I am over 50 and have never painted a day in my life! As of today I have completed 2 of your paintings and OMG they turned out so good. I am totally shocked! You are an amazing instructor!! You make me feel fearless to do things I once was so afraid of! Thank you so much Jane for doing such an awesome job! Please keep doing this!! Once I get more paints (colors) I am going to keep following the paintings you are doing. I personally would love to see more underwater paintings (including coral, fish, dolphins, whales, ect.) I love the water, sunsets, pretty much anything to do with water (both on top and underneath). Please don't stop!! You are making new artists daily!!! *points to herself* =D
Jane I just love the way you teach. You are so easy to follow and explain in detail so I can understand every word and feel like I can do what you explain and I thank you so much for your talent and sharing your self with all of us. I was a beautician in my career. I retired to Vermont but when working I had the Wyeth's for clients for 26 years. I was around artist for years and never in a million years would I have believed I could paint. But meeting your video's I might just be able to do it. I must admit I am trying late in life turning 71 on Earth Day. You are such an inspiration and I am regretful I found you and your talent and sharing.
I love your videos n your artwork. You keep it as simple as possible which makes it so much easier to follow. Plus you speak to your followers so everyone understands what and why your doing things. It's all so appreciated. Thx for another great video.
I came back to this one after a few years to refresh my memory. The first one I painted six years ago won first in class at the county fair and later sold. I've sold a few 4x5s based on Jane's poppy tutorial, and someone who saw one at a friends home commissioned three of those little ones. So, back here for a refresher course. Thanks again, Jane.
I have been watching artists on youtube for years, and you have the absolute best instructions.. What is usually missing is closeup technique, which you have done here. Thank you!
Thanks for the lesson. I painted with palette knives in 60's and 70's. I loved it--have bought the metal and plastic ones. Also, love the use of paper plates and paper rolls. We did not have these. Again, thank you. I will be watching you and returning to things I love.
I attended a workshop recently on pallet knife work and struggled to get the feel of it . I just found your demo and loved it so much I'm going to give it another try , thank you for explaining so well.
Finally! Someone who goes slowly and shows the detailed technique of how to hold that pallette knife and roll it and how to load the paint! Much appreciated Jane! I've watched many other videos on pallette knife painting and I think you are the best teacher for a beginner like me! THANK YOU!
I love this painting and painted it today on Remembrance Day. Thank you for sharing - you are a great teacher! Thanks for teaching palette knife technique - it is so fun and no details to sweat about just lots of great colour and texture... super inspiring!
I'm back to watch this again, a refresher course. People liked the poppies I painted a few years ago. Tried again recently and discovered I had lost my groove. Trying too hard. Watching this again reminds me to loosen up. Thanks again, Jane.
I really love it when you do paintings like this one and the rainy umbrella one. They demonstrate your depth and maturity. Leave the corny kiddy stuff to the art sherpa. Thumbs up on this one!
Jane, I have been learning so much from you. Your instructions are the best for those of us that are just learning!!! I have done several of your paintings and have fun making them my own. Thank you so much!! Love Tuesdays!!!
Not only do I like your work, but love the way you are so confident. These Poppies look fabulous! I can't wait to have a go. Thank you for your clear concise tuition.
What a wonderful lesson! I love how you present all in such a way that a beginner can follow!!! Thanks so much - I can't wait to get started now that I see that, yes, I can do this too!!!
Yay, Valentina! I'm so happy to hear that!! Are you on Facebook? I would love if you'd share your painting with out group :D facebook.com/groups/ArtMonsterSquad/
Tried it again substituting Ultramarine blue for the burnt umber. Will do this combo a second time, too. Lots of palette knife practice! Thank you for providing these tutorials.
@Jane I cannot say thank you enough for the explanation of the direction and way to hold the palate knife.I have seen a few loads but not like this being as simplistic and easy to understand. Now I cannot wait to use my plastic set I have had yet no idea on how to use them! Thank you💜
You might be! Do you paint now? If you start practicing young, you're going to be an amazing artist in no time flat! I think it's easier for kids to learn how to paint sometimes. Adults can block themselves with fear, but kids just go for it! That's what I want you to do. Just go for it!
Jane, you are such a good teacher! You make everything to understand. I do understand that when I try your techniques because of my inexperience I’m not getting same results, but your explanations make me believe that with practice I may eventually get there!! 😊
Fantastic, loved it. Just what I was looking for, can,t wait to give it a go.Excellent. You talk gently as you paint and you dont rattle on and on before or during.
Jane you have been such inspiration for me to complete the impressionist poppies with palette knives, I signed it and will hang it on my wall. Thank you for your time and kindness, I really feel good about this, it looks so cheerful
Thank you so much, Jane. Your lessons have been an amazing gift in my life. I suffered a life altering brain injury almost 10 years ago. I lost my life ... But, I have finally found another life ... Another path that I'm drawn to ... Perhaps I would even say 'compelled to' follow. The long and the short --- I am learning so much from you, Jane. Namaste
I'm just starting to paint and have been looking at tutorials for help. I loved this painting when I saw it and I'm really proud of how it came out when I tried it. I learned a lot of techniques in this one video and am way less intimidated by the knives now. You made it easy. Thank you so much!
I've always believed that just because you can do something doesn't mean you can teach that something to others. But you are a great teacher! So many videos on TH-cam and I've never watched an entire one until I found vidoes!! Thanks much

My mother really wants me to do poppies for her and as I am no artist per say, I desperately needed some hints and tips. Your video has given me that in bucket loads, lol.
