I love the Arturia MiniFreak and MicroFreak, I think they are some of the best value for the money external synths you can buy, and there is also the MiniFreak V software synth that comes with it. You can't go wrong with MiniFreak.

I didn't see it in the video, is there a way to transpose the arpeggio like on the Microfreak? I haven't figured out a way to do it.

Ahh, that's easily fixed - Register your MiniFreak at Arturia.com and you get infinite virtual ones! 😉

I have a MicroFreak and saving like mad for my Mini. Only about £150 off.
I've had the Mini since mid Feb now and it's insane. Love it :-)

Hydrasynth is more powerful, but at the price of menu diving.
Hydrasynth is a dream to program. It is so intuitive on the surface level and then it can go deep if you need it to just that. Get both! I am going to demo the Mini when I visit Sweetwater this summer. I decided on the Modwave before the Mini but I am still considering the Mini. I have a sickness!
The Minifreak mod matrix is amazing and you can even route to the FX parameters 😮
The analog filter is cool and it definitely adds to the otherwise digital sounding oscillators, but calling it "sumptuous"??? Not really.
Sorry - we love a SEM filter here!
How come I never see a video of someone playing a killer lead on a synth? They are all too much fiddling with the knobs and not enough jamming on the keys. Are synths used for leads or are leads more a midi thing now? Do I just not understand synths? I want a synth I can jam on with an awesome pitch range.
Honestly I think many synth heads are poor keyboardists
I think there are competing motivations sound design vs composition. Many synth nerds when given a powerful toy can't resist spending more time on sound design than on actual composition. If you approach a great synth as a compositional tool to create sounds and not just an instrument to make music - you may find a good balance and get the most out of it. But then as you get to know it even deeper you can easily get consumed by just building presets with sound design all day.

once again it splayed thru other devices that we dont have so how do we know what MF sounds like om its own?
Perhaps I missed it in the video, but what other devices are they playing it through? Otherwise I’m pretty sure it’s just the Minifreak we’re hearing.
