So here's the deal, Pop 'n Twinbee was given a major overhaul with full color on the Twinbee Portable collection for the PSP. It was only released in Japan; but it's region free of course. I can't recommend that collection enough to everyone, it's really great.
Notice how he puts it in a Gameboy SP at the beginning but the whole recording has the "super gameboy" border indicating he's playing it on a super nintendo.
The music is composed by Michiru Yamane, who also composed music for Castlevania (Symphony Of The Night and onwards like Order Of Ecclesia and Curse Of Darkness) and the new fighting game Skullgirls :) She always makes catchy tunes.
I believe there was a game from the same universe for the SNES but it was a platformer. I only remember it had Twinbee in the title. Can someone confirm this?
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Mega Man 2, Battletoads, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Duck Tales, Metroid, Kid Icarus, The Legend of Zelda, Kung Fu, Kirby's Adventure, Dragon Quest (or Dragon Warrior as it was called back in the day), Double Dragon, Little Nemo, and Contra are some recommendations.
I swear I've heard Mark say on the odd review that the States didn't get a game yet it was available in Europe how come this happened with some games why and not others?
Once you start watching CGRundertow a bit more, you'll start getting addicted to them and they'll become just as entertaining as Mark's reviews. I watched one of their playlists for hours on a boring Sunday once and know I understand that TJ, Derek etc. are all just as vital for Classic Game Room and they're all goofy buddies and have a similar sense of humor. The best videos are when they're together.
100% agree. I actually unsubbed because they were just filling my sub box and i wasn't watching a single one of their videos. I eventually did watch one, the Tony Hawk Hd one, and it sucked. It was just a bad review. I subbed because of Kevin and Derek, but now it's all TJ and like 5 other people plus Derek. Mark is my favorite reviewer ever! So informative yet also entertaining as hell. Did Kevin leave Undertow? He was extremely funny. His and Derek's top 20 SNES list is hilarious.
The guy that did the Facepuncher review is great. The problem is that people fell in love with Mark's personality, and expected everyone else to be a clone of Mark in Undertow. Undertow isn't bad at all, it means more reviews using a similar style. There is no issue here. People simply expect to see Mark #2 and #3 when they open up that channel, and get disappointed.
I think they should just change the name of their channel completely, that way people stop comparing them to Mark. Even if you're not actively criticizing them, when you watch them in the back of your head you think "Mark would do a better job." They can't capitalize on the CGR channel, so they shouldn't even try.
I have been watching Undertow for years. They have good reviews and are funny at times. I love Derek and Kevin and sometimes TJ, but i was just sick of boring/bad reviews every so often. Plus they were filling my sub box and i never watched there more recent reviews. Trust me, there was a time where i was watching them a lot.
Mark, your show is SOOOO much better than Undertow. You need to talk to those guys over there. I'm not trying to be negative, and I'm not sure if it's just me who thinks this. But I nearly fell asleep watching some Undertow vids just a bit ago. Watch the Robin Hood one and tell me I'm just crazy.
Here's something to think about. Go back and watch Mark's KC Munchkin review /watch?v=QHWYgoUxrUQ That was 4 years ago. What will TJ be like in 4 years time?
I'm, sadly, going to have to agree with you there! I'm subscribed to Undertow but rarely, if ever, watch their reviews anymore. Their style lacks Marks style, enthusiasm and humour... they are very dull in comparison. It's a shame, the idea behind it is great but Mark just does game reviews so much better than all of them. Derek is OK, though, whenever I see him doing reviews. He seems pretty cool, similar sense of humour to Mark. But Mark is still "the man"! Legend!
I don't want people to get me wrong - I know all reviewers (CGR or otherwise) can't be Mark. This isn't where I have my complaints. What I mean is - Undertow reviews are largely "by the numbers" regardless of who reviews them. They have little to no intricate details of the game (they just summarise everything as quickly as possible in most cases) and they lack humour or any real "must see more of these videos" factors. They feel heavily scripted and monotonous. Lacking in feeling/passion.
Yes, it is (if you are talking about the GB section)
There is a Twinbee (Detana Twinbee) in the Game Room for 360.

Looks great, new Game Boy reviews is always good
this dudes a machine, making one or two videos daily! fuck yeahh, keep em coming :)
Notice how he puts it in a Gameboy SP at the beginning but the whole recording has the "super gameboy" border indicating he's playing it on a super nintendo.
Great review as always, i love the show
How about a video on atari 5200 after market controllers? If its intergalacticly a possible mission! Thanks!

Thought so. One of the best purchases I ever made for the 3DS.
What stood out in Twinbee is the enemy design.. fruits, seafoods, plates, forks, etc
woah, what is that music at 0:40~ish?
Mark's got a great thing going for him. He doesn't need to buy any games, he just gets them :P
Would love it if you reviewed Rogue Trooper, brilliant game!
Again some swag from DUISBURG! Who's this Alexander from my hometown? :D
I believe there was a game from the same universe for the SNES but it was a platformer. I only remember it had Twinbee in the title. Can someone confirm this?
I have the SNES version, I loved it as a kid and still do now :D
How can i get to sound like Mark?
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Mega Man 2, Battletoads, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Duck Tales, Metroid, Kid Icarus, The Legend of Zelda, Kung Fu, Kirby's Adventure, Dragon Quest (or Dragon Warrior as it was called back in the day), Double Dragon, Little Nemo, and Contra are some recommendations.
wow this looks so fun. I hope it comes on the virutal console. Chances are i won't be able to find this one haha
Hello, I just bought a NES, someone got any tips for great games? (I have Super Mario 1 and 3 and Duck Hunt)
This is the same version that's on the 3DS virtual console right?
I believe that is Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures
Pop'n Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventure. My FAVORITE SNES platformer. I love Twinbee.
Oh I remember this game. Nostalgia~~~
I swear I've heard Mark say on the odd review that the States didn't get a game yet it was available in Europe how come this happened with some games why and not others?
I love the Twinbee series.

HAIL CGR!
I was gonna go with "Problem, firsters?" but yours works too. xD
Can you review Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures for SNES? It's an awesome side scrolling platformer, probably the best platformer for SNES
Mark: This is known as Stinger on the NES. You should review that :)
CGR RULES!!!! WOOO!!!!!
you should look up the super famicon version, it's pretty fun too, it's different then the gamyboy version, but still tons of fun!!!
Please don't tell me I'm not the only one who thought this was a mashup of TwinBee and Pop 'n Music based on the title

Ah the good ol days

The variety of level themes are nice.

Very short! Still didnt take it away from the fact it was a solid game

I enjoy the Twin Bee series. Great review
Thanks ^_^
Try Stinger on NES... it's the same game.
SNES Version is great, as is the PCE version. Both are very fun, yet very challenging. I've only beaten the PCE version once. :)

I personally love the 3ds classic remake, that one will make you go blind!
You know an awful game? Pop'n Kneecaps. Hurts like.... a popped kneecap.
Here's something to think about.
Go back and watch Mark's KC Munchkin review /watch?v=QHWYgoUxrUQ

1.) No, it wasn't.
2.) What relevance does this comment have on this video, anyway?
12th Comment. Because 12 is an awesome number.
