury. The situations are not the same.
