Thanks for the input, you are very fortunate to have a car like the Carrera 4s which is an awesome car in its own right, maybe not as extreme as the turbo but excellent nonetheless, good luck and take care.
This car embodies the idea of perfect design. It has everything; performance, style, and practicality. What more could you ask for in a performance vehicle?!
Totally agree. I got into an argument on another video proving with some dude saying that the 458 Italia rips the LFA apart. First Ferrari has heritage in racing much like it's TRUE rival, Porsche. The LFA is Toyota's first attempt to make a supercar and there are so many signs that even the company is not confident in its product. Like saying it's "limited" to 500 units. That way they won't be embarrassed to see their best shot at a supercar ignored.
With a manual trans you are more involved with the car. The paddles seem kind of joyless. With a clutch, you can build up the revs and then just dump the clutch and light up the back tires. Its just more fun.Little things like that make driving more enjoyable with a manual trans for me.
I was a six speed guy until I bought a 2010 Carrera 4S with the PDK. Wow, this thing is just unbeatable. . The stats said 0-60 in 4.3 with the PDK and Sports Crono PKG. I see just a hair over 4.0.
@BEEyonced trust me man, you want PDK, it's automatic manual gearbox that can shift quicker than any human or conventional automatic can. my friend has a golf-GTI with dual clutch gearbox. it is a manual when he put it in manual. the car goes like a manual and the engine sounds that it is connected to a manual gearbox.
i like the fact that the pdk has paddles, but i think i'd stick to a manual if i were to buy this car. but, seriously, i love this car. what i love most in a car is engineering, i'm very germanic in that respect, and this car has it in spades. it might not have the sound of a gallardo, or the shock of the zr1, but it's more efficient, more dynamic, and more usable than both of them put together. and if i had the money to prove it, this car would be sitting on my driveway today.
911 looks amazing in person. I've seen a GTR in person also, not near the same car. I understand that people who just play video games will just want the faster car.
I have had 4 911s, one TT, Two Gt3s and the new Carrera S PDK. Its as fast as anyother 911 I have had. The Turbo with a PDK would be cool but the C2S is as much car as anyone needs. I am buying a Turbo next year.
@daibadrumu Porsches are highly tunable aswell....... although you dont have to worry about "voided warranties when you launch controll a Porsche......... Cost over time with repairs, and its about even......... if that.......
wow porsche really did good with the new turbo. Its faster than cars that cost twice as much. It might even be faster than a Carrera GT. The new paddles are awesome. You can still get a manual, but I would be tempted to buy the PDK. I hope they put paddles on all their cars.
@geo155 it is way better if u think it is better to let the electronics do most of the job while driving. it is an awesome car but the turbo makes u feel more involved. the 2012 gtr coming is more awesome
Cars with double clutch gearboxes are faster. Having two hands on the wheel does not mean more involvement. For me, I feel more involved when I have a conscious feeling of where the revs are without even looking at the tach and when I need to shift. Shifting a manual trans adds to the difficulty of driving fast but once you learn it well, it is a beautiful thing. Being able to do a series of motions in the blink of an eye, while being on the limits of grip is real driving in my opinion.
Truly a master peace of engineering with the ability to be driven everyday. But still not as good quality as a Ferrari but not far behind, I will prefer the 2010 GT3 RS but that is just because I truly appreciate the engineering work of a natural aspired motor that rev@8500rpm and get 118/ per liter that is more then 95% off forced induction new cars.
@whiskeyline11 nissan is just pure innovation so its actually faster than the 911. the porsche on the other hand has some systems that are amasing like the PDK and the other things and its also better looking, alot more comfortable and its a porsche...
The only thing that holds this car back is the noise. They should make the engine a lot louder. Although the car looks great maybe they could make it look a little more striking and more of a head turner.
Automatic PDK is simply the fastest production transmission there is out there, manual may be fun but in a porsche you don;t just want fun you want some serious speed, manual simply cannot touch the PDK automatic transmission
true but do you need faster shifts on the street? If you like to get the fastest laps and have a simpler commute, get the pdk but I feel that later down the road the manual 997's will be highly valued because they were the last manual Porsche turbo, not to mention that manual is fun and rewarding
@jeanareighnbeau Porsche really has advanced to a whole new level, the new 911 Turbo gets better fuel economy with more power I mean it is a perfect package. The again a Ferrari is a Ferrari, the sound, the attention, the exclusivity I know the Porsche is the better car but it would still be a hard choice and BTW 0-60 isn't everything I mean it can be slower in 0-120mph. But yeh it is an amazing car.
Okay so this may be the best car ever made in it's price range (and possibly many times above that) although I'm sure the new McLaren MP4-12C will be at least as good. But what if you have like 40 grand to spend. What would the ultimate all round sports car be for you? Are there any relatively cheap alternatives? BMW Z4? Second hand Cayman? Nissan 370Z? BMW 135i?
@ariell92 The germans are not overpriced but they want to get money for their cars and you can also get one, while the Nissan does not make any money with the GTR because the price are only the production costs but that is no problem for Nissan because the GTR is limited to 60 piece a year.
@botobotoboto and what does it mean that its a NISSAN? everybody is talking about cars he will never get. so would you throw a NISSAN away if it would be for free?
Normally, I hate the Porsche 911. This is not the same. I love it. I still don't really like the styling, but the rest is fantastic. The only other 911s I like (or think I will like) are the GT3 RS and the GTS to come.
i was being sarcastic... it was a reply comment to someone who was comparing the 911 turbo and the gtr based on its price. question is why dont people compare the gtr with lp560 or say f430 which costs alot more. After all those cars are porsche turbo's competitors
Ferrari is a pure sports car. they are naturally aspirated rather than turbo charged which makes them more responsive. and ferrari also have one of the best gear boxes. I like the porsche turbo, but ferrari is way better. the new 458 italia has the 911 turbo beat on paper, but we have to wait for a head to head comparison when the cars officially hit the market.
@PaulCLou I would in part note that Japanese labor would be pennies on the euro. Then i would put that into the equation of why they compare the 911 to the GTR. Both are great cars, however very few manufacturing nations can compare to the high level of ingenuity, innovation and engineering that the Germans are so well renowned for period. That said Porsche truly makes some of the most superb automobiles.
Man what a car that launch was utterly smooth. It look like it had a rolling start wow very sweet.
look at this monster drift damn i've never seen a porche so in control going sideways...great vid
I love the new steering well with LED displays and the chromed metal... hot!
That thing launches like a beast!!!
Thanks for the input, you are very fortunate to have a car like the Carrera 4s which is an awesome car in its own right, maybe not as extreme as the turbo but excellent nonetheless, good luck and take care.
oh and my cousin has this exact model stick shift and its awesome!
@sodazman: that´s why that car is so well known. It still somehow looks like the first 911 in 1964. Simply perfect
Porsche's PDK is a killer.. @500hp it clocks 0-60mph in just 3.2 seconds
that's a nice looking ride...love to have one in the future
This car embodies the idea of perfect design. It has everything; performance, style, and practicality. What more could you ask for in a performance vehicle?!
the porsche 911 turbo of any generation will always be a car that doess evrything well.
Want one, want one, want one!!!!!! I wonder how Porsche is going to top this with the next generation turbo!!!
Totally agree. I got into an argument on another video proving with some dude saying that the 458 Italia rips the LFA apart. First Ferrari has heritage in racing much like it's TRUE rival, Porsche. 2013 Turbo will be a piece of art with over 550hp.....
Perfect storm...been hearing this phrase everywhere lately.
What an epic car!! But personally I prefer the 6 speed manual to the dual clutch.
Honestly, the steering wheel in the 911 turbo is the best looking one I have ever seen.
Now that is real performance.
I was a six speed guy until I bought a 2010 Carrera 4S with the PDK. Wow, this thing is just unbeatable. . The stats said 0-60 in 4.3 with the PDK and Sports Crono PKG. I see just a hair over 4.0.
Thats the beauty of the 911...it looks nothing like any other car on the road!
OMG.. this car is fucking awesome. There's nothing like a good ol' Porsche.
The 911 is the most recognizable sports car on the road today
i like the fact that the pdk has paddles, but i think i'd stick to a manual if i were to buy this car.
but, seriously, i love this car. what i love most in a car is engineering, i'm very germanic in that respect, and this car has it in spades.

I totally agree, I know i doesn't maker sense this is faster, more efficient and more convenient yet the manual would still be more fun.
911 looks amazing in person. I've seen a GTR in person also, not near the same car.
I understand that people who just play video games will just want the faster car.
best car ever !
perfection has a name..
I own a 2009 and tuned it destroys Demons from any light.
My new favorite supercar, next to the Switzer P800 GTR.
Holy shit this thing is so good!
I can't imagine how good the GT2 is going to be!
Cost over time with repairs, and its about even......... if that.......
pretty good driving in the beginning
Beautiful machine.
The 2012 911 Turbo hits 60 in 2.6 seconds. The 2013 Turbo (991) will be a monster.
@Howie262 no, the new nissan gtr was recorded at 2.7 sconds, still i prefer the 911, it just so sexy
wow porsche really did good with the new turbo. Its faster than cars that cost twice as much. It might even be faster than a Carrera GT. The new paddles are awesome. You can still get a manual, but I would be tempted to buy the PDK. I hope they put paddles on all their cars.
damn that launch was amazing.
@Howie262 until now. 2012 GTR is a beast. i like both cars, but nissan really stepped up to the plate with the 2012
@geo155 it is way better if u think it is better to let the electronics do most of the job while driving. it is an awesome car but the turbo makes u feel more involved. the 2012 gtr coming is more awesome
Miss my porsche, awesome car!
That steering wheel is a masterpiece
It looks best and most glamourous in black IMO.
pretty emotional car!! Amazing!! Thx Porsche!!!
Cars with double clutch gearboxes are faster. Having two hands on the wheel does not mean more involvement. When is the 991 Turbo gonna go out!!?? Can't wait to see how it gets on with the Nissan GT-R
@ariell92 The 911 Turbo has been tested by several magazines at 60 in under 3 sec. as well. :) And it's a Porsche not a Nissan.
am with you
This is y i love Porsche now all we need is a new GT2 :)
For the launch control - is it really necessary to attempt to slam the gas pedal through the floor of the car?
The 911 Turbo!!!
Cant wait for the 991Turbo
@OBrechkin the GT2 has a turbocharged engine as well...
The GT3 and GT3RS are also very good cars!
porsche is so fucking awesome dude
So does the new porsche still offer the manual stick on the floor?
@Howie262 its impossible because the gt2rs does it in 3.5 and it's way lighter and has 90 extra horses
@whiskeyline11 nissan is just pure innovation so its actually faster than the 911. the porsche on the other hand has some systems that are amasing like the PDK and the other things and its also better looking, alot more comfortable and its a porsche...
this car is amazing. i wants it
best review! thanks!
IN MY COUNTRY! SWEET!
damn that thing shot out on the launch
The only thing that holds this car back is the noise. They should make the engine a lot louder. Although the car looks great maybe they could make it look a little more striking and more of a head turner.
@guggyp I have the Turbo PDK, PTV and Sport Chrono, the car is a beast, Ill wait for the 991 Turbo.
You have a very nice collection of 911 :)
Beautiful Car.
Automatic PDK is simply the fastest production transmission there is out there, manual may be fun but in a porsche you don;t just want fun you want some serious speed, manual simply cannot touch the PDK automatic transmission

Who cares about faster shifts when you're in a Porsche turbo are you gonna feel hurt that a auto Porsche Will beat you by 0.5 of a second
would you say this engine is better than the previous 3.6?
I'ts more fuel efficient and has more power. The 3.6 is understood to be a "legendary" engine by the hardcore fans.
@@errorcode99 did the 3.8 have any issues?
I heard somewhere that it is 10 seconds fast than the previous 911 turbo round the nurburgring. Not sure what the actual time is.
this one or the gallardo or ferrari?...(in this priceclass..) which one is the best??
@jeanareighnbeau Porsche really has advanced to a whole new level, the new 911 Turbo gets better fuel economy with more power I mean it is a perfect package. The again a Ferrari is a Ferrari, the sound, the attention, the exclusivity I know the Porsche is the better car but it would still be a hard choice and BTW 0-60 isn't everything I mean it can be slower in 0-120mph. But yeh it is an amazing car.
yes there will be in a few years.
BMW 135i?
I WANT THIS CAR!!!
I want this car now.
actually, the GT2 is the the pure bred track car for the 996. GT3 is for the 997.
i think it looks great...thats the 911 bloodline...
whats the difference between this and a gt2 or a gt3?
Can't wait to drive this car on GT5.
Well around Nürburgring circuit it runs 8-9 seconds faster per lap which is rather convincingly.
beautiful!
@Howie262 Doesn't that car cost like less than half the price of a Porsche Turbo.
i love the 911 turbo more now its faster better looking but i am not sure about the rims i think the older rims looks better
@ariell92 The germans are not overpriced but they want to get money for their cars and you can also get one, while the Nissan does not make any money with the GTR because the price are only the production costs but that is no problem for Nissan because the GTR is limited to 60 piece a year.
just when nissan and chevy come out with the gtr and the zr1, porsche jumps ahead once again
Estoril is more like in the center of the country, Algarve is the south. But I forgive you because it's a 911 Turbo video :D
So the new porsche no longer offers a manual stick on the floor?
@botobotoboto and what does it mean that its a NISSAN? everybody is talking about cars he will never get. so would you throw a NISSAN away if it would be for free?
this car is the best everyday morning cup of coffee ..
Normally, I hate the Porsche 911. This is not the same. I love it. I still don't really like the styling, but the rest is fantastic. The only other 911s I like (or think I will like) are the GT3 RS and the GTS to come.
I completely agree.
i was being sarcastic...
it was a reply comment to someone who was comparing the 911 turbo and the gtr based on its price.
question is why dont people compare the gtr with lp560 or say f430 which costs alot more. After all those cars are porsche turbo's competitors
There truly is not substitute!
your daily supercar
Ferrari is a pure sports car. they are naturally aspirated rather than turbo charged which makes them more responsive. and ferrari also have one of the best gear boxes. @jOhnOndaRun And Italy. :) Do you don't remember names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pagani & Alfa Romeo? :)
dual clutch transmission makes for quicker shifts and a faster car tho...thats y every1s doin it now, bmw, porsche, ferrari, etc...
