Stone Tomahawk

  • Stone was used longer than steel by our early ancestors, and today it still has its applications. A stone axe, hatchet or even tomahawk can be an effective tool to utilize in any survival situation. Some good flintknapping skills, decent woodworking knowledge and a creative outlook...a stone tomahawk is not far away.
    Thanks for watching...see you in the bush.

    I really want to know if someone dedicated a good chunk of their life to it, how advanced could they make their technology by themselves starting with nothing? Stone knifes and leather materials are awesome, but could you eventually work up to melting down some copper ore to make better tools, or maybe even make some more advanced textiles than just fur and leather? How far could the advancement go if you knew every step and just had to execute it?

    • @Vgamer311
      @Vgamer311 2 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      @Atman Gotango yeah, that’s why I think the question is so interesting. If it was just a matter of knowing how and doing it, then someone could shoot right into the modern age. I know that there are some things that one person just couldn’t realistically achieve by hand by themselves, so I guess I’m wondering if there would be some specific first technological roadblock that couldn’t be surpassed by one person by themselves. At first I was thinking perhaps it would be any kind of advanced metallurgy since that usually requires some kind of advanced mills or at least huge amounts of materials, but I remembered that it’s actually possible to make some very primitive versions of steel by using melted iron and animal bones. I also had the thought that any kind of plastic or rubber would almost certainly be impossible, but I’m also thinking that surely there would be some kind of impassable roadblock way before those were even on the table, no?
