For the Sanremo festival obviously all the songs must be in Italian but the Eurovision Song Contst does not provide any rules on the language so nothing prevents the songs from being translated, it is a choice that remains up to the artist
Of all the couples you saw Al Bano and Romina Power are the only one who were married, they separated in 1999. Alice used to go only by Alice, the same goes for Wess.
Italy 1957 is the longest song performed at Eurovision and it’s actually because of that song that the 3 minute rule came to be haha (it was 5 minutes and 9 seconds)
Mia Martini was Loredana Bertè’s sister (you may remember her from last Sanremo, the blue haired lady). She killed herself because her career was ruined by people saying that she was bad luck (not joking, sadly). She was an incredible voice, check out her “almeno tu nell’universo”.
Romina and Albano were married, in Italy we don't take the husband name. We use our name always, and when we want to let others know we're married we just add "in" to specify. Example: Romina Power in Carrisi (Albano last name).
Hey, in music industry a lot of singers only have their first name without any surname: Adele, Madonna, Alice... If they sing together with someone having a surname, for example Franco Battiato, you get a combined duet name like Alice & Franco Battiato. Battiato doesn't refer to Alice. So they are not automatically married! 😂😂😂
If I read the notice about San Remo correctly, starting this year the winner is automatically expected to go to Eurovision.. We'll see how that pans out.
In the early years of Eurovision it wasn’t necessarily hosted in the country that won the year before, it was just hosted by whatever country was interested in hosting that year because unlike today, Eurovision wasn’t watched by many people so the hosting countries wouldn’t really get much out of it 😂
In 1956 only 7 countries participated in the very first contest. To make it a full show they allowed every country to send two songs. So when you check out the videos for Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Belgium they also have two entries in 1956. After that when more countries joined the contest they switched to one song per country.

In Italy normally the wife keeps her surname.

11:00 It's the opposite: Al Bano and Romina Power were married at the time, while Dori Ghezzi and Wess only had a musical collaboration.

That’s very interesting!
In 1956 every country sent two entries, they only announced who was the winner but not other placings

IN many others years Angelina would have come higher in the list, but this year. WAS ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL.

Al Bano and Romina Power were already married and remained so until a few years ago. Romina is the daughter of American actor Tyrone Power.

BTW Nice Lietuva Basketball Jersey ;)
Thank you 😅
16:55 Toto Cotugno’s song is about the European Union.
In 1956 there were two entries and only like the winner was announced so the other places are unknown
You should definately react to more "countries in Eurovision" videos, they're so entertaining to watch!!
1979 Matia Bazar
“I don’t like her voice, i think 15th is appropriate” 😂
Please take a look at some of their video
E.g. Cavallo Bianco or Ti sento
or Vacanze Romane :D
yeah, that was painful XD.
Yeah.... Hearing him saying that on one of my all time favourites was a bit offending, not gonna lie
Lol ... Al Bano and Romina Power were married. Romina was the daughter of Tyrone Power (1914-1958) and Linda Christian (1923-2011).
actually Jalisse are a married couple, Al bano and Romina were also married but got divorced but they still sing together sometimes.
Guys should react more about Marco Mengoni! He is the king of Italian pop and has music from all musical genres!
Definitely do Greece, Yugoslavia, Spain and Russia next.
A lot of the best selling songs in Italy didn’t go to Eurovision. It is highly political.
Per tanti anni la VERA musica italiana a San Remo non c' è andata.
