Classic Game Room reviews LOCK 'N CHASE for Nintendo Game Boy from Data East released in 1990! This sweet reboot of Lock 'N Chase is one of the best Pac-Man clones ever created and a stunning Game Boy game that you must own.
CGR Lock N Chase TH-cam review has Lock N Chase video review gameplay recorded from Nintendo Game Boy (aka GameBoy), Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and Retron 5.
This particular version is also on the 3DS eshop. The More You Know.
oh cool
+Monotonegent for about $2.99. so is Burger Time Deluxe for that same price. i wonder if that game is any good?
anyone who has that game should definitely send it to Mark pronto.
this game uses a lot of the same sound effects as Burger time deluxe
The Gameboy, along with it's vast library of titles, have always kind of been like a video game version of comfort food to me. They're incredibly simple, charming, and often fairly deep gameplay and storywise depending on what you're playing
"It''s only a few bucks, it's pretty cheap!" That's what they all say on youtube when a game is not (incredibly) popular yet and after less than a year, BOOM, they become double, triple or even more than the original value. Thanks for encouraging collecting retro games guys. This will definitely help out.
I love this game! I remember picking it up and thinking "Aw just another fake ass Pac-Man..." but I gave it a chance and I loved playing it. It's so fun and the power ups, different items, and the locking up the cops mechanic make it almost a completely different game than Pac-Man.
I loved playing this on my Atari 2600!
This game had an awesome soundtrack.
my favorite GB game hands down...the original game as a bonus for beating the game is genius
Love these reviews. CGR!!!!!
Loved playing Lock N Chase on the Intellivision.
I'm downloading it on 3DS now thanks to this review.
Probably gotta try this at Perry's Arcade Center (PAC)
going to have to look for this one...
The gba sp makes this game even better by making it color.
Seeing this makes me wish there was a GB or GBC version of Cratermaze
Played this on a classmate's game boy when I was 7 in 1991👻
I have the feeling CGR is going to like Doom, a lot.
me too
Great Review! so good... cant not watch...
I love to watch "N" comment on the CGR Mark III channel!!
Love this game.
This game reminds me of Bubble Ghost for the Game Boy; a spruced-up remake of a much older game (arcades in this case, old European computers for Bubble Ghost) with much-improved graphics, tweaks to the gameplay to make it more appealing on a handheld, and really cool music. You should keep an eye out for Bubble Ghost if you liked Lock 'n Chase, and I should keep an eye out for Lock 'n Chase because I liked Bubble Ghost. ;)
This looks like an amazing game!
Got this on intellivision, it's great!
Checking out the site, and the new store, which are awesome. :-)
Another Great GameBoy Game
I vaguely remember this
I miss Derek getting hit by the gamecom
We all need more CGR… EDF EDF EDF
Been a long time veiwer limited commenter. LETS CHANGE THAT! Great video, Great game, GREAT HAND HELD!
You should check out the Game Boy's version of Burger Time.
This is better than the arcade cuz its got those cool face people I like more!! Just like Faceball on SNES and Gameboy! Love me those happy face games! also reminds me the change of the Zoom! I have on Sega Genesis to Amiga version, only the face person evolved into a Devilish...deviled egg guy??
please do review doom 4 when possible :)
This looks like a lot of other Data East games back then on Game Boy. Like Burger Time Deluxe for example. Man I miss those times when you could instantly tell which developer made the game.
GBA SP or GB Pocket. Tough choice, but love both! Lock n Chase is awesome too!
+vtnwesley Gba sp ags 101. The best.
+Jay Rob 101 is the best but mine cost me $74!!!?!
GameBoy Punk I order'ed mine off amazon. I think it cost me $90 something. It was worth it with the back light screen and huge Gb, Gbc, and Gba collection i have.
+vtnwesley Shoot me if you must, but I'm gonna say for the fact you don't have to carry around all the carts emulate it on your Android phone paired with a Power A - MOGA Hero controller(not saying the originals are not nice to have just makes more sense in my book), and it does my cramp your hands playing for long periods of time, but if you must go with original hardware get a backlit modded original GBA as the formfactor is just so much better than the GB Pocket or GBA SP, and you can get USB AA rechargeable Lithium batteries which I have for my backlit modded GBA for when I want to play my original collection of carts.
+GameBoy Punk Lol mine was $2 and it works great.
The music sounds very megaman-ish to me.
woah, no idea lock-n-chase lived beyond the 2600/intellivision - it is a bit different than the original, though
Gameboy is portable king.
Lol the title screen
What the game makers didn't tell you is that it's Kirby hidden under a hat.
+Godbyte or it could be Pac-Man who was secretly trying to find more work and ends up going as far as disguising himself with shoes and a fedora and robs banks for a living to make ends meet after he and his wife maxed out all of their credit cards trying to buy power pellets for their power pellet addiction.
........The More You Know.
this is cool. but it lacks whodefeatz
"It's even better than the gamecom." LMAO
+The Drunken Gamer RIP derek.
We miss Derrek!
I really enjoy this game, it's just Pac-Man but illegal!
Also you're really right I love playing original Gameboy games on the original hardware, it just feels so right
say will
I miss the near deaths of Derrick
bought this for $5 still haven't played though
+GameBoy Punk Love it. I paid like $5 for it, too.
Oh my god it's been a while since I've heard a gamecom reference on the show >u< so awesome
It looks like PacMan with goombas
where's classic n' game room ;)
+RetroMicky82 better question, where's Vec N Trex?
These videos are almost worth it just for the names at the end
Jeffrey Park it gets annoying after the first few times if your watching a playlist
gg
Im not gonna say it...
+RandumbCinema shhhh
If he reviews one more game that Derek has already reviewed (and done a much better job of it) I'm unsubbing.
+SegaMischief oh no ! ... not you pls everybody but not you !
